I did a scarf that had lots of tight folds. I needed it to be between the smooth preview and non smoothed for our game. I still wanted the control that the low res mesh gave me. However when applying the subdiv there would be clipping unless I added even more resolution. Just a specific scenario where I had to use both. But its true that the end result is what matters and subdivided mesh is closer to that.

@@Xirpzy Yep, that is a good example where you probably wanna have subdivision on when creating more accurate forms
