Pro tip: instead of using paper towels (leaves small fibers) use a coffee filter (does not leave fibers) and some 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean - allow a few seconds to air dry before applying vinyl!
Bro I recently got an e46 and have come across a few of your videos and finally need to comment on just how dope your attitude is. You seem very straight forward and honest, it gives good perspective on how any "newbie" can accomplish this stuff, and you are good at brushing off the haters.Wish I had your drive/skill at your age. Keep up your good work man, that's all!
Im doing the same thing as you i'm 16 and I just got a job and bought a 2001 BMW 330xi. Im going to add a vinyl wrap to the inside of it like you did. Great video thanks for the help.
It's dope and kinda comforting to see someone do this to their car before I do it to mine hahaha. I own an e46 330i and am going to do this next week, thanks for the upload!
16 and own a BMW E46, bloody hell I had to wait until I was 21 to get my E46 for the insurance to drop enough, I remember doing exactly what you done there, I done the trims on my coupe with silver carbon fibre wrap. Looked pretty damn smart.
Thanks for the love lol, oh just a word of warning, watch out for the cooling system, im not sure how long you had the car, or whether the cooling system has had a overhaul, but this will need to be done at some point. The expansion tanks tend to suffer damage with them bulging or the caps leaking, they also could blow off the top radiator hose which if you not careful can overheat your car which is what happened to mine and I ended up putting a new engine in it cos of it. For a 16 year old, this is bloody expensive. Early work on the cooling system could save you a lot of money in the long run. Also watch out for the wishbone bushes, these tend to suffer on these cars, easy to replace, few 17 or 18mm bolts and the whole arm and bush drops off. God I do miss owning an E46, even though mine gave me a good few problems.
Dean G yeah I'm definitely doing a Coolant flush soon and I'll have to look into it! And yeah owning e46 is a really fun experience but thanks for the comments bro hope you stick around and if you check my channel there's much better videos than this 😂
That's some good quality wrapping right there. I think wood went pretty well with the beige interior in my personal opinion haha. But nevertheless, the wrapping was perfect
Jason Lee thanks bro appreciate and yes the wood looked great but got a little tired of it and tried something a little different! Thanks for watching and yes we did pretty good for our 1st time wrapping
Looking the wrap my 328ci interior trim, curious why trim edges of holes/shifter trim vs wrapping around edge like on door trim? Is it just a tight fit issue w/shiter trim or just preference of install?
Nice job Wesley. My E46 is looking a little tired inside with marks and scrapes on the interior trim that seem to appear overnight. I assume its from rings and finger nails but don’t ever recall it happening. Really shouldn’t mark so easily but I guess nothing is made to last these days. So thinking about doing the same as you. One area that also has marks is on the surround around the cigar lighter tray and the door over the cigar lighter area and also the door and storage area above. I see in this video that its the only area you didn’t do. I was wondering if it is a particularly difficult part to do or just didn’t make it to the video? Also wonder if you could advise on which vinyl looks the best, glossy or matt? Again, nice job Wesley, certainly transforms the interior.
It looks like it came out pretty decent with the help from your pops. That's cool hes willing to help you out with this stuff. One suggestion tho bro get rid of that M badge on the plate around your shifter man unless you're actually driving a M model
UCTeeth thanks dude and yeah between me and my dad we can do a lot of stuff ourselves but you just have to be willing to try and not scared to fail, if you do it wrong just try again, but over all I thought it was pretty easy to wrap the trim, you definitely don't need much experience just patience and if see a couple videos and it's pretty straightforward.
my old trim is really bad, peeling and has visible air bubbles. How do I remove it? at least from one of the trim panels because someone scratched it off and if i apply the new vinyl on top of it you will be able see the height difference. Anyway. What is an easy way to remove vinyl? I tried to do it with a heat gun but all it did is actually get rid of the air bubbles.
I also have wood trim e46 interior, but my car is an automatic will, the wrap be able to go around the automatic shifter since it isn't flat, also when you doing the headliner video?
Alex yeah it will be a little more complicated but I'm pretty sure you can wrap it and tell haven't had the time to but the fabric but I definitely will
Gimmie no problem bro and glad it helped and I got plenty more videos on how to swap to a sport package interior and also how to mod the interior and the exterior on e46's so definitely check them out
Gimmie thanks bro and yeah I try, I work but it doesn't pay a lot so I'm always keeping it on a budget so the mods I do everyone can afford so definitely look at the vids
Seen more of your videos and have to say your channel is awesome bro, videos aren’t too long, they are entertaining, the ones like this teach you how to do stuff, you always reply to comments.... that’s a lot of effort, don’t worry about the haters, there aren’t many positive people out there nowadays 👌🏼you keep your head up and keep doing your thing
LOL, little dude that cant even drive showing me how to make it dope, not even mad. Moral of the story is you can learn from anyone as long as your ego doesn't get in the way. Great video Wesley_Media
Can i hear an update on how they look now? Any peel off's? I don't mean scratches and stuff cause shit happens, but did it unpeel on any corners or something, I'd like to do mine too.
Labinot Hasani great question and no it actually it has minor bubbles in 2 spots but all the corners are fine and you can't even notice the bubbles but they happened because I was not the best at wrapping but overall it's easy and great for the price
great job man, i managed to wrap mine without a hair dryer, dont ask me how, but i reckon it came up pretty well. What number carbon fibre did you get, such as 3D, 4D or 5D? Awesome job again man.
zionnaidu3456 thanks a lot bro and it was 3D I'm pretty sure and wow I can't believe you did it without a hair dryer 😂 well thanks again and hope you stick around for more videos
My OCD gets triggered a lot in this video :D but given the overall condition of the interior visible in this short video I guess it is an improvement either way. Props for doing something creative instead of drugs or whatever most dumb kids do nowadays but when you want to get really AAA results then you gotta do a little bit better. IMO in your age it does not play a big role yet but when you get older you will start to see those little things that will trigger your OCD as well :D have a good one and enjoy yourself
Jose Meza thanks for watching and tbh I bought this wrap like 3 months ago and I don't have the exact link but go on eBay and search carbon fiber wrap and it's just some generic cheap wrap we bought a roll of 24x60 and that's enough to wrap it up and still have plenty for mistakes and other stuff
swyrl will do! On this specific video I used eBay wrap but I had bought it a long time ago so I didn't have the link but any eBay vynil will do the job
Great video man, looks really good! Going to subscribe to your channel for sure for future e46 mods. 2 questions if you have time to answer :) 1) Where did you buy the carbon wrap from? I've searched on ebay for 7d gloss carbon fibre wraps, and there's just so many merchants not sure who to go with.. plus how much wrap do you need to cover all the trim? 2) Where did you get the leather shifter boot with m stiching (seen at 4:31) Thanks in advance :).
can you please tell me what album is that by Bill Withers Ain't No Sunshine period question mark. I never heard that version before can you please tell me the name of the album
Nope, no effect it just cleans the surface and evaporates relatively fast. The way you did it also works, the rubbing alcohol just does it faster and easier , sort'a. The paper towel might leave some little fibres that depending on size and the wrap might give you bumps and air bubbles. Btw, windex works too.
That moment when 6 years younger boy teaches you stuff about cars.... Good job man keep it up!
Pro tip: instead of using paper towels (leaves small fibers) use a coffee filter (does not leave fibers) and some 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean - allow a few seconds to air dry before applying vinyl!
Scott McKinstry thanks I'll definitely try it out thanks for watching
Thank you
or a microfibre cloth
I love seeing a father help his son. Great job bro 😇

