Ok, I am 81 years old, Back in the dark ages, I was a division 1 player but now I don’t have the strength to get the ball to the goal from the free throw line, so I started shooting with 2 hands. My form is to get the guide hand to work exactly like the right hand so the follow through is exactly the same for both hands so now I can make a respectable percentage 3 or 4 feet beyond the free throw line. I am just trying to shoot around with my grandsons. Just wondering if any of your readers had similar experience.
Na, but w grandpa hope your grandons appreciate you still being able to hoop with them and being there for them along the way
The fact that at 81 you are still going on the court to play with your grandsons is amazing.
I hope I have that determination at 81. Inspired by your comment.
Legendary
So inspirational 🥲
Thanks it improved my shooting significantly i can shoot everyone now
this isnt for amercians

Omg it actually worked , I can see a real improvement, the thing that ruined my shooting form was the wrist, i had break it even more like you did and now I notice a real accuracy improvement
Im 37 never touched a basketball in my life skateboard and music took over im now trying tnx for the tips.
You guys deserve atleast ten million more . You‘re a whole group of coaches for basketball players and your videos are amazing . I started basketball and had the ugliest shooting now it‘s decent . Still not good but much better . I don‘t have a basketball and I only play it at school . And because of this I can‘t do your exercises and even without it helped me so much . So thank you for your great videos ❤❤
Try starting some youtube videos. You will get some money then.

You can buy the Wilson forge for outside, it’s good and it isn’t expensive 😊
Great video, been teaching my 9 year old proper shooting mechanics, and 100% agree about the loaded wrist, we have been trying to get get use to it.
I’m ten and for three years I’ve been trying to get good form and now I have it thanks to this video highly recommend
buddy if you’ve been playing since 7 and stay consistent and play 3-4x a week you will get good, make sure you get some nice healthy food in and you sleep 8 hours a night. Keep your body healthy and agile and lessen how much junk you eat
got perfect form but i don’t have the strength to get a 3 pointer
I thought u ment u were ten for 3 years
Same
@@ikobobiskinghey I know this is 3 months later, but I would tell you to not worry about it. Until you’re strong enough to shoot 3s with good form every time, don’t shoot them. Shoot where you can use good form from. The strength comes with age. You just need to wait. If you shoot from far enough away that your form gets worse, it can make your form worse even for shots you are strong enough for. So trust me, don’t shoot shots you’re not strong enough for. You will get strong enough when you get older.
legend, i just made it to the NBA from this video. :D
Messing, im from Wales UK, and i craved aiming sports, like darts i use to play. So my ball arrived today :) so will be having fun and burning calories.
I'm in 7th grade and made my jv team last week and my shooting has been a little off lately so this helped me alot
The loaded wrist was something I wasn’t doing before I watched this video. Thanks!
This video actually makes your shooting really good. I just dropped 18 points today!!! Crazy

