  • Great hotel and a beautiful day. Lovely views of the hotel's private bay from an Ocean View Suite, walk round the resort - lobby, shops, restaurants, pools, spa and the beach. Best of the lot the tram ride from lobby down to beach on the hillside. Amazing hotel...

One of the few most pristine and secluded beach resort properties on earth that is so cleverly and beautifully laid out on such tight hillside terrain! Love the way the native architecture and landscaping plants are featured with an amazingly fitting Art Deco flair!

Nice view and nice place. One correction: the closest distance to China is Hainan Island (NE of location), more than 100 miles (160km) away so you can't see that far :)

What time of the year were you there? I don't want to go when it's overcast. Btw, Inter Conti was started by Pan Am, not Bass. Bass bought the company from PanAm

Excellent video as usual. Quick question ...I'm having some arrangements made to spend a few days in Singapore in a few months time. I like your review of the Swiss hotel at Merchant Court and particularly the location at Clarke Quay and Chinatown. Seems like a good place for for entertainment and for a person who likes to do a lot of walking. Is there any other hotels near there that I should consider? I know also that you have reviewed various resorts on Bintan Island. Which would you recommend for a 3-4 day stay.I know you're not a travel agent, but I do respect your knowledge and opinion a great deal.
Got a new 4k TV and have looked any your last couple of videos on it. They made excellent viewing.....

Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a look at their site. I've never been to Singapore/vincinity, so any suggestions are most welcome.

Hi Allan. I love Lee so you should also consider Park Royal. When I travel, I do 1 night per hotel. Thats how doctors do ward rounds, so to speak.
If you don't mind walking - all the hotels at Marina Bay area possible. Straight answer for a first time visitor -
Singapore - Swissotel Stamford or Marina Bay Sands
      Bintan - Bintan Lagoon Resort
Decent places, you wont miss anything.

Love this video, such a nice location for a hotel. My question is how do you cope being a single traveller to resorts such as this, most people are in their social circles/couples, do you ever feel intimated or out of place? I want to travel there before I get back to work and I'll probably have to go alone. Would be great to hear your thoughts cheers.

    • @MrKesavaraj
      @MrKesavaraj  8 лет назад +1

When I first started travelling I used to travel with friends and family - as per the social circles you talk about. These days after 10+ years of travelling, going alone most of the time is perfectly ok. For example, been to Maldives like 10 times, they say its a honeymoon place - yes and no - there's still plenty to do and never feel lonely. Travelling alone forces one to meet and talk to locals which one wouldn't always in a group. I guess it also partly depends on where one travels to - research the place before you travel; and if in doubt go to a decent bar and after midnight everyone's a friend/feel more relaxed about a new destination and then the holiday begins...

Ex-cel-lent video Raj! One of the better Intercons I reckon?! Hey- what about your plans of spending summer in Europe this year? I'm still awaiting your arrival :) Have done some traveling myself. Last 20 days, I spent 3 in Budapest, one in Novi Sad, three in Belgrade, two in Tel Aviv (Israel) and seven in France. Had breakfast in Meursault (Bourgogne) this morning. Now back in Amsterdam. In case you make it here, I will take full responsibility of getting you a darn nice Gin & Tonic here somewhere. Let me know. Your buddy in Travels, Hajo

Hi Hajo - good to hear man! Yah I promised Europe this summer - still work in progress this side. I will visit soon, and let you know. I've never been Budapest or Belgrade. Tel Aviv is a really nice city, as is Israel - lots to see, and the people of Israel I found really nice and hospitable. The French Riviera is one of my fave places (running in the Monaco marathon some years ago, all the way along the south coast to Italy and back to Monaco is a beautiful run). Anyways, will keep you posted regards when I'm coming Europe... Regards fellow Traveller, Raj

I LOVE the French Riviera. Have lived in Cannes for a bit years ago. Riviera great for renting a convertible (cabriolet) and cruise around for a couple of weeks. Await your holler about visiting Europe. Looking forward to it and in the mean time-- happy traveling man! Hajo

Ahh man, I can imagine the convertible driving along the beachside Cannes in the sun. Has to be one of those 1960s style old American convertibles... pulling over beachside and a pina colada cocktail at the beach... magic ;-)

I told you before-- there's an uber romantic in you. Probably a writer, poet, or at least (and this we know) a cosmopolitan. Cheers to that Raj. Let's have a drink here to the old bohemian lives lived and to be lived. I think I can come up with a few good places for that! :) Yrs.
