- ▶︎▶︎ Mercedes is planning a huge upgrade package for Imola and it seems like the Silver Arrows have a little bit of better understanding as to why the car’s performance is so off-balance at the beginning of 2024. However, with many other teams also bringing a lot of upgrades, and with the initial step of the Silver Arrows not being nearly as close as the one of Ferrari and McLaren, could we see an actual improvement from the team, and if so, who would lead the charge ahead, Russell or Hamilton?

48 races (22 races during 2022 season, 22 races during 2023 season, 4 races during 2024 season)

Maybe they should be looking at the simulator, maybe try updating it's software or switch it off and back on again, seems to work for everything these days 🤣🤣🤣

I'm sure this will be even better than the race-winning upgrades you talked about before the last two races.
Not gonna watch this video but it’s incredible that people still think merc can pull anything off this season..
What the hell they are doing in that factory that their sim data is so much better and faster, but in real life track environment, their car is basically a tractor 🚜

They only good thing that came from Japan was somehow wether by setup changes or by luck, the car was bouncing through the high speed corners. If they can get on top then maybe they will have a direction to go in!!
At this point why even mention upgrades to the public? Everyone has lost faith that any change that happens will make the car faster

I'm no Adrian Newey (not even close), but if reality is so far off from the sim....then the sim is the issue like you say.

I do not lose hope that this great team, winner of 8 constructors' world titles (record) can fight and continue developing this W15 and that our hope as Mercedes fans is set on 2026 with the new regulations and now that this disastrous era of ground and floor effect is behind us, that the truth, these cars are horrendous, And everything was designed for Red Bull to be champions, but this is going to be dug in 2026. May God grant that this team returns to the top in 2026 and that what remains of this era until 2025 can fight with dignity.

I'll believe it when it happens. Toto Wolff has been crying wolf over this for ages. Mercedes need to allocate more time, effort and a big chunk of their budget to getting a better simulator, otherwise they could be floundering for ever.

No. Mercedes are losers and will be until 2026. There's absolutely no way they can magically get faster than Aston, Ferrari, or McLaren in one weekend. The only way they'll be faster is if those 3 teams hit a standstill in development. Those teams have shown consistent improvements weekend after weekend where Merc are a consistent mid-tier midfield team. Other top teams have 1 or 2 issues where Merc has more and are still experimenting with the same amount of dumbfounded thoughts on what could be happening since 2022.
As a Merc fan, it's time to hang it up and move on. Expectations for performance are way below Aston and McLaren.
