Thank you so much for being one of my regular viewers and I really appreciate it! How to grow seedling - I already did a video where I have shared growing Gerbera from seeds and here is the video - ruclips.net/video/dPSDodCBxFs/видео.html Again, here is one video about how to grow Summer Flowers From Seeds - ruclips.net/video/eFwTxNwBW80/видео.html Hope that helps...thank you once again and Sir is not required actually, Good Luck!
@Nee Sm, thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it. There could be many reasons behind not blooming. So, could you provide me few details like - 1. At what stage you bought the plant and from how many days it's with you 2. How many hours of Sunlight it's getting 3. How you are fertilizing it. You can also send me one or more pics to my email id - gardeningupbeat[at]gmail.com But for time being here are few solutions - 1. Try to provide it at least 3-4 hours of direct sunlight 2. Fertilize it with high PK fertilizer, no N (Nitrogen) Apply once in 15 days and continue it at least for 1 month. If it's water soulble, you can mix 1/2 teaspoon in 1 liter water and then apply on soil directly 3. Let the top soil dry out completely before watering. Just do the above things and I hope it's going to bloom very soon. Thank you :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat Hi... It's been more than 5 months. The plant was already big and blooming while I bought. The flowers get more than 6 hours of sunlight. As for fertilizer I used garden soil and compost soil. The flowers grow more taller and leaves are green but not blooming. Hope you can help me out. Thanks.
Hi @Nee Sm, look like I got the issue. But, before suggesting you anything, let me tell you one very imp thing. See, there are many varieties of Geraniums and few bloom well in Summer and other in Winter season. The plant which bloom well in Summer season, most likely won't bloom in Winter season. Summer bloomer plants are mostly taller and Winter bloomer plants looks bushy as you can see in my video. Since you bought the plant 5 months back, definitely it's a summer bloomer and if I am not wrong, the plant is not looking bushy. So, instead of worrying too much, I would recommend you to buy seedlings or plants at this time and those would be blooming continuously till around March - April. Or if you want to try once again (to get blooms on your plant), I would suggest you to apply fertilizer something like this - Multiplex MUTI-PK Fertilizer (N:0 P:52 K:34). Dose - 1/2 teaspoon in 1 liter water and apply on soil once in 10 days. Just apply 3 times in November and see what happens. This is a good fertilizer and works well for me and if it's not available in your place, you can try similar fertilizer with same NPK ratio. Hope that helps..all other things are just perfect like Sunlight. If you have any question, plz let me know. Thank you!
@@GardeningUpbeat Thank you very much for your reply and the value able lessons. I would definitely do you said . Hoping for a good results. Happy gardening!
@Galina M, Most welcome and thank you for watching :-) Well, actually trimming is not required and if they get enough sunlight, they grow bushy itself. We can deadhead them on a regular basis and I have shown it here - ruclips.net/video/oQKVDmgOEO0/видео.html Thank you :-)
Hi, thank you very much for the advice on geraniums. I have 2 questions regarding this: 1. I have horseshoe geraniums. Is the care tips same for this variety too? 2. Can I use Single super phosphate instead of DAP? What should be the dosage and frequency for SSP? Thanks and keep up the good work!
@Ramachandra Thejasvi, Sorry for the late reply and here are your answers - 1. Yeah, care is same for all Geraniums. 2. SSP contains only the Phosphorus but DAP contains both Nitrogen and Phosphorus (helps in growth of roots and in flowering). For plant growth (top part), Nitrogen is essential. You can also use other organic fertilizers as well and now a days there are many in market :-)
@Milly Manuel, Thank you for your question :-) Unfortunately no, Gereniums are propagated either from Seeds or Soft-wood cuttings. One request - I would appreciate if you don't call me sir :-) Myself Chandan Dutta and Plz feel to call me by my name or anything you like, thank you :-)
My geranium is not blooming. It's leaves are turning yellow. I water it twice a week. Is it an indoor or outdoor plant and when is the blooming season. I bought the plant in this current month.
@Waneva Cook, You don't have to be sorry at all, in fact I am sorry as my pronunciation is not perfect. Those are the DAP (Diammonium phosphate) Crystals. It's a chemical fertilizer and works well. In case you don't want to use it, you can use any other organic fertilizers as well like Blood meal or Fish emulsion fertilizer. Thank you :-)
Nice and useful tips sir...For past 5 months it bloom very nicely bt recently the flower blooms small.... I don't know the reason for that... Can u help me to bloom big
@Mani Megala, It's happening as Temperature is going up...they are grown mostly as Winter flowering plant. They can survive in Summer but size of the blooms would be small and less. You really don't have to worry :-) Instead you can grow Summer flowering plants as there are many. I got Geranium plant from nursery when it was about to bloom. Now it’s blooming but some of the leaves are also turning yellow. What should I do for this. My plant gets morning sunlight and the 2nd half of the day just the bright light. Please revert.
@Ravi Kumar, Sorry to say..but Plz avoid using Cocopeat as it holds the water for much longer time. Geranium is very sensitive to wet soil and it's better to avoid any component that's going to reverse the case. Instead, please feel free to use either Perlite in potting soil mix or use more sandy type soil. Thank you and sir is totally not required! Happy Gardening :-)
Woooow lovely flowers 😍💚💚💚💚💚🌄 but I have only morning sunshine in Mumbai my grill can I grow geranium as petunia n verbena s are giving me only leaves flowers are very very small now 🙄 after taking so much care of potting soil n fertilizer please let me know the flowers that can be grown in morning sun light n yearly flowers aaye to much better
