Adam Black I would agree with yashodaan. This man has lost everything-his family, his house, his career (I assume, since he seems to do nothing). I think the scribble thing are his self-destructive habits. They tried to kill him at his lowest point. I’d like to think the last shot means he is over coming them.
Massive props to the guy acting in this video. I think we can all agree that the actors / actresses of music videos don't usually get much attention (unless they are already quite famous), so I'd just like to give a shout-out to the bloke in this video. You can see how well he feels this song and portrays it with his acting. The combination of acting and music got my crying the first time I watched this. Spot on.
I cry every time I listen to and watch this video. I’m not sure why, but I sense our subject has suffered a tremendous loss in which there is no recovery from and all hope is lost.
I still cry almost every time I hear this song and see this video. The words and the video describe in such great detail some extreme struggles i went through a few years ago.
Don't feel alone. This song possesses Majesty and the determined violence of Passion. You are not alone in loving this song. It drives me like gasoline. I assume it is a song, one of those rare songs, that has been a gift to you. I feel likewise.
Gonna throw in with everyone else. Brian Fallon and Corona Hardy aren’t afraid to strip away all the niceties and show real pain. It hurts and it’s beautiful.
One of the most profound music videos ever made, for one of the most moving songs ever recorded... but still, so few people even know it exists. Just about sums up what I'd expect from this world.
Yes. He seems to have sacrificed something, whether or not that is true, to give an immeasurable value to this video. Something that is true and beautiful has the ability to live for years. I thank him.
I was just looking on youtube something about Joseph Mawle and I came across this masterpiece of the song, and now I'm hooked. I haven't heard of this group before and english isn't my first language, but still... 👏👏🔥
This is honestly the best music video I’ve ever watched. The video itself is phenomenal, but the ending honestly made me breakdown-such a powerful scene. This video seems dark and somber but I think the theme is triumph vs. struggle. Addiction is real but this video gives us hope.
watch Hot Water Music's video for Drag My Body... I only say it because brian and chuck doing a little tour made me look into chucks music more but that video is very deep
I love what they did with this video. They gave the audience much to dig into and the actor really showed emotion, went great with an already amazing song.
I'm an alcoholic and still suffering. I have so much hope and this kills me. it is just sublime. and people in the world died today. and I feel like you already felt this pain. people died today but your song still remains exquisite and beautiful.
I lost my girlfriend this February and I was gunna end myself i didnt go threw with it it's a thought thing losing the one you love in your 20s this song is amazing I love brian fallon he changed my life
Glad you decided to stick around,my friend..choosing to keep living when all you wanted to do is lie down and die is a tremendous victory..I applaud your strength,bub..
The first time I heard this was at a Brian Fallon/Horrible Crowes show. The lyrics hit me like a brick and I cried. It’s not often that a song moves me like that. ❤
I'm in love with the night Every breath of this house creaking I'm familiar with the cold and the windows and the doors And the sound of my heart beating Beating in and out of time And it's such a shame I heard the wind say this morning Be still my heart I age by years at the mention of your name What a pity this season You remember me, my lover I don't recognize myself I'm not the man you love Behold the hurricane Behold the hurricane I walk around these empty rooms We once moved like the morning Silhouettes they haunt this house Like a memory haunts me now As if it were a dream As if it were a dream And it's such a shame I heard the wind say this morning Be still my heart I age by years at the mention of your name What a pity this season You remember me, my lover I don't recognize myself I'm not the man you love Behold the hurricane Behold the hurricane I heard the moon has visions of her nightly I heard the mighty rivers cry out her I saw the heaven and the earth I saw the heavens and the earth cry alone to you And it's such a shame I heard the wind say this morning Be still my heart I age by years at the mention of your name What a pity this season You remember me, my lover I don't recognize myself I'm not the man you love Behold the hurricane Behold the hurricane
Discovered this 10 years ago I was furloughed from work and would spend a whole day in the movie theater. They played this during the movie previews/ads and would mention who it was.
Thank you, Mr. Fallon....I listen to this song when I need to be picked up. But my heart breaks everytime I hear it and I think of someone I got to love and this video is terrifying. And so much of your music makes me face a terrible day. That is your strength. It may be about something, but so much of what you do, like "Great Expectations" or this or the one about the deep water...I can't think of it right now cuz' I'm ****ed up a little....you are one of my favorite songwriters. Love to you and yours.
I really didn't expect a video filmed in Britain depicting a man who's lost everything and is haunted by, uh, something, to be Crowes' first music vid. But it worked! It worked amazingly! Well done Brian, you beautiful man!
The whole album is freakishly powerful and deep. Just good quality music. Beautiful poetry and ugh I dont know how to describe it. It's so good! I'm done listening to it for a while because its just so powerful and sad. I need to listen to something happy now.
Not everybody is born with a voice like Adele, but Brian taught me that anything sung with emotion can be a great song. His voice isn't bad, just gives me that much more confidence to continue singing..
I know people in the same thing mate. War is a horrible thing, but don't ever give up. You're always so much more than you think you are. You survived a war, you can do whatever the fuck you want to.
plus: out-of-this world acting and directing. letting some of the environmental sounds but not all of them through was great, and this actor had me by the heartstrings. criticism: i can't decide whether i wish they had backed the story up a little more or whether it started in the right place. i feel like i didn't get the full effect of the guy's de-evolution. that all being said...wow. excellent. can't wait to see what the next video is.
What a meaningful piece of work. Very in depth definitely strikes a cored in me and I'm sure in many people. The pace of the music is really in-tune with the footage. Great stuff.
This is just how I interpret it mind you, but, the way I see it is that there's this man wallowing and lost in despair. And the dark figure, the personification of his despair, comes to him. The figure appears when he hits rock bottom and can no longer simply coast along. He has to choose whether he will finally give in, which will be the death of him, or fight and choose to live. I hope that was helpful.
Joseph Mawle is one of the best actors I have ever come across. Heartbreaking song and video.
I age by years at the mention of your name. What a line.

