"Celine Dion??"
I love how the gesture she makes here is the same gesture that Celine does in her live shows! Lmao
Is THAT what it's supposed to be? I just thought it was like a "sassy black woman" gesture.
Out of topic but I have the name of the commenter, that’s lovely.

I love how she's offended when Mei talks to her like that but the minute her own mother is on the phone *hides for life*. Like Ming is just hilarious, and relatable too but ultimately, I like how she was like Mei. She was just like her, hurt her mother and represses her emotions. Anyways, can't wait for the next one!
woah, thats crazy! how long did that take to figure out?
we get the joke buddy...
@@jazzyginger5279 I smell a strong scent of sarcasm
(❔)
Ming was upset about the face tho-
And she was hiding- It's not-
I don't get it?
Geez can't people let a human being write a comment even though she's stating the obvious? Like guys chill on the sarcasm, ok?
Ok but ming freaking out when her mother wanted to talk to her is painfully accurate
sometimes i want to punch meis mom in the gut
@@johnvermintide why is that then huh?
@@johnvermintide wdym? mei's mom got it going on

_"Who do they think they are? Celine Dion?"_
*Ah, I see. You're a woman of culture as well.*
Yeah, that one line automatically increased my respect for her.
Okay. My mom has to see this and when she does, she’s gonna laugh bc I’m her younger days, she’d listen to Celine Dion.
MY HEART WILL GO ON AND ONNN

Lol I love Ming, she is hilarious XD
Same!! I also really love Abby
@@hutao4351 same I love her
Okay but this exactly like my mom and dad, this movie is really great because of the amount of relations I’ve felt
Ikr it's way too relatable
Ikr I'm not even Asian so I think a lot of kids of immigrants could relate to it.
@@himynameischipotle5370 Well I'm asian but not relatable with this maybe because I'm not immigrant and living with third world country
Our problem is different what i seen first world country kid always having problem with identity and personality for us this kind of problem its to ridiculous problem for us
yes thank you
@@BryanMinami True. I hope things get better where you live. 💗 🙏
I can't get over how Ming gently raises her hand to silence Jin. She doesn't shove it in his face but softly puts it there. I love it!
I don't think its supposed to be an admirable trait.. It's another example of her controlling nature and desire to prove that her point of view is right.
I don’t see it as a good thing, it’s supposed to show that she is super controlling
@@regularly_priced true, but most stereotypically controlling characters would aggressively slam their hands on someone's mouth, imagine how painful that feels; here she doesn't hurt him, doesn't touch him, that's why it's endearing, in a way
@@wrenegade6283 Ah ok
@@wrenegade6283 I disagree. It's not endearing. If someone put their hand in my face, I would find it disrespectful.
She's right about the $200 tho. I mean that's just Ticketmaster trying to scam us out of our pesos.
If those tickets were $200 in 2002, imagine how much they would be today.
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl im preety mich cure that we won't even be able to pay them, not even carl slim XD

i had to search it and i might be wrong but the average concert prices in 2002 were like at least $50
so 4*Town must be about the same kind of expensively famous as blackpink ot bts to have concert tickets that expensive dkdhdj
I also like to point out that another famous Canadian singer is Shania Twain. And she was a awesome country singer
Don't forget the OG Anne Murray!
Omg YES! Shania Twain was my entire childhood
SHANIA TWAIN IS CANADIAN???
That would have worked considering the year Turning Red takes place
@@Musicanimedork01 yes she was born in Ontario Canada 1965

Every. Child. Ever. Fite meh.
Gladly cause I'll answer to my Mum in.a.heart beat >:3
Mei's father knew that he was going to marry a woman with a monster inside her that could wake up at any moment?
Well they had it inside the crystal so it was most likely not going to get out
In the Movie (SPOILER)
He does say that her panda is huge, so he must have known her back when she was still young and had her panda.
I mean my mom is also a hothead yet he married her.
@@honinakecheta601 He literally said that Ming became a panda because she had a fight her mother (a fight that happened because her mother didn't accept Jin as her boyfriend)
@@abbeyBominable123 I know, so he knew that she was a panda before they got married. What’s your point? Because my point was that he knew she was a panda before they were actually married.
I love that she did Celine Dion's hand gesture when she mentioned her 😂
I wonder if she wanted to go to a Celine Deon concert back then since she brought up that she never went to concerts at Mei's age.
Possibly
Maybe.
I must like this,so it's at 69
her hand movement when she said Celine Dion is ✨perfect✨
This little bit makes me think that Ming can seriously be one of those 'Cool and trendy chill' mums. She's just as eccentric as her own daughter! It's just well, her past really does hold her back sometimes!
Her overprotectiveness came from her fear. She didn't want Mei to repeat her mistake. But the way Ming did didn't work and only repeating the same generational mistake.
Her hand expressions are everything 😂✋
Ming: Strict over Mei
Also Ming (when her mom call): dRaMAtic OutRo
Fun fact: Celine Dion is a Canadian singer
Nooooo, really?
So is Anne Murray
Bruh anyone with common sense knows who Celine Dion is xD
Very unknown fact 🤣
@@izumirikka6730 I don't know her tho.. And anyone with common sense knows that not everyone knows Celine Dion.
Idk who they think they are, but I do know what they are; a bunch of young, naïve male sirens who got taken advantage of by the music industry in exchange for their power over the budding sexuality of young men and women (like the protagonist) to grow on a massive scale. But that doesn't mean they necessarily do anything wrong.
Underrated point, we talk about how exploited this is, but a lot of these boy bands/singers started when they were teenagers.
What ...
it's a movie but cool to know
Stop.
Calm down son it’s just a drawing
I like how the father is trying to speak
The way she says Celine Dion and does the neck roll/finger twirl combo is one of the reasons why this movie is iconic.
I agree with the mom, 200 bucks is an outrageous price tag
Not just 200 dollars but 200 dollars in 2002. That's a bit above 300 adjusted for inflation
That is PRICY for general admin tickets. My concert tickets were always 50-60 bucks back then (in Vancouver -- not sure if Toronto is pricier)
Idk about you but I could buy something that can be used and more cherished for a long time. But moments with your friends is precious too sooooo....
It's like a BTS concert really, so it's understandable to me
i thought the tickets were 50 dollars eash?
Second lol 😂 idk why she doesn't like 4 ⭐ Town LOL and when she said IM NOT HERE! LOL 😂
Woah lol fr lol I wanna die now lol lolololololololololololol
She hates 4 town bc it has the number 4 in china 4 is an unlucky number, because it sounds like death. Now u know :)

@@WhatHaveIDoneWithMyLife yeah and thanks to you for that information :)
Ming is a major Celine Dion fan for sure!
I agree. And I think Ming wanted to go to one of her concerts when she was younger, but her mother didn't allow her to go. And we see the same interaction with Ming and Mei. I think I see a cycle going on.
lol im old enough to remember going to the concert for celine dion in the 90s!! yes she was good
She’s a Celine Dion stan ✨ queen 👸🏽

*Jin: Ming, it's your mother.*
*Ming: I'M NOT HERE*
*Me: I wonder where she got that from..😐😑😐😑😐*
This is one of my favorite parts of the movie, but I also was pleasantly surprised by her design. She wasn’t a thick Pixar mom and for roughly 2 minutes, thoughts were swirling around in my head and I thought to myself “HAS THE REIGN OF THIXXAR COME TO AN END?!?” I can’t be the only one who thought about this.
Technically I think there's only 4 thicc pixar moms out of 14. So even if she was thicc she would be in the vast minority
I think this was a more grounded version of "thicc pixar mom" but she still def has those curves 😭😭😭😭
I love this!
