John Wesley was perhaps the most progressive of the Reformers. Not only did he believe in justification (conversion, being born again), he also WHOLEHEARTEDLY believed in entire SANCTIFICATION, and practiced and taught it. Both my parents, like Sister White and her parents, , came out of this beautiful tradition. Thank God for his devoted ministry. So sad that SO many have decided to go no further in study and acceptance of truth than he did. Instead they are now going down that dungeon of homosexual clergy. Have mercy, Lord. Please have mercy on us, Your creation.

Understanding the original language can be important for Bible study. But translations can be helpful for those who don't know the original language or don't have the time or opportunity to study.

It was during a series of years of a forty day fast that ended at the Fall Feast, that one year the focus was worship; studying the original word/s directed my life. In our local church regarding wednesday lesson about the land and sea beast, it has been asked whether an editors mistake has been made? First its says Rev 13 speaks of " the beast from the sea and the beast from the land" ( which is accurate) then its says "that this land beast is the same as the little horn". Can anyone confirm if this was a mistaken sentence? It caused a stir in our local church. Any clarification would be most helpful. Thank you God bless.

God sanctified the Sabbath and marriage, so is it going against the Sabbath to get married and have reception on Sabbath?

Yes, God blessed the marriage union and sanctified the Sabbath. To answer your question, it is not advisable for wedding and reception to be done on Sabbath. Here's why, weddings can be stressful and require a lot of work which won't be suitable on Sabbath. If we are not supposed to employ anyone on the sabbath according to Exodus 20:8-11, then that would hinder a lot of things necessary for a wedding to happen. Just an example, think of the food for the reception. How could all the food be cooked for the sabbath which the Bible asks us to prepare everything on the preparation day? I think it would be really inconvenient for wedding to take place on the sabbath day.

Thank you for the teaching. Please a question that's been on my mind: If Jesus Christ fulfilled the law, why should we still keep the Sabbath? Should our life not be one governed by Galatians 5 and if we have God's Holy Spirit in us, then we would bear the fruits of the spirit as stated in verse 22-23; in Romans 14:5, Paul forbids those who observe the Sabbath (these were no doubt Jewish believers) to condemn those who do not (Gentile believers). 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. There is a typo on page 66 - Discussion Question #2, of Lesson 9 - The Foundation of God’s Government. It states:
“How does an understanding of the judgment and the law of God harmonize with the fact that we are saved by grace alone?”
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God,”.
So, salvation is the gift of God, of grace through faith:
not of grace alone, but grace through faith; and,
not of anything of creation - - including self, works, talents, etc.
And so both, man’s salvation and the angel’s estate will be forever sealed on the day of Jesus’ return, by the very same bar of judgment: keeping the Commandments of God AND keeping the faith of Christ Jesus unto the very end: when every created moral being:
every holy angelic being,
every human being,
and every fallen angelic being,
will receive our eternal judgment and our eternal reward, that is with Jesus, when He returns. Hallelujah! Maranatha!!

The church is weak and inefficient because many of its members follow their own impulses, refusing to do the will of God. Not by the Spirit of God, but by another spirit, are they led. They know not the meaning of the written Word. When they bring into the daily life the principles of God's law, they will be able to say from experience. “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.”

One thing to be careful of is being prescriptive on the church and it’s members, sometimes because of our own observations or weaknesses, or gossip - better to go with what sister White says on church matters, like instead of ‘the church IS weak’ but “the church may appear weak, stumbling… BUT it is God’s instrument to do HIS work to usher in Christ”.
So let’s not lose faith because of the things we may see, remembering we ourselves are not perfect