Also from What I’ve Seen some players do If they are short Is leaning back slightly while shooting to get a better arc
Really good guide, I have been struggling with my shooting accuracy for months now and this video has helped me improve all aspects
This video helped my shooting sooooo much btw I’m 11 and trying to get on a good team
Samee
How did you know
Important to every moves and to the Middle of court is how shooting in the basketball properly
I’m excited to share this with my son. Thank you!
This is a great video! I love your thorough explanation of each step and how you show good and bad examples/ habits. Thanks again, this video really helped my son out.
This is actually so helpful because I just started to play basketball so I I really don’t know how to shoot
Great content. love the vids. Keep em coming
Tnx G know I’m bricking even more..
Tysm I shot 5 three pointers in a row!!
thanks for the good vidio and training guide
Yo thank u so much for the vid! But is it possible to give a detailed breakdown of the U shape method? (Namely the transition from the U to the release square to the basket) ❤
Thanks bro been struggling with my shooting for a while
Thank you so much for this guide i have a bad shooting form and my coach wont teach me how to shoot properly but u teached me how to shoot thank you❤
I never learned to shoot without pushing with two hands I was always a slasher to the basket or attack the rim type of player as a kid in AAU the two hand push shot helped but when I got in high school, I became too strong and I have to flip the whole shot and just never learned
My classmates do shooting the wrong position they use 2 hands when they shoot and i know it is more easy when you use 2 hands but i do it the right way thanks for it.
I just needed help with hand placement on the ball because I keep on changing where I put my hand on the ball
Wow thank you! 3 people are in ICU thanks to your advice coach👊🏾
Thinking aboy starting basketball now
Go for it!
Ye do it
Do it broski I’m not fat or overweight but I haven’t been active in so long ya know. It gets you moving and it’s one of the easiest sports to get into especially if you find a court that’s welcoming to beginners.
This tutorial was the perfect guide!
thanks coach❤❤
I’m a female and never thought I would watch this 😂 I love basketball ❤
I was curious to see if he was gonna use standard form or that side of the head steph curry form
This vid made me shoot better in seconds
this is dope, thank you!
Fantastic video keep it up!!
Ayo bro thank u so much keep doin watch u doin this helped do much
Thank you....this is very. helpful for a beginner like me.
Any tips how to shoot with the base of your finger tips and how to release while following through straight also how to flick it at the same time
How to do with topspin bcuz for me its easier but i cant really find my placement. I cant find 4he flaw neither. For me topspin is Just more comfortable
Thank you so much man that rlly helped a lot
Whenever I release the bal from that height, I never seem to have the strength to shoot it from behind the three point line. Is this because my legs aren’t in sequence?
I agree with you, I can never seem to shoot accurately behind the three point line. The aim for me is really good, but the strength needs working on. I asked one of my friends about this, since he has really good shooting ability and I’ve seen him shoot halfcourts before, and he told me it was about the arm strength and all that. I’m not sure about the legs but my friend told me it was the hands.. but im not sure if he’s a reliable source.. just telling you what I know 😂
Yes, it's all legs and how smooth your overall motion is.
Also more practice will make your wrist flick stronger.
Either your set point is to high or your not adding enough legs and arm strength. If you’re gonna shoot further you want to have a low set point but not so low you mess up how you form looks just not placed as high as you would normally have it when shooting close to the rim.
Thank you so much
I'm struggling basketball so I keep going
Very great insightful video , the only 1 thing I disagree with is to put your strong hand's leg in front because it's put you out of balance as opposed to 1 feet 🦶 next to the other ...
Normally I shoot with my ball going up through the centre instead of my dominant hand side, but I think this worsens my shot, since one of my eyes are not able to see the rim when I release. Should I stick with my initial form or change it up?
Honestly I’m the type of person who preaches just do you. The cleanest form doesn’t always equal the best shot. That being said you should switch it up!!! There’s a reason most NBA players have the typical shooting form. It’s what works best for most! If you had to search up this video and ask this question in the comment it means you need a change. It comes with time and it’s a pain to redo your whole jump shot, but it’s definitely worth it! Keep grinding man!!
Try setting the ball slightly on the side of your head like how to Steph curry does it. At first gonna feel weird but you gotta build the muscle memory I use to have the same problem until I readjusted my form instead of straight in the middle mine is slightly towards my left side sense I’m a lefty
Thanks this was great
Coach hw can get my shooting hand under the basketball every time I shoot
Okay here's a question I've always had. Can you be a great shooter if you have small hands? As we know, typically basketball players are big, long guys. Genetically gifted in that way. I'm 5'10" with small hands.
Thank you for everything❤
This tips are great
Thank you so much broo
Tysm
You can also use your middle finger, works better for certain players (definitely including me)
I like your mechanics shit on point
I'm a lefty to😊😊❤
Thanks man!
I am a new hooper like when I was kid I had surgery so I couldn't do sports until I was 10 but I still didn't hoop till today since it summer I wanna try new things
Thanks to improve my shooting 😀😀😀😀
What about the legs? How much bend in your knees?
Any videos for people like me? That shoots with the right hand but i'm left handed and my dominant eye is left. Still cant figure out my shot and form 😭
How do you have a dominant eye?
Thank you so much...i literally just realized i had been shooting incorrectly my entire life😂😅
now my friends cant make fun of my jumper
Haha silly jumper
Not friends mate
I feel like your thumb on your shooting hand hasto be used at least a little?
Any backspin on that ball?
I had a game before this and I made 3 points shoots that is so much
Why did you flip it🙆♂️ left handed hoopers out here too bro
There are more right handed people
Sup. Lefty too
lol facts
Business decision nothing personal
Sup bro
Im surprised more coaches aren't teaching players to do 1 handed shots. If you think about it most players dont shoot well either because they cant balance the ball well in their hands while in their shot path thus they cant shoot straight, or they arent strong enough with 1 arms so things like pushing the ball too hard or offhand comes into play.
Nice, but use of legs should have been included, especially as younger players with a lack of physical strength was mentioned (in relation to the guide hand problem leading to two handed shooting). See at 5:17 how the coaches heels come way off the ground even on a short shot. Young kids are going to struggle if they're using just their arms or upper body.
whats the scoring workout
Nice 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
alr! imma try this out at school
I need help with my range 😢
Add more from your legs
Havin problem where should the ball be when i start upper release? Like should it be on top my eyebrow or should i look over the ball
Around ur eye but u definitely shouldn't be looking over the ball
And I hope you go get 10 million subscribers
drills to fix feet position ?
When I put the ball high I can’t get any power got any tips?
Are you using your legs and arms at the same time to generate power? Is so than maybe your set point to high needs to be lower try lowering little by little until you find your sweet spot maybe that help hard to give good tips without a video of your form
@@supreme5166I release the ball at my eyes or nose I have a set point jumper
@@supreme5166 I think it’s my mind cuz I feel like I have a limit to how far I can shoot even a inch away from it I can’t shoot
@@EvanProds125 takes time man keep at it you’ll get it man just keep working and don’t give up until you see progress and don’t get in your own head
@@supreme5166 ok
hey im left handed but i want to learn to shoot righty but im some hot dooky when shooting righty should i just stay lefty?
if your good with your left hand, why are you trying to shoot with your right?
Vidoe for smaller guards to be more physical and dominate please.
Easy solution... Get taller
weight room
Great job❤
Weight room and this is coming from a short guard I started 4 months ago and I've been more physical in games
If you want to have more physical presence, I'm afraid the only solution is hitting the weight room in the gym.
like sometimes i dont have enough power to shoot perfectly even if I want to any tips?
Try weightlifting
Use your legs more. If you get the rhythm down right you will have the power.
Also just more practice. Your wrist flick will get stronger over time.
yo what if im only good at one legged jumpers, contact shots, and pull up jumpers
work on your release timing when u jump

