    Very Smart! Its so disheartening these days to see people whining about the cost of these boats. they are a value at full price and you showed how being Financially stable and smart can save you money. I see many on the groups who complain about the pricing because they HAVE to finance it through Tracker to afford it. if you have to do that you shouldnt complain. its still a great value. I had one of the original Heritage models and got out of it because I didn't use it enough to justify it. I had kept my old boat for some rough places I like to fish and used it more so I came to the realization that I didn't need the new one when the old one could fish everywhere I wanted

    Nice boat. The Trackers have come a long way from the ones I fished out of as a kid. I love my Xpress boat and the way they ride, but I still say that no "bass style" aluminum handles rough water better than a Tracker. The only issue I still see with these boats that doesn't seem like they will ever get away from is the rod breakers that they install as factory. AKA the stand up cleats. I lost more rods to those things over the years than I ever did by stepping on them, catching them in a door, a tailgate etc. They just are perfect for breaking a rod tip.

    Great video! I bought the same boat in October, was able to get it out 4 times before winterizing it here in Wisconsin. Awesome deal, and it was the biggest I could fit in my garage. I upgraded to a Humminbird Helix 9 at the console, will be putting another Helix 9 on the bow this spring. I also upgraded to a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor for the ipilot capabilities. I highly recommend it, the spot lock function alone is worth it! Do you have a link for the lean-on seat you put up front? I’m looking to do the same.

    It is a great value. My only 2 minor complaints is no rod storage box or recessed trolling motor pedal.

    • @justjimtime1672
      @justjimtime1672  4 года назад +1

      agree on the no rod storage but the recessed pedal doesn't bother me at all because it seems to be more important for a cable pedal, once you switch to a TM like a Terrova with an electric pedal it doesn't need to move up and down so a recessed spot doesn't matter to me at all. in fact I like being able to move it where I want

    • @gregcampbelle3696
      @gregcampbelle3696 4 года назад

      @@justjimtime1672 Yeah, with the Terrova it is no big deal. The Edge's are a pain in the butt to fish without the recessed pedal pit, because the dang cable is so stiff. Good thing about the Trackers and the wood decks that everybody seems to hate, is that you can literally modify the deck how you want it. Making a trolling motor recess is incredibly easy.

      Clint Burt get a used one for 1/2 the price, never buy a brand new boat.. most people that get them are tired of paying that monthly payment and will sell them for the pay off.. I bought a 1986 18” Alumacraft for 1,300 that need restoring I put $2,000 in new plywood ,carpet ,paint for the boat and trailer. New decals for the motor a 16 vinyl wrap for the sides of the boat, 2 new fish finders with gps. New chrome wheels and tires, new minn Kota edge 45# thrust. Led lights. I replaced all the gauges. And made a new tinted windshield for it. And it’s paid for.

    • @justjimtime1672
      @justjimtime1672  3 года назад

      Im not one to really want to fish in anything annoying. I think it can handle 15 to 20 on a small lake but the bigger the lake the bigger the waves which are the real issue. I personally like to stay under 12-15. I find it hard to fish in high winds whether on a boat or land. Of course, putting it on the trailer is a little harder in this boat in a cross wind compared to a deeper heavier boat, but not dramatically, its kind of hard in all boats.

If money were no object, a deep V would be a little better but honestly not that big of a deal for me especially considering the cost and the fact I don't like to fish in extreme wind or very busy lakes. I have been out in both though, It handled fine but a deep V is better in that Category. If I had to do it over again I would do the same.

      Its Alliant Credit Union card. They are out of Chicago. Although I live within an hour, Ive never been. signed up online. You have to become a member which they say is free if you live or work in certain towns. I didn't. You can also become a member if you pay them like $5 which I think they wave. It's crazy. Their card is 3% cash back first year all purchases and the annual fee is waved. every year after is 2.5% all purchases and $100 annual fee which is still better than any other card for me, So Im going to stay with it for now. The have a few different cards. I think this one is the Signature Visa. Check it out.

