I was born in 52, and I agree. The music, even Big Band and Doris Day, and all the wide scope of it all was amazing. I love listening to any and all of it.
Yeah, I long for the days I have never lived through. Especially because it was much less progressive and minorities were more often than not segregated away. Homophobia and racism is really missed by some.

What early years? LOL. Okay, it was the late 50s, early 60s, and this was a style called "Doo Wop." It began on the East Coast in NYC, and NJ, mostly. Explore Doo Wop a bit. There are a lot of beautiful, romantic songs of that time.
I was born in the 60’s and grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. Whenever I’d see anything from the 50’s, I’d tell my parents I wish I grew up in the 50’s. Now my kids see film of our time in the 80’s and tell me they wish they grew up in the 80’s. We sure had some good times back when!
The Diamonds were a group from Toronto, Canada, one of whom was a sound engineer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. They achieved 16 hits on the Billboard charts and were inducted into the Doo-Wop Hall of Fame.
This was released when I was 13 years old. Yes I'm bloody old. This was the age of crooners and then suddenly there was exciting music and girls, oh yes the girls in their wonderful dresses and beehive hair. Where are they now ? Life is so short. Live it to the full or you will regret it later.
Something happened along the way. Something very profound and sad between the 1950s and 1960s. The music that both kids and their parents enjoyed together suddenly changed and separated the two generations. It was closely followed with the Vietnam War which did irreparable damage to the country. I lived those years and truly miss all those great songs.

@@jackgibsxxx0750 I think it said in the caption that it was "Peyton Place" from 1957. I remember the movie from those years although I was only seven when it came out. The 50’s were incredible. Full of post-war optimism and people wanting to have fun and enjoy life. The cars, the fashion and the music were all about unrestrained joy, colour and creativity. The perfect antidote to the grey, destructive and ugly years of WWII. What a great decade 🏆👏👏
Chez Mcewan Yes, for the WHITE MEN. Women could hardly EVER get a job. You see on "I Love Lucy" that women were treated as brainless kitchen slaves. As a man, I find that highly offensive. While I liked this particular song--- most of the 1950s is full of "hokey" music....60s were better.
It was great for only America. It prospered after the war as it suffered no destruction, bombings or persecutions. Europe was devastated by allied bombings of both military and civilian properties. Displaced refugees were left with nothing, cities were completely ruined, food and housing shortages were everywhere. Everyone in Europe suffered after the war. While America grew and prospered. It was a terrible decade for others!
@@bonjourpierre4778 - I get your point, but that’s only half true. The USA helped Europe recover from the war with the Marshall Aid Plan.