@Kappu Panda, I am really sorry for the late reply, have been growing lots of plants so that I can share with you & others.. If you are able to provide only morning sunshine, then I really don't recommend you to grow Geraniums. Petunia blooms even if we are able to provide them minimum 2 hours of direct sunlight but they become leggy. Same with Verbena. It would be much better if you grow plants like Primula (winter), Pentas (all year), Impatiens (all year), Salvia (all year), Gerbera (all year), Cineraria (winter), Kalanchoe (Winter), Poinsettia (Winter) etc. For yearly flowering, I am going to do another video and would upload very soon.
Very beautiful flowers. And information is very important and useful. Where can I get seeds of geranium ? I searched everywhere online and offline too. Please update for seeds. Thank u
First time to yr channel. Liked much. Are those Dap crystals slow release or are they fast release ? I also noticed how yr potting soil is completely free of weeds. What do you do for that ? Please do answer
@Saluto, Thank you so so much for visiting and appreciate it :-) DAP is a fast release fertilizer and results can be seen within 10-15 days. If you have any questions, plz let me know and I would be glad to answer :-)
@Saluto, During winter time, I don't get too much weeds issue and whenever I see them, pull out them as fast as I can do that they can't spread. Problem is in Rainy season (currently) and I am actually tired of keeping my pots weeds free :-( I don't use any kind of herbicide, thank you :-)
@Smita Madhu, Thank you so much for the feedback, much appreciated!! I am from Guwahati (Assam) and collected the seedlings from Nursery over here. For the seeds, you can try either TrustBasket or SeednPots. I bought many seeds from them and those were good enough. Thank you :-)
@Tabassum S, Please see how much you are watering your Geranium plants..they hate wet soil..Please don't water your plants if the top 1-2 inches soil is not dry. In fact, I can say safely that, we can water them when almost 80% soil is dry. Other cause - Lack of nutrients. Believe me - water is the main issue and that's why, I get lots of trouble while growing Geraniums during the summer in my place. It's because, rainfall during the summer in my place is quite high.
@sangeeta dave, I actually haven't tried using soilless potting mix for Geranium..but now a days experimenting with many plants and some are working well. For example, I have shown this in this video (ruclips.net/video/wC7LokhsZ88/видео.html) and if you want to try soilless potting mix for Geranium, then you can try similar. Good luck :-)
@Naseema Khan, Problem is weather...as you said, your plants are healthy, they should've bloomed well. May I know current temp in your place? They won't bloom that well if it's above or around 30.
@Duata Duati, Extremely sorry for the late reply, I was busy on growing many plants. Well, in most cases, I collect either the seeds or seedlings from reputed nursery as I know those are going to be high quality. I also try seeds online and got good results many times (but not always). In my new videos, I am going to cover everything from Sowing seeds => Flowering and I would also let you and other know about the source from where I bought the seeds. I hope, it would works.
@Sonam Palmo, Those were bought from Nursery at that stage :-) They pull out seedlings at very early stage and then transfer to those tiny pots so that they can sale them :-) For one seedling, price is Rs. 20! Bit costly :-(
@Enrique Marak, We can sow the seeds when night temperatures is around 15°C - 20°C. In India, they are mostly grown as Winter flowering plants and best time to sow the seeds is end of Sept - Oct. But, mostly it depends on temperatures and that's why in most place it's grown in Summer as well. Thank you :-)
@Mubarika Gul, thank you very much for watching my video from Gilgit. Gerenium ka roots sad kr khrab q hoty hain - Aap, pani thoda kam interval me dijiye..Pani tanhi de jab soil sukha sukha lage. Ye problem jyada pani dene se hota hai. Aur, sandy type soil use kijiye hamesa.
Hi, thanks for the detailed guide my friend, excellent! Do you know of any trustworthy geranium seed sellers online that you recommend? Is it a good idea to grow geranium from seeds. I watched this twice & subscribed! Loved it!
@Zenyr Garden Làm Vườn Vui, thank you once again for the awesome feedback, appreciate it. I believe you are not from India..n so it would be bit hard for me to suggest you a recommended seller, sorry :-( I mostly buy the seeds from Amazon.in. Sometimes I get good seeds and sometimes very poor. Anyway, I just let it go and try again. Thank you once again :-)
@Mithulal Biswas, Thank you for your question. The best time to grow is October-December. They don't like Summer. But still, there is a taller variety of Geranium which can be grown even in Summer. Just need to protect it from too much direct sunlight.
It would be difficult to say the exact color. But you can identify 2 different plants by looking at the leaves. Few plants would have leaves where you would be able to see circle in light gray color and on some plants, leaves would be plain green. That way, you would be able tell that both are going to have blooms in two different colors.
My plants are growing very slowly. And also the leaves are turning brown n dry from the corners n some of them are turning yellow.. What to do.. One of the geranium ivy branch is turning little brown but i am getting blooms on the same branch.. Is it rotting.. If so how to save. Please help
@Pragya Hazari, sorry for taking bit more time to reply. I am sorry to say but look like you are overwatering your plants :-( They are kind of succulent and so we need to be very careful while watering them. If the branch is turning deep brown, I would recommend you to cut the branch IMMEDIATELY and stop watering until n unless you don't see the leaves are wilting. I can understand that you are already getting blooms on that stem and it would be hard to cut the stem. But plz believe me, if you don't cut the stem right way, the disease is going to spread to the other stems and finally to the base of the plant. Eventually, your plant would die and neither you and me want this. So, from next time plz be careful while watering. Plz let me know if you have any questions and I would be glad to help you. If you like, you can also send me a few pics of your plant to my email id gardeningupbeat[at]gmail.com and I would be able to give you more accurate solutions. Thank you :-)
@Mamta Asem, Sure, you can get the seeds from SeedsnPots and you can try any Nurseries in your place :-) I am from Guwahati and I buy most of the plants from Nurseries in my place.

