"Magma" from Gojira's "Magma" album (2016).
It's been a while since I covered Gojira I think. I always wanted to cover Magma, but whenever I would look at the tabs, I would end up thinking "pff this is too crazy". Turns out, Jean-Michel does not play those triplets in the fast intro riff. He doesn't follow the guitar at all times. Anyway, I didn't change the tab a whole lot, but I feel like I really changed the part at 3:23 quite a bit. There are no live videos because they have never played this live. Probably has to do with those guitar harmonics? Anyway, I felt like transcribing it like that makes the most sense.

For a split second I thought this was gonna be Magma by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, off of the album Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms, and Lava. I would now like to suggest some KGLW, and marvel at how much quicker it would have been to type that if they'd stop making albums with Fiona Apple levels of long titles... Except I don't want them to because then I couldn't be proud of myself for remembering the full name :')

Why aren’t you using your B string? Maybe if it’s so useless, just retune to EADGC?

It's about accuracy. Gojira is always on a 4 string bass so transcribing it for a 5 string bass would be pointless for most people. I use the B for other covers :)
