The execution of Sam's death drove me nuts. Even powered down, there were two frickin *angels* in that tunnel. Make it more believable that they couldn't help!
The whole stupid point of killing Sam was so Lucifer could bring him back so the others would have a reason for working with him. Honestly the number of logic hoop these writers have had to go through to keep Lucifer around is astounding.
Season seven lucifer might have been a hallucination in Sam's head but it was based on a century of the angel torturing him in the cage so Sam knew damn well exactly how Lucifer would act and what he would do.
So last episode Sam says he can take care of himself and Dean shouldn't worry, and then in the next episode he gets killed. That feels like such a slap in the face to Sam, like the writers are saying he can't take care of himself, when that has been proven false multiple times already, this is just insulting
I genuinely hate how they wrote Sam past season 5. Sam was supposed to be such a powerful and strong character (mentally and physically) but I feel like they put him on the back burner once Kripke left. I liked seasons 1-5 where it felt like Sam and Dean were both developed and written properly, where even if a storyline focused on one more than the other, it didn't feel like the other brother was being neglected. Now that I re-watch, I only watch s1-5 consecutively, and then just jump to whatever episodes I like. The writing got sloppy overall, and it wasn't fair to the fans or the actors imo.
"I don't think this has anything to do with Michael" Your not wrong for thinking that, the issue with Michael is the same with Raphael. Both are legit threats and are powerful but they don't have enough screentime or personality and we really don't know much about them. And as annoying as Lucifer has become I'd still prefer watching him over Michael
They really don't have time. They know Lucifer is alone with Rowena back in our world. He's an evil arc angel. There's no guarantee she be able to keep him away and that's exactly what ended up happening.
