Frank's art got me through a tough childhood. I called the number in the back of Heavy Metal magazine to order posters and Miss Ellie answered the phone. I have done literally hundreds of faithful reproductions of his various works. I painted a copy of "Escape from Venus" for my Figure and Portraiture class in college and somebody stole it. I'm going to tattoo some of his ink drawings onto myself this winter. I've reproduced his Lord of the Rings portfolio in various mediums, including hand engraving the mirror image onto the back of a mirror, then blackening it. I actually had so much Frazetta artwork on display in my apartment that first dates were scared away. I did a Death Dealer in Sharpie on the back of a stonewashed denim jacket and sold it for $300 at a Molly Hatchet concert. I drew many of his sexy ink drawings onto envelopes that I sent to my girlfriend over the summers in college when we both went home. The depth, width and breadth (if those are indeed different dimensions) of Frank's work and its effect on me is indescribable. I remember my cool uncle in the 70's having one of the Frank's coffee table books that got me hooked. To this day, 40 years later, I can still smell the pot smoke and patchouli when I crack open one of mine. The fact that Sarah has taken this to the next level has been SO gratifying. I will be crafting a Death Dealer costume for Halloween in the very near future. I'm SO glad that "Fire and Ice" has taken on a new life. Every time I see another sculpture of Conan or Moon Maid, I get the feels. It's been one of the truest regrets of my life that I didn't make it to East Stroudsburg, PA in time to meet them. One day, I will take my son and show him what truly original, creative art looks like. Thanks for reading the musings of a fan boy...

Frazetta paints the most beautiful and vivacious women ever imagined… I still think they’re all (loosely) based on his beautiful wife Ellie.

Having been born in the mid 80’s, I had no idea what his effect was until recently. I love his work, as it has a grim but powerful fell.

I dunno. I love Frazetta, but seeing two guys proclaiming he is a master while wearing horned helmets makes me wonder if this is a parody. I certainly laughed.

Any artist who admires Frazetta's work (and I'm certainly one of them) must be wondering what's going on 3:26. There are bottles of Windsor & Newton Fast-drying Linseed oil, dammar varnish and natural turpenoid. But what is a tube white acrylic doing there? It is certainly not recommended to mix acrylics and oils, unless you underpaint in acrylics first and then paint in oils on top. Who knows? But I'm certainly left wondering....