What does this video mean ?
@@AdamBlack it's mostly about dealing with addiction, and how it can be the loneliest journey.

Yes!!!
I can't tell you how much I can relate to this song. Since Afghanistan, I still don't think I've found enough of my true self to give to anyone.

This song is about addiction? To drugs?
@@friendlyneighborhooddogper1371 To me it's about heartbreak, but I think it can be about anything that you can relate to. That's the beauty of art!

His words heal, man. Keep listening to them.
Criminally underappreciated song/video.
I'm in love with the night
Every breath of this house creaking
I'm familiar with the cold and the windows and the doors
And the sound of my heart beating
Beating in and out of time
And it's such a shame
I heard the wind say this morning
Be still my heart
I age by years at the mention of your name
What a pity this season
You remember me, my lover
I don't recognize myself
I'm not the man you love
Behold the hurricane
Behold the hurricane
I walk around these empty rooms
We once moved like the morning
Silhouettes they haunt this house
Like a memory haunts me now
As if it were a dream
As if it were a dream
And it's such a shame
I heard the wind say this morning
Be still my heart
I age by years at the mention of your name
What a pity this season
You remember me, my lover
I don't recognize myself
I'm not the man you love
Behold the hurricane
Behold the hurricane
I heard the moon has visions of her nightly
I heard the mighty rivers cry out her
I saw the heaven and the earth
I saw the heavens and the earth cry alone to you
And it's such a shame
I heard the wind say this morning
Be still my heart
I age by years at the mention of your name
What a pity this season
You remember me, my lover
I don't recognize myself
I'm not the man you love
Behold the hurricane
Behold the hurricane

I loved this song the first time I heard it, I did not expect the feels I got from this video. Damn.

This is the best crowes song for sure . 👍

Beautiful. Fallon cannot write a bad song.
"I age by years at the mention of your name". Such a potent line.

I have lived this story. Only you, Fallon, could recreate it for others to understand what it means to be haunted and to fight our demons. Alone.