thank you now I'm scoring 20 points a game
As a fellow lefty:
“Yes yes yes!!! (Flipped for right handed shooters) “NOOOOOOOO”
Nah fr there’s enough vids for right barely any for us lefty I’m a visual learner so I’m sure you get my point😂
fellow lefty here :D
Hi bro I once saw that great shooters like trae and steph they don't always load their wrists, instead put it on the side or top and load it on the way up. I heard it's because of our body's muscles not being build to generate as much power when the wrist is loaded.
Is this true and can I do this as well? Because loading my wrist actually feels really stiff to me
he said it’s bad to load your wrist
Loading the wrists is a very good thing but don’t OVERLOAD ur wrists to the point it doesn’t feel comfortable. Just load your wrists to your personal preference/comfortability and go from there
Loading ur wrists too much makes ur hand feel stiff but just loading not too much makes it a lot more bettwr
what about old hoopers that are new to basketball?
Does anyone know what the shoe is
This video is very helpful tysm I will look at more vids for more tips,NBA if you see this get this guy an MVP
Is that at 8gradys in abq???
Idk why every tutorial I watch on how to shoot says put your index and middle finger on the air pump hole that makes sense but not really because if someone passes it you gotta line it up on the air pump hole
It's just to get used to the placement. With time you will be able to put your fingers in the middle without looking
Here after watching 2024 Team USA Men's Basketball beat France for the Gold. Curry went crazy near the end 😂
Left power!!!
thank you bro
thanks for the advice but i dont think in a game u have enough time to find the needle
If you put in the work when you don’t have games and stay consistent it’ll come to you naturally without have to find it every time
my bumbass zoned out so i goutta rewatch da video
Kinda looks like Jamal Murray

yeah
Jamal Curry 😂
