I am a 16 year old bassist (not professional yet) and this video has inspired me to continue playing my bass regardless of what others tell me. I hope one day I can play as beautiful as you and move people the way you did with your playing
I played in elementary school middle school and part of high, I quit to learn the piano and after a good 6 years I’ve forgot most of the string bass. I’ve recently been relearning it. My biggest regret has been quitting that instrument. Never give up man you got it
Man i'm getting a double bass. I already play the piano, but always wanted to learn a bowed instrument. It will be hard to learn, but i'll try it. I was considering cello, but this came up and blew my mind. Best version i've ever heard of this piece.
I actually prefered this over the violin version, You really inspire me to practice, and this was beautiful as always. Definietley going to learn this!
This is one of my favorite musical pieces ever composed(yes, including some of the classical masterpieces), and I of course adore Itzak Perlman in the original version, but hearing it on a double bass like this, gave it a new depth. I thank you for giving me this new way of experiencing it.
Thank you ...for the work put in alone with your instrument, the practice that leads to this exquisite teardrop of a moment you have created for us. Bravo maestro. 👏👏👏
I listened this about 10 years ago, maybe through another channel. You bring me to the same place again where I reached at that time. This is perennial music.
No pude evitarlo, las lagrimas corren por mis mejillas de tanto dolor que siento al escuchar a este excelente músico y gandioso instrumento! Nunca imagine que un contrabajo lograra tal efecto en mí. Gracias!!
I've played double bass at school for 8 years but never really good cuz i lost the fun playing that instrument after ca 3 years and so i only "practiced" the school pieces where i often only had to play the same "levels" and i found it boring af soo after i finished school i havent touched my bass for almost a year... but seeing this video and hearing you play made me remember why i've liked that instrument so much at the beginning and it makes me want to play again thank you!😊
I've never commented on any RUclips video before; I'm a late starter double bass player and I have to say that this is the most beautiful playing I have heard! You've inspired me. Thank you.
@@phillipcoombs5062 I think, Croatia? Maybe you should google search up a little bit to fact-check my statement. I think I somehow read about Prof. Božo Paradžik's biography on his website and watched few of his interviewed videos on RUclips.
Wow, this brought me to tears! Your playing is so inspiring, I can only dream of my bass sounding this beautiful. So much talent and emotion in one video, BRAVO! ❤️
A conservative commentator who plays violin ( no need to reveal his name) played this piece on the violin. he did not understand that though he got the notes right that was ALL he got right. musicality and musicianship are so much more. Mr Paradzik shows his understanding of this. this from a former bass player . . .
WHAT?! Now I am even more baffled. I thought you just made it look easy but that it was actually a challenge to perform and I find out that it was in fact child's play. I know my skill and that wouldn't sound like that if I had practiced it every day for a whole year. You are my Idol Bozo.
@@bozoparadzikcom Well, I try to relearn how to play while standing. But after I observe Prof.'s posture, are you basically 'holding' the double bass with your chest at the back edge of the instrument body? I wonder. Because I'm having problem balancing the instrument while playing standing, as if the instrument is going to collapse in any moment especially during shifting position. Many thanks, Prof.
I've been trying to learn this arrangement for a while. I'm not that good, though. I find myself listening to it a lot more with everything in Mariupol. Harder to practice it, though.
I like your performance. I want to be like you. I am a Japanese high school student. I play a double bass. I would be happy if you came to Japan. I want to listen live.
I haven't listened to such melody with a feeling of heavy heart. I've watch the movie, the black&white cinematography makes it an epic one. Can someone tell me the name of the instrument this master musician is playing?
Hi, I love your performance of this piece!!! I checked out your first upload of this piece and read the description so I could find out how to play this!!! Unfortunately, I'm a 16 year old novice player and have no idea what it means to tune in high C or what A1 is.😭😭 Would that mean that the notes written for the violin would just be played on the bass?? What do you mean by tuning in high C but transposing in F. Wpuld that mean that you move the notes a third down? Once again I'll say that your performance was hauntingly beautiful!!!
There is one single extra string, created for being tuned to C (small octave). Using it as the top string makes your bass a fourth higher than with standard tuning (G string is on second place, D string 3rd, etc)
The grave sorrow of this Jewish-sounding theme - is so appropriate to the timbre and range of a double -bass though I think it was originally scored for violin. Testifies to John Wiliams' genius.
