Like #27! Loved T.D.! He is the reason I became a Pitt fan at 6 years old, I have a Tony Dorsett PC for sure. Not even a Cowboys fan, but he looked good in that uniform for "America Team" Always wanted his Converse cleats when I was in knee-high football...lol One of my favorite all-time players both NCAA and professionally. I remember watching the 99 yard run against the Vikings like it was yesterday. Love the tribute John!! Well deserved and I agree the NFL doesn't give enough attention to their ex-players. 🏈 Really enjoyed the watch, thanks for sharing 👍👍until next time, have an awesome night 🤞out
@@MrJmangini I did hear something about this at one time or another, but was never really told all the details behind it. I am guessing with Pittsburgh being a steel producing blue collar hard working American made city that this may have something to do with it, but not very knowledgeable on the subject. Guess I'll have to look it up and find out for myself. Thanks for sparking my interest John. Have a great day
OMG !! Thank you sir 🙏 !! TD is my favorite player all time !! Only after Roberto Clemente 🇵🇷, Dorsett was poetry in motion !! Darrell Green of the Washington Redskins was the only man that could match his speed of that era .
Got his auto at the National this past summer in Cleveland. I think he's struggling with some health issues as people had to help him with the process. One of the few players I remember as a very young boy watching on tv. Great stuff John!
Well I have to say that my dad didn’t like him because he was a die hard WVU fan and didn’t like him because he played for the cowboys . But he did respect his skills and he always told me can nobody take that from him .
Awesome tribute, John. Nice card. 🤩 My wife was commenting while I watched this. Shame on me for forgetting to ask…..how is your daughter doing since all the western NC flooding?
He had that great spin move. Great player. Unfortunately for him, he had the misfortune of playing his career at the same time as the greatest running back of all-time, Walter Payton. If not for that he might be better remembered.
Auto rookie is excellent! The history of football and basketball are barely covered compared to baseball. What do you think is the prinary reason for this gap in interest / coverage?
I think THE major reason is the rule changes. Those changes have guaranteed the old player stats look like shit compared to the new players. Dr. J didn’t play shooting 3’s and Jerry Rice and Steve Largent didn’t play before the Mel Blount rule. Plus they keep adding games and making rules that allows quarterbacks to throw for way more yards and intentionally ground the ball.
@MrJmangini sounds about right. I think we have both stated a similar sentiment, compare players to their peers and not to different eras. I think the lack of historical perspective and rule changes makes for some very undervalued vintage cards in almost all sports that aren't baseball.
Loved Touch Down Tony D! Thanks for sharing.

Did you know the Steelers were asked to be America’s team first?

@@Andys_AtticMr. Rooney said we aren’t America’s team. We are Pittsburgh’s team!
Tony Dorsett was a household name. Dude was on everything when I was a little kid.
He was a superstar in Pittsburgh. Broke our hearts when he went to the Cowboys.

Nice video on Tony Dorsett. TD. I remember him very well towards the end of his career. The stories I've heard about him though. Enjoyed.
Do you remember that video game his last year when he was with Denver. No one could defend against him.
@@MrJmangini the first John Madden video game?!!
You hit the nail on the head. I just finished a Staubach bio. TD was discussed quite a bit. I want that rookie!
Nice tribute to Tony Dorset, John. One of the great running backs in NFL history.
Yes he was.
Awesome autographed rookie card John and quit trying to church it up it's still Dorset lol.😅🤣😁 Love that rookie card.😮😍🎉 Take care.👍🔥❤️💪👌

Being a Cowboy fan I loved Tony. I think I still have all his cards from My childhood, the only football cards that I kept.
The cowboys had some all time great RB’s in their history. My oh my how the game has changed since those days.
Gave a video like. Tony Dorsett could carry the rock, no doubt about it. Loved seeing those clips and great autograph card. Have a great Friday, John
You too my man
I love those clips.
Great card! Great player! My favorite Cowboys player. Also hadn’t heard Coach Landry’s voice in a long time. Great auto rookie card!
Great video! Tony was a little before my time, so thank you for the info!
That’s what us old guys are here for.
I just watched a documentary on tony dorset. super fast

WVU was my third favorite team behind Pitt and Penn State. I hung out in Morgantown almost every weekend for a few years.
Tony Dorsett destroyed Notre Dame
@@kurts6741 he sure did.
Awesome auto card of TD
Thanks

She was unaffected. Thanks for asking.

The greatest running back of all time was Gayle Sayers :) he returned kicks, caught passes and was the greatest runner.

Yes it was.
Are you a Pitt guy?
I was a fan of Pitt and Penn state growing up.
