- Serenata andaluza (de «Tres piezas de la juventud», 1900) (score), de Manuel de Falla (1876-1946). Alicia de Larrocha, piano.
La Serenata andaluza de Falla es una de las obras más tempranas del compositor y pertenece por tanto a la suite de las «Tres piezas de la juventud», junto con el Nocturno (1896) y el Vals Capricho (1900). Está inspirada en un paisaje calmado andaluz, y aunque fue compuesta en Madrid, Falla se transporta a su Cádiz natal. Se estrenó en el Ateneo de Madrid el 6 de mayo de 1900, a manos del propio Falla.

Manuel de Falla is one of the best composers in history. I would say he is the face of spanish composing

@@xangarabana Tarrega never learned the art of development. Most of his guitar works are less than 3 minutes in length and his authorship of several has been called into question.

I can understand why de Falla is so highly regarded. He knows exactly the right notes and the perfect shape (form) his compositions should take. This is a delightful piano piece. Beautifully performed and recorded.
My piano teacher gave me a few pieces, between which I have to chose one for my exam. He gave me Lizst, Debussy and other famous pianists. At first I thought I was gonna play Liszt, but I decided to take a look at this composer I didn't know.
Now, I am definitely chosing this piece, I fell in love with it! ♡

Aside from writing "chosing" and "chose" instead of "choosing" and "choose" , your English was very good. And you have good taste in music. Plenty of repertoire out there that deserves closer looks from both students and professionals.

Mientras estaba buscando las partituras para poder tocarla, encontré dos versiones completamente distintas, y quería saber la razón... Mi profe me dijo que debía estudiar esta pieza, pero sin embargo no sé qué partitura ocupar... Personalmente me gustó mucho esta, pero la otra igual tiene lo suyo, a pesar de saltarse una parte completa...
De antemano muchísimas gracias.
Yo investigué las ediciones que había antes de hacer este vídeo y esta me pareció la más completa. Sin embargo no sé qué decirte; no soy experto en el tema y quizá su profesor tenga más autoridad para recomendarle una versión u otra. Sí le digo que ésta es la que eligió Alicia de Larrocha, quizá eso le ayude a elegir. Un saludo :)

Hi +Paco M. is it possible to get the sheet music for this from you as you used it in the video. So far I can only find terrible quality versions and versions that are not the exact same as the one here. I would love to learn to play it :)

Not really. It means with some sad emotion and in a pure form. It's very hard to translate
