- Have you ever pointed at the screen and said this when watching Shark Week on the Discovery channel?
This very thing happened to me one time, although not in this particular video.
This is a very cool close call vid from expert kayak fisherman Mark McCracken.

@@oneofthosepeople2101ye there’s been almost no hammer head attacks from what I’ve read, I think it’s cause that weird head of theirs does some sort of electrical stuff to identify food, so it’s really good at telling what’s good and not good to eat - take this with a grain of salt I ain’t a marine biologist
I was doing some research a few years ago about a kayak to fish from in the saltwater. One of the things I was interested in, was coloured kayaks that sharks seemed more interested in. I can't remember what colour it was from the research I did, but it was either yellow or orange from memory. Impressed how that guy kept his nerve fending those sharks off, sitting on his shark biscuit.
I believe that colour is known as Yum Yum Yellow. 😂

fishing is inherently dangerous. Which is why even a state like California with some of the most strict gun laws in the country allows open carry while fishing. Shit just like this could be solved with a good buckshot to the dorsal fin. Seriously no joke I’ve had a straight up near smack down with a mountain lion. I wasn’t carrying at the time. @@hunterbunn1404 It’s possible it’s over 100 feet where he’s at just because lands right there don’t mean shit around Alcatraz prison the water is 43 feet deep and under the Golden Gate Bridge It is 350. In the Bahamas you can go 27 miles offshore and still it only be 30 feet deep. So how far you are from shore don’t always come into play for water depth.

This has piped up in the algorithm again and I watched it again and there’s a quote from a film about requiring a somehow different water going vessel trying to find its way out once more
back in the 70's a study on shark attacks on swimmers was done and it was found (at the time) that over 80% of the swimmers had something in common. They wore what was called "Yum-Yum Yellow" bathing suits or an Orange bathing suit.
Clearly there are far more reasons for a shark to attack a swimmer depending on the circumstances but as a fisherman, I use Chartreuse and yellow baits often because fish hit them. It stands to reason that the yellow kayak your in is that perfect shade of yellow to attack the attention of something hungry enough to think it can make a meal out of it.

Your POW is corroborated by one particular incident who occurred in WSl surf final in Jeffrey's bay South Africa . Mick Fanning was "attacked" by a 10 feet great white shark , as he was on his surfboard the shark came at his contact , he fall from his board and punched several time the shark on his head and eyes , the shark flew and jets assist came and pick up Mr Fanning , after that the fact his board was spray paint under deck in a bright yellow color to give the judge a clear view that he was surfing on the rail and his maneuvers were radical and powerful. Then local shark specialist from research center pointed the fact that this particular "attack" was more triggered by curiosity of this young shark and by the fact that shark don't seen the colors like human , in this case yellow fluorescent colors had excited his curiosity .
