Thank you so much for this video. I have been searching everywhere and this is the only video I can find that helps at all!

I have to do this myself. Waiting on drive and deck belts from Amazon. We "inherited" a 2012 LTX 1042 KW from the wife's uncle as he was downsizing and moving to a place that didn't require a mower. I had already replaced the safety/start switch and was trying out the tractor when it stopped moving (of course I had a row in the middle of where I was mowing still standing like a green mohawk haircut). The belt was still on the pulleys but it was trashed. I should be able to push it into the "garage" and do this on the concrete. In my shape, getting down on the ground/floor is easier than getting up of it (gravity helps on the way down). Thanks for the video, it is the must helpful out of the ones I have watched on getting this belt replaced. The others were certainly "interesting" though. I may try using my engine hoist to lift the tractor up enough so maybe I won't have to lay on the floor. We'll see if that is safe enough to do. I do have jack stands also. PS: I have a cousin, Glen Ackerman, he was in New Jersey, it has been years.

I am commenting as the video goes. I remember that. IMPACT. you had a cheapy but not a good one. $50 good deal------------- I have one that won't die. It just paid for itself Dave. Great video. Shows how hard these can be. Main drive belts suck I actually cut a slot in my JD frame to get a belt off. I have bent many tabs on stuff. . Are you laying on the ground??? I hate that. The camera work is great. Better than mine. You just saved a tractor.

how is it you have your tractor raised up for working on it? I think I saw someone just raise the front end up to 90 degrees to the ground, but I was worried about oil leaking or something like that, appreciate any advise

I just use a chain hoist that is attached to my garage rafters. You can raise the front pretty high without having to worry about oil leakage

Can you drive or run the mower without the mower deck? I just need a big property vehicle and dont need the mow deck.

Glad I could help. Apparently people don't like it when you bend the tabs. They would rather loosen the engine. I'd rather bend the tabs myself

Bending the safety tabs is BAD news take out the 4 engine bolts raise the motor the high th of 2x4 and the belt easily slips on and off. Then just lower the motor and put the bolts back. The whole job is an hour max.

Either an impact or have someone hold the flywheel while you're underneath