      Oh Yeah and the rewards cash can be transferred to the checking or saving account you set up which are both free (need only one, but I have both). it takes a few days to get your reward money when ever you want it. then just use the credit card and transfer the money from checking to the credit card to pay it and get reward for spending your rewards.

    What kind of MPG do you get? 6 gallons seems too small

    • @justjimtime1672
      @justjimtime1672  3 года назад

      I dont remember the actual MPG, but it is very efficient, much more than 2 stroke motors. For one when out fishing all day I probably use trolling motor 90% of the time. I can probably go 5 days fishing without refueling. In most cases there is no need for a bigger tank. If you keep your boat on the water, maybe, but even then its simple to fill with a can. I would not upgrade to a bigger tank because if there is no need why add the extra weight plus the less gas saved over winter the better. I was surprised how fuel efficient it is. I always recommend anyone thinking of adding a second tank to instead switch to a bigger tank as its easier to manage one tank compared to two. before you change anything I would try it with the 6 gallon tank for a while first to see if you even think its necessary.

      Hello, I wish I had better new for you, but Tracker raised the price of the boat 5 or 6 thousand in one year. Although using the options to purchase the boat I used in the video will save you money no matter what the initial list price of the boat is. Also mine did not come with trailer brakes either and they really are not necessary with this boat being so light, Unless there is a law in your state that says otherwise. Fell free to ask me any other questions you might have. Have a good one!

    I am looking to buy a boat, there are many different ones between the 10k-12k range and that’s where I want to be at.
    This one has a lot of accessories and it is carpeted. I seen a lot of Lowe and grizzly aluminum boats that at the same pride with side console but that are only boat, motor, and trailer.
    Why are they the same price? Is this boat made cheaper? I just want to make sure I’m getting the best quality can for the range I want. I have my own fish finder and trolling motor I can add myself

    • @justjimtime1672
      @justjimtime1672  4 года назад +1

      There are lots of reasons. The boats your looking at could be thicker aluminum, higher overhead. some people probably think they are a better brand. The Trackers have had their share of haters, but the warranty is great and they have a cult like following. The Bottom line is you will get the most boat for your money with a Tracker Classic XL. I Have heard they sell them at almost a break even point. Sure Lund, Lowe and Alumacraft are probably better boats boat you will pay a lot more money for one. I've owned a Lund, it was great. I recently priced an entry level Lund. It was what you describe, boat motor trailer only and what you didn't mention was what size motor. when I looked it was a 20Hp motor where the Tracker Classic XL comes with a 50 (I know it says 40, but no one really gets the 40 with the 50 costing a few hundred more). Keep these things in mind. yeah the trolling motor and fishfinder suck and I changed both before it ever hit water. you can sell them for a few hundred. So for $11,203 (my price) OTD you get Boat, 50 hp motor, carpet, 4 seats, 2 batteries and wiring, console, break away tongue. Wiring to bow for trolling motor and fishfinder. fire extinguisher. The only thing you will need is a battery charger and life vests period. unless, like me you change the electronics and trolling motor. For me, I wanted another boat and the bottom line tiller Lund after adding trolling motor, electronics, seats and other essentials probably would have been over 20,000.

      I’m a marine mechanic, I’ve seen a lot of boats, there is nothing glaringly wrong with Tracker boats. They use the same accessories and engines everyone else uses, the actual construction of them is sound. They do things to cut costs obviously but a lot of the things they do actually make the boat better. They have rotomolded consoles and seat bases, rotomolded stuff looks cheap yes, but it’s nearly indestructible. The finish and welds may not be pretty, but if you don’t care about image and want to get out there in a NEW boat, buy one and be happy.

