And I will learn piano completely and play you even more songs.

Perhaps because it tells the exactly opposite story from most of the anime. In most of the most popular anime (like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Fairy Tale, One Piece, JoJo etc.) fighting or war is made so as to make us excited. But in the case of Violet it's made to shove us the harsh realities of war. The loss of the loved ones, the suffering of their families, the weight that the surviving soldiers have to carry......all of that makes this anime an anti-war story. Perhaps the best moment in the anime that represents this is when Violet realizes what Lieutenant Hoggins meant when he said that she is burning, when she realized that by "executing her operations" she was killing the people who too had their families, families who too lost their loved ones.......and all of that because of her. Perhaps that moment is when she realized what the love is, as a emotion for a person that you are afraid the most to lose. It's a beautiful story truly and the one that most accurately portrays the feelings of it's character, as well as the feelings of those who have been to war. Truly a masterpiece!

man, the last episode tore me apart... twice... The ending was interesting though because it leaves it up for grabs as to how we want to interpret it; some say that she found Gilbert because of her reaction, however I think that she stopped short of saying her name because she finally realized that she is worthy of carrying her name, as she starts a new chapter in her life... we don't know for sure; a side story will come September 2019 and the movie is scheduled for January 2020... the movie is said to be a direct continuation afaik
