- Another episode of the series where the animation graphics of two countries are compared, including logos, idents, news intros, and sometimes TV show openings, this time where a combined kingdom on an island in Europe against their prison colony after America gained independence.
None of the content featured is owned by me aside from the 'TheIridiumic138' intro and outro. These are used only for educational and entertainment purposes only to present the history of graphics.
The landmark models aren't done by me either.
I feel like Australia had a leg up UK for quite awhile here. Until the 2000s rolled around.
Needless to say they're just as good in general, extra props to Australia for being a smaller country and being able to pull it off.
@Lennon Kayden Nobody cares. Plus, isn’t it illegal to hack somebody’s account?
Well done! Can't wait to see the next one!
Have you done A United States vs. Canada one. If not, that could possibly be a maybe if you find enough logos.
I'd like to see United States vs United Kingdom. We've all heard of comparisons of American and British English, so how about a comparison of American and British motion graphics?
Could you also possibly do a COVID-19 themed logos compilation, especially with the 2020 logos shown here.
Maybe... I can do a logos during 2020 compilation
TheIridiumic138 Yeah, that would be a good concept as a what if scenario if COVID-19 did end the world. Maybe even do a Logos during 1919 compilation, as to reflect the logos used during The Spanish Flu, which of course is made up of Film Logos.
I don't think people would be able to tell the difference in 1919, but for 2020, definitely.
TheIridiumic138 Of Course. But yeah, for 1919, it would be a bunch of identical Silent Film Logos
7:22 shhhh it is my favorite logo! shhhh
Efftee Film Productions is Australia's version of MGM's Productions logo in a way
The announcer of that BBC ident from 1975 reminded me of C Williams.
Great video
If I had to pick which one wins each year in the format of a list. It would look like this:
1931: Australia. Maybe I shouldn't judge logos on how cute they are on this list, but common. It's adorable!
1935: UK. The concept of the logo is really neat. Australia did alright this year but not good enough to pass the UK.
1956: Australia. Both logos are simple, but Australia does it better.
1959: UK. ITC had some great logos and this is one of them!
1961: UK. Westward had some nice soothing logos. I wish they still existed.
1967: Australia. Both are kind of scary and a bit cheesy, but ABC made a better logo in 1967 and also introduced the classic ABC logo design!
1971: UK. The ITV regional idents were some of the best television idents for the UK.
1975: UK. Ah yes! The classic BBC1 mirror globe. One of the best BBC idents IMO.
1977: UK. Another one of my favorite BBC idents! Seven Networks idents were OK for the time but they were still quite cheesy.
1978: UK. Both were quite good for their time but I say that the UK takes this spot.
1979: Australia. While this logo may not have the best animation, the music is what makes it get to the top.
1980: UK. I love the Newsnight openings! They're some of my favorite news openings.
1981: Australia. This one is quite good and funky.
1982: Australia. I love both. It's kind of a tie but I will let Australia win this time.
1983: UK. Also a quite good news opening!
1984: UK. While the CGI is more cheesy than usual standards, it's definitely better than what Hoyts had.
1985: UK. Sorry Roadshow. Guild's logo is better.
1986: UK. In my opinion, SBS's logo is too long and that's why Channel 5 Video wins.
1987: UK. I feel like it's easy to tell that the UK would win this one.
1988: Australia. The CGI in BBC Video's logo is too cheesy. ABC wins again!
1989: UK. Another one of ITV's good idents!
1990: UK. The music gives me a feeling of nostalgia even if I did not see it when I was young.
1991: UK. Like 1987, the brits win by a mile. The 1991 BBC2 logo is one of my favorite on-screen logos! Ten's logo is still good tho.
1992: Australia. This is one of the most classic Aussie TV idents out there. Obviously, it's gonna win!
1993: UK. While I don't really like Sky, this is still better than what SBS had. (I don't hate SBS, okay?)
1994: Australia. Those are some really nice graphics! Also good animation, too! I do like the Fremantle logo, but this one is better.
1995: UK. The VCI logo has a really good feeling to it, just like the old TVC logos had!
1996: UK. While this logo is scary to some, it is one of my favorite cinema logos ever.
1997: Australia. NO. I'm not dealing with those TERRIBLE Bravo idents! Australia automatically wins!
1998: Australia. That Channel 4 has a creepy vibe to it. I feel like Seven should win this year.
1999: UK. Those Carlton idents are great! Sadly, it's around this time that ITV began phasing the regional stations out.
2000. UK. Even if this also has a scary vibe to it, this one uses it in a better way.
2001: UK. I don't like these idents that much but they still have the charm that the previous 2 BBC2 ident collections had.
2002: UK. I actually really like this logo. I'm actually quite sad that this was their last one.
2003: Australia. Both have that weird 90s like feel to them. I think Australia wins this one.
2004: UK. I genuinely don't like how ITV turned into ITV1 only to turn back into ITV some years later. Anyways, this logo is quite good and nice.
2005: UK. This ident is one of my favorite TV idents that has the Channel 4 name.
2006: UK. Another really good news opening from the Brits! The music is definitely the best part.
2007: UK. I really love these idents! Many say they don't, but I like them.
2008: UK. The CGI in this logo is fantastic! I also like the blue shades in it.
2009: UK. While it's quite short (because it is a TV production company) and has the usual millennial feel to it, I really like it.
2010: UK. Even if it is not the BBC, it is still a great news opening.
2011: UK. This is not my favorite Channel 5 ident collection, but that does not mean it is not good. In fact, I like it alot.
2012: UK. A nice recreation of the original red globe.
2013: UK. While the animation is somewhat alright, it's the music that makes the idents as good as they are.
2014: UK. At this point, it's obvious that I'm gonna make this one win.
2015: UK. While the logo is a little too psychedelic for me, it is still a good logo IMO.
2016: UK. The design of the logo is nice and all of the scenes have easy to understand meanings behind them.
2017: UK. A nice and creative way to make a Christmas countdown.
2018: UK. There's something so annoying about this ident collection and it's probably because of the removal of the two. Some idents are nice tho. Like this one.
2019: UK. I also like this ident.
2020: UK. Both of these ident collections are a really nice way to show how people live during the pandemic and how we stop it from spreading. BBC One has a more creative way of doing it.
My Conclusion: Both the UK and Australia did alright in the beginning, but then the UK got more advanced and essentially had beaten down Australia with their better animation and music.
The British ones are older than the Australian ones, and some of them are scary!
I'd love to see a comparison between ABC (later known as ATV) and ABC from Australia.
and ABC from the united states
UK is strong, but i find australia much interesting, like ABC being off-context with their logo, imagine showing a running goat then placing your logo on it.
what if there was europe vs africa?
Music used in the MGC intro and episode title (after the MGC intro)?
do usa vs brazil next
early
Edit: Can you do South Korea vs Japan?
Grabbing stuff from Japan is pretty risky...
@@TheIridiumic138 Why's that?
A lot of stations there don't like it when their logos are uploaded.
@@TheIridiumic138 Oh ok.
@@TheIridiumic138 hi