In my plants on I spike of flowers comes and bloom not many ...why...plant has lots of leaves healthy one
@Naseema Khan, Problem is weather...as you said, your plants are healthy, they should've bloomed well. May I know current temp in your place? They won't bloom that well if it's above or around 30.
@@GardeningUpbeat day time it is around 28/29...I have kept them in balcony so not that hot
Sir How can I get geranium seed?
Can you please tell me where you order flower seeds in India(I've ordered some from Snapdeal but some wrong seeds and hardly germinate)
How you prepared baby plants. Plz share
@Sonam Palmo, Those were bought from Nursery at that stage :-) They pull out seedlings at very early stage and then transfer to those tiny pots so that they can sale them :-) For one seedling, price is Rs. 20! Bit costly :-(

What is the best time for sowing gerinium seed
@Enrique Marak, We can sow the seeds when night temperatures is around 15°C - 20°C. In India, they are mostly grown as Winter flowering plants and best time to sow the seeds is end of Sept - Oct. But, mostly it depends on temperatures and that's why in most place it's grown in Summer as well. Thank you :-)
Please ap regal pelargunim plant pe video banay

Okay then, I’ll try searching around some more. Have a nice day :)
Can we grow them from seed in south indian climate?
i dont know how is the weather like there but they can grow in like any condition. just protect it from freezing temperatures.
Which month I grow this plant plz tell me
@Mithulal Biswas, Thank you for your question. The best time to grow is October-December. They don't like Summer. But still, there is a taller variety of Geranium which can be grown even in Summer. Just need to protect it from too much direct sunlight.

Sir my geranium leaves are turning yellow please help
How to identify different colour of plants by seeing its leaves...??
Thank you :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat i have sent you a mail with the pictures.. Can you please have a look and help me

I wanna buy gerinium plants of good qualities can you help me
@Mamta Asem, Sure, you can get the seeds from SeedsnPots and you can try any Nurseries in your place :-) I am from Guwahati and I buy most of the plants from Nurseries in my place.
My geranium flower blooms only once this season ,what is the reason?
Assam weather is good for almost all plantts. We can never grow geraniums this way in the month of summers even if we save these from harsh afternoon sun.
