I'm still sitting on this dream and collecting bottle caps each and every day, trying to streamline my sources for when I can afford equipment. I agree that giving back to Precious Plastic is the right way to go about it, because Dave and the team opened my eyes and gave open source to us, the tools to at least start this into an income source when possible.
That's pretty much where I have been for a few years as well. One thing that I'd like to do but have no idea how to get started is to try to convince an administrator at a high school to make this a project for their students. The younger ones can collect and the older ones can melt, shred, extrude, etc. It would give them an idea how much plastic waste is generated, how much of it is actually recyclable, etc. and hopefully they would develop an appreciation for how much they may be contributing to the waste problem. I don't have any background in education nor have I actually done anything with the plastic so that's probably not going to happen any time soon.
A massive shout out to each person that has and are still contributing in developing Precious Plastics. You are Awesome!!! Together the Precious Plastic community can grow!
Happy Birthday! and thanks!! because it is because of you that Valumet exists. We are a startup that recycles plastic in Chile. We created a material called EcoMarmol, which looks very similar to marble but created from 3D Printing waste. We are just starting but we really want the world to know us to really make a change. Precious Plastic project served as inspiration to begin this search and through the crushing machines we were able to make our plan a reality.
Thanks so much for starting this project Dave, & happy 10 years going! I'm retired & watch RUclips a lot, just found Preciousplastic @ the end of your kamp season. Been seeing some of your machines here & there on RUclips, never realized you being behind them organizing, kudos from 1 Dave to another. Time is on your side, thank you
@@Precious_PlasticHQ I still have most of it. Don't see the containers anymore. Still usable. The coffee containers were repurposed for other storage solutions.
Happy MIlestone, @Precious_Plastic! This is a gem of a documentary-short but still comprehensive (kudos to all the conceptualizing, writing & editing, re-writing & re-editing such that 10 years is captured so very well in 20 minutes ü) Love the Retroactive component, too! You've been an inspiration to us who have been taught even as children to mind our trash and see how or what we could do with wast. Yes, any waste! until the "waste-of-waste" as I call it, have truly reached any functionality. Wait!-not until PP came along did we see that there still are possibilities =D So, there's hope for me, arm-stretching and perhaps finally diving into the PP mode (I give credit to where it's due: the lockdown did give me precious tieme for reflection). Anyhow, on to the next 10, and open-sourcing! Well done.
Great story and share. Awareness of time, work, ideas and people is a true eye opener about the possibility of creating a solution TOGETHER. Smartness dedication and technique are important factor, but here the inspiration is about a positive enduring movement that is capable of interpreting troubled times. Inspiration sometimes could sound cheesy, but imho it is also true that luck comes with fun and desire. Let's go for the next ten years and happy b'day Precious Plastic !!!! ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations to your 10-year anniversary. You guys are amazing!!! I’ve started noticing Precious Plastics two years ago and am slowly inching my way a into starting my own project using all of the brilliant advice, videos and documents you are supplying. A big THANK YOU for going through all of this effort to create something so wonderful. Hope I can give something back to the community soon.
Happy birthday Precious Plastic❤🎉. I'm so happy and lucky to have been part of the beautiful journey since may 2017, and being part of V4 team in the Netherlands. That was huge for me. Plastic waste is a global crisis, so happy to have been part of the people who are offering solutions. Anything plastic has become my passion, profession and area of speciality. I love you all Precious Plastic Community ❤❤ 🫂 🤗 . From 🇰🇪
Thank you for sharing about this wonderful movement and projects. Plastic recycling is something that I am passionate about, and it really bothers me to see that there is still a lack of awareness or will to recycle in so many parts of the world.

Dave, did you teach yourself to weld? I really want to build some of these machines and start producing beams and sheets cause there is almost nobody in America that really does it especially in the south. I am thinking about just buying a cheap welder and learning and wondered if that is what you did? Thanks