It will fit if you turn the motor to the extreme right or left. It's not easy to measure with the motor length being so high off the ground, but the best I can get is 19'8 to 19'9

      1.The Black Friday add was out saying you get the $400 gift card just prior to me purchasing. 2. Using gift cards will always give you bass pro rewards points anytime of year. 3. The 10% discount on gift card purchases was just luck, a week after I put a deposit on the boat the salesman called and told me about it and said I should come in a pay with gift cards that day. 4. My credit card had 3% cash back all purchases which I knew. I think these might be common things given out around Black Friday. If you are interested you should go there a week or two before Black Friday. put a boat on hold without paying the $500 deposit. They told me I could put a boat on hold without the deposit so when the sale started I could then put the deposit open it and get the deal. everybody else waits for actual Black Friday. by that time they are busy and out of boats. the you just call in on Black Friday with a credit card number and put a deposit on the boat you previously put on hold. No crowds, No sold out boats, and get the Black Friday deal. then pay attention to see if they offer a 10% off all gift card purchases with in the next couple weeks for Christmas sale.

Compared to my other boat it seems pretty good. Definitely a good value even after you change out the stock electronics and trolling motor. It's comfortable in my garage, I'm sure it will be on the water as well. The only thing you really have to do is add a battery charger and life vests, maybe a bow fishfinder. What you'll want to do and probably should is battery charger, life vests, change helm fishfinder, add bow fishfinder and change trolling motor to a Terrova or better.

      @@michaelmccullough1726 There's a couple of reasons. The stock trolling motor is not very powerful and can struggle in strong wind or current. Its a 45lb thrust 12 volt system. Most people want to upgrade because of not only getting a more powerful one 55lb to 80lb thrust, both great upgrades but also the technology you get with Terrova or Similar model. The stock trolling motor basically has speed from 1-5 and goes right or left via foot pedal, Nothing more. The Terrova has a foot pedal and a remote control you can clip[ to your belt or a lanyard. It has a feature called Spot lock which when you select it it keeps you on the spot your at via GPS like a virtual anchor, I never even use a real anchor anymore. It can remember trails you take and repeat them using auto pilot. It can remember the places that you use spot lock on and take you back to them. You can push a button and have your trolling motor keep driving in the direction you choose toward a specific point, like aim at a tree across the lake hit auto pilot and it will take you to that tree adjusting for wind and current so you don't have to make constant adjustments, it does it for you. The more advanced ones can connect to a hummingbird fishfinder and follow the contours on the map. They have transducers built into them for the fishfinder on the bow. They also deploy easier. the stock trolling motor has a rope you pull to deploy. its kinda hard and they are known to break occasionally. the Terrova has lift assist. you step on it and gently lift in and out. the higher Ulterra and Ultrex deploy and stow themselves. All this comes at a cost thought. The stock trolling motor retails for a few hundred where as The terrova is between $1500-$2200. For a lot of boaters this is a no brainer up grade. Sorry for the long response. Check out some videos out there, you'll see the benefit pretty quickly

    Can you explain how the battery charger works?

    • @justjimtime1672
      @justjimtime1672  4 года назад +1

      You have 2 to 3 batteries on your boat. I for starting the motor and powering your fishfinder, aerator, bilge etc. and 1 or 2 for trolling motor depending on whether you have a 12 or 24 volt trolling motor. Stock is a 12 volt. You need to buy a battery charger the mounts in your boat with as many banks as you have batteries. The motor will charge the battery that is used to start it but fishing boats dont run the motor long enough to charge it well since you use trolling motor mostly, and doesn't charge the trolling motor batteries at all. So you mount the charger in your boat by the batteries. it permanently connects to each battery and has a plug built in that when you are at home your boat is always plugged into your house power to charge the batteries and keep them maintained so your batteries are always charged and keeps your batteries lasting longer by providing a trickle charge to them. I have a video that shows my charger on RUclips as well if you search mt channel you will find it.

If there is no longer a huge price difference I would go with a higher quality boat. Not that this boat is bad, It's been great for me, but I've owned a Lund and this boat and The Lund was better quality over all, Of course you get what you pay for normally

      you could use a couple, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are transferring it to a loan or paying them off afterwards.
