I was waiting for the driving iron set up but no go
Yeah I thought I was missing something there as well. ha.
Snap
Same
Me too. What a waste of time
Yeah me too 😂
Did u forget to talk about the driving iron sir?😁
Hi Matt. Thought I'd just mention that by adopting your great tips that I won my first comp this season wahoo !! Please keep them coming, thank you
Could not have needed this video more today. Have been struggling with both and haven’t been able to fill a big gap in my game.
@4:00 you had it correct. I make a nice little easy swing and it goes 300 yards each time. Great video 👍🏻
I'm really enjoying using my 4H hybrid at the moment, using it off the tee on a few occasions to get a favourable 2nd shot location.
Any chance you could do a vlog on playing out of a divot? et-up - club selection etc?
Cheers
This is awesome! Very helpful
Did I miss the part on the Utility iron?
Thanks for these tips
Great video Matt, I took some notes, because I could always use help with the hybrid, and I’ve got a scramble fundraiser tomorrow, we wanna go LOW!!
needed this thx
Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi Matt, great video per usual. Question: what about the position of the hands? Thanks
7:26 I think you need to talk to Rick Shiels because he said hitting it out of a little divot like that is perfect for the hybrid/rescue club. I just invested in a Hybrid, so looking forward to using it.
Great video Matt. Hitting 3 iron or 3H (19-20˚) is usually aimed at better ball strikers. Could you focus in a follow-up video on the use of a 5H or 6H (26-30˚) for ladies or higher handicappers that have a 6 iron or 7 iron as their longest? Thanks!
Matt, I usually through a hybrid in as a rescue club in the rough. Mixed success but usually better results than a wood or long iron. I guess you are saying it really depends on the amount of grass ? Take your medicine , play a lofted iron,if it’s too deep, have a go with a hybrid in semi rough.
Love your content, I took up golf 3 months ago and these videos help with my confidence and helped me get to my 20 handicap.
That’s brilliant paul great work
20 handicap in 3 months is awesome. How is the game coming along now?
I have been using a Cobra Speedzone 4H but have lost total confidence with it lately. Put a TaylorMade SIM driving iron in my bag now and its a game changer. Play it very much as a normal iron and I am consistently getting 200 yards off the tee with good flight and “relatively’ straight
My Cobra baffler 3 hybrid is 200 yards, straight down the middle about 20 feet high. It is a magic club.
So where was the driving iron instructions? Haha I mash w/my U510 2-iron, so I replaced my hybrid w/it a couple yrs ago. More consistent & MUCH deeper.
So the same set up and swing applies to my 3 iron? Thanks in advance!
Great video Matt. Love my 4 hybrid. Often my go to club off the tee if I’m struggling with driver and without doubt my club of choice for anything 200yrds+ from the fairway.
Yep great club to fall back on
Same exact story for me. Lol. Most rounds I’ll leave my driver in the truck, lol. Depending on what course I play. Tight fairways, there is absolutely no way I’m swinging my driver
Thanks, Matt. Another clear and helpful lesson. So many things to remember, but I am getting there. I played my 1st 9 holes last week and shot 55. I 3-putted 8 of the holes! Terrible. If I had 2- putted, like I should have and could have, my score would have been 47 for my 1st time out. You are helping me be successful. Cheers!
You're going to have 3 putts for a while yet. Consistent 2 putting comes from practice and experience on the course.
Bear in mind also that a lot of those 3s can be as a result of your ball's distance from the hole when you're on the green.
@@diogeneslantern18 - Good news. I played my 2nd time and shot a 50. I even had a par on one hole!
I am working on my swing speed, but I paid for a full set of irons 4-PW and I'm going to learn how to hit that 4 iron pure.
Ummm, where was the driving iron?
Utility iron best for me then 2,3 or 4 iron, could never get the hang of a hybrid
With hybrid irons do you swing like a normal iron shot or do you sweep the ball away?
I can’t hit my driver straight or consistently. My go to club is my 4H. I absolutely love the club. I will 4H to 4H all the way down the fairway lol. Makes getting birdies harder but par an bogeys are achievable. Just need to dial in the driver and I would be a happy camper.
Same lol what you playing off?
@@daman1810 blue tees. Most times that’s like the 63-6500yd
My dude you NEED to be cranking out those drives if you want to start scoring. Read _Every Shot Counts_ :)
I quite enjoy my hybrids, have rearranged the top end of my bag and you won't find an iron until my 5 now.
Matt what happened to driving iron tips
Great content I view a lot of it when training and before a round. Question: what is the best cure for inconsistent wood and iron swings.
Hi Mat,
I like my hybrid though I have thought of getting a driving iron. But at my local store they recommend that if you have a lower swing speed then 105/110 you should not buy a driving iron. What is your thoughts on this? I hit around 100 mph.
Not true mate, sim dhy is soo easy to use, I have 3, 4 and 5.. My driver speed is around your speed, my 3 dhy is as easy as my 9 iron, don't be fooled with old school ideas, clubs are so forgiving now
@@paulnutbrown9836 Thanks Paul for your answer. Since I wrote that comment I found that out my self. But, I get provoked that salesman at a Golf store do not have better knowledge.
So if ball landed in an old divot or in the rough, if not using a hybrid should I be using an iron?
Yep if it’s a bad lie use some loft to get out of it
Where’s the driver iron set up!?
Genuine question, is Matt sponsored by Mizuno? Or just a big big fan?
Clothing ambassador 👍 no sponsors for clubs
All about hybrid . DI ignored.
Where’s the driving iron?
Terrible. You never teed up the driving iron. Why did you even put it in the description?
Every fckn one is telling me a completely different set up. Total bollox.
I like malaska golf for the authority in golf instruction until I book a lesson with a real professional.
