Hello Heidi - greetings from Poland. A very enjoyable and relaxing cruise nothwards on the Trent and Mersey. The passing contryside was beautiful with all its autumn fruit and tints. Like you, I believe that a glut of red berries in the autumn, is a sign of a harsh winter. Our first snow here in Poland usually arrives in early November and stays until late March. I’ve been watching a bit each day. Seeing the Countryside is great. Always find it amazing when to camera swings to take a view and the view is looking down into valley.. that is something that doesn’t happen on rivers. It always feels unnatural and I guess it is.

I loved all the trees, birds, insects, water voles etc. And feeling the weather - you know what I mean! Yes, lots of bulldozing everywhere but you do seem to still be living life around and with nature.
It’s currently about 2 degrees outside and there was a frost this morning but it’s about 28 degrees in the boat at the moment and my fire is roaring away 😂😂

You were right , the old boatmen called the leaks in the locks “ piddlers” My old mum always said if you want to stay warm in the winter keep plenty of slack in your drawers.

I had a multifuel stove in my kitchen. When the fire died down I'd put a baking spud inside wrapped in foil. They cooked great. Good vid. I look forward to them. Keep well.

I have a problem with big bushes. It’s great to go down the cut, but like you said it’s like going down the Amazon and the beautiful views just can’t be seen. All the trees along the cut can’t be good for the canal banks either. Great video again...👏👏👏
It seems all the bushes have berries on at the moment for the birds, squirrels etc 😂 and it’s cold 😂 I’ve got both stoves lit now already … I don’t usually light the boatman’s cabin stove til Jan but we had our first frost a couple of days ago brrrr

Good day Heidi ,My my don't you look all posh today, so sophisticated smart and stylish then we get on the move and it all goes to hell in a hand basket or in your case a Granny trolley, a damp one ta boot. So not only are you a Pirate now you're a Weather Expert predicting that a hard winter is on the cards for us based on the crop of berries this Autumn. I hope you're wrong Heidi as our normal snowfall is over two meters in an average winter but can be much more and the lowest temperature in February in New Brunswick is -46.7c but more usually in the -25c to -30C range. Surprisingly you do get used to it and learn to enjoy it in various ways including all the outdoor winter sports indoor ones too like Skating, Curling and Ringette Then there is Hockey which can become a disease in some. Apart from normal heating in houses some like to take on board a little anti freeze if you get my drift and speaking of which check the Fridge darlin, I'm sorry I had to put the milk on the counter there wasn't room for both so I had to prioritize,don.t scold me Pudding looks as if he enjoys your cuddles but who wouldnt....me for one. So you have aspirations of becoming a CRT contractor trimming bushes ,a well trimmed bush is a delight and an art I've seen bushes sculpted into some fantastic shapes, I think they call it Topiary so if you'd like me to do some Topiary for you just give me an Ahoy!..So till next week take special care coz you are so special.XXX Cheers Ralph

There is this woman who just moved on to a narrowboat. "Julie's Narrowboat Life" I think someone needs to take her under their wing. She doesn't seem to have a clue and she seems to be on her own. Check out her channel. I'm kinda worried about her. No pressure, don't even know where she is located.
Oh I’ll have a look, is she near people she can ask for help? I’m a cheeky bugger and I just go and ask … I’ll be onboard boats 11 years in December and still make mistakes daily 😂😂😂
Lots of women say to me that they would love to get a narrowboat and live this lifestyle or become continuous cruisers but they are too scared for various reasons such as living on the towpath away from the safety of a marina, carrying coal down the towpath, emptying toilets, driving into locks and the actually handling of a traditional boat especially one with the old traditional controls and mid engine .. How many single handed women boat drivers do you see about compared to men? Yes, there are a few but nowhere near as many! … I am living this amazing lifestyle and I am in a fortunate position were I can help, promote and encourage other women to do the same. If you don’t like these videos, feel free not to watch 😃
Hey heidi, love the videos. If i could do ehat youre doing , i would! Id really love it if there wasnt hype music on your montages of cruising down the canals. It is really awesome to be able to feel the ambience of being there with you, and with the strange music it really pulls away from that. Afterall, we viewers are here for you, your boat, your country, and the sounds they have. we can all listen to non-copyright music by finding it ourselves on the internet, but we all cannot cruise the canals. Hi Jonathan, thanks for watching .. all us vloggers use music when it’s not a continuous shot, but clips put together otherwise when editing we get pops and clicks between each scene and there are usually no interesting sounds happening or we have our radios on in the background or chatting etc … obviously if there was some gorgeous bird song than I wouldn’t put the music but we only seem to get that at dawn and daybreak … My vids will always have music as it’s part of my video style … there are other vloggers that do a front camera continuous real time live cruise however so they may be more your style… ‘I think Narrowboat journeys’ does this so worth a look 😃😃

There is this woman who just moved on to a narrowboat. "Julie's Narrowboat Life" I think someone needs to take her under their wing. She doesn't seem to have a clue and she seems to be on her own. Check out her channel. I'm kinda worried about her. No pressure, don't even know where she is located.

I live on a narrow boat. Is it really different living on a boat 'as a woman?'
Lots of women say to me that they would love to get a narrowboat and live this lifestyle or become continuous cruisers but they are too scared for various reasons such as living on the towpath away from the safety of a marina, carrying coal down the towpath, emptying toilets, driving into locks and the actually handling of a traditional boat especially one with the old traditional controls and mid engine .. How many single handed women boat drivers do you see about compared to men? Yes, there are a few but nowhere near as many!
… I am living this amazing lifestyle and I am in a fortunate position were I can help, promote and encourage other women to do the same.

Id really love it if there wasnt hype music on your montages of cruising down the canals. It is really awesome to be able to feel the ambience of being there with you, and with the strange music it really pulls away from that.
Afterall, we viewers are here for you, your boat, your country, and the sounds they have. we can all listen to non-copyright music by finding it ourselves on the internet, but we all cannot cruise the canals.

Hi Jonathan, thanks for watching .. all us vloggers use music when it’s not a continuous shot, but clips put together otherwise when editing we get pops and clicks between each scene and there are usually no interesting sounds happening or we have our radios on in the background or chatting etc … obviously if there was some gorgeous bird song than I wouldn’t put the music but we only seem to get that at dawn and daybreak … My vids will always have music as it’s part of my video style … there are other vloggers that do a front camera continuous real time live cruise however so they may be more your style… ‘I think Narrowboat journeys’ does this so worth a look 😃😃
