Smart way: Use bungee cords which will flex in the wind and thus reduce pressure on the eyelets that rigid rope would introduce. It’s good water proof material at that price, others are x5 times more expensive.thank you, please suggest other products that are superior but low cost if you can do so. Funny it’s not raining in Ireland on day of your test.
Lol yes!
By pure coincidence, I have stumbled on this video, a day after one of these exact tarps dropped onto my door mat! I have yet to unpack it today and try messing around with it. Good heads up on what to expect, although for the money and look of it in the advert, it is pretty much what I was expecting anyway. I am sure it will be perfect for my use as it will be a back up tarp to use with my truck as a sun shade and occasional wet weather rig from the roof rack. It may end up in a canoe once in a while, but probably too bulky for that. Thanks for the fun review.
Excellent, glad I could help. Thanks for the great comment
Good fair review - you take your chances with military surplus and and it looks like you got a Friday build... Keep the content coming.
Cheers buddy
"I've been hammered lots of places" lol
Lol
Well, I guess there is sometimes a reason an item is the cheapest. Glad you gave it a whack and it pulled itself back together. Those cheap grommets are always a failure point for me on this type of tarp. I don't use them anymore, but I had (might still have) a kit for replacing them as they failed. It'll make a good ground sheet or painting tarp, if nothing else. You and Bruno stay well over there.
Cheers buddy, I had him and cooter out for a big walk today, lots of ascent, just what he needs
It's funny, some mill surplus stuff is quality, some only worthy of char cloth !
Thanks for the review! I bought the 5m by 4m one. I intend to use a paracord threading needle to thread 550 paracord through the sewn seams, and to add many more grommets. I may try Fabsil Gold to make it more waterproof?
Cheers buddy
The 4m x 5m version just arrived. It is glued together somewhere near the middle, not one continuous piece, making it far less strong. Unlike yours it is glued not stitched around the sides. If the smaller 3m x 4m one is one continual piece, I would have bought that instead.
If I remember right , mine is two pieces
Looks good for the money a little home care and good to go, carry gorilla tape!!! 🍻👍🏻🔥
Nice
Hard luck with the tarp pal sure you will come up with a use for it

Hi Woolley.

Is it still up?
No I took it down a good while ago
@@RedBranchBushcraft not a long test then?
Long enough
@@RedBranchBushcraft Thought you may have tested it until it broke.