Troy Anderson thanks bro appreciate it and yeah i don't let them get to me, I'm glad people are enjoying my videos and I have people like you watching
You're dad's doing right by you for taking the time to teach you a useful skill. And that's wise of you to learn from him... good work, it looks nice.
Did you get married half way through wrapping the shifter surround?
supertouring22 wym 😂
someone else wrapped the hard part!
He also grew alot of hair
Im doing the same thing as you i'm 16 and I just got a job and bought a 2001 BMW 330xi. Im going to add a vinyl wrap to the inside of it like you did. Great video thanks for the help.
Did this in my e46 with purple gloss instead of carbon and didnt know if anyone else had tried it, very cool
It's dope and kinda comforting to see someone do this to their car before I do it to mine hahaha. I own an e46 330i and am going to do this next week, thanks for the upload!
Good job with the wrapping! Though I feel the vintage "before" look is still way better than the "after" look
Awesome video dude! Taking car of your own car is such an important part of any e46 enthusiast no matter your age. I love my e46 :-)
I notice innocent hands and hairy hands with ring. Classic!
Cool soundtrack..happy to see a close family. Keep cranking out the vids and God Bless my man
Really confused. You look like you're 14 how do you have a car lol
Shaan Patel yes unfortunately I do look like a 14 year old 😂 but I'm actually 16 and that's why I have a car! Thanks for watching
Wesley_ Media lmao dope man so am I.

That's some good quality wrapping right there.

Jason Lee thanks bro appreciate and yes the wood looked great but got a little tired of it and tried something a little different! Thanks for watching and yes we did pretty good for our 1st time wrapping
I'm 23 and recently bought my e46 330i and this kid is like a decade younger with one of his own. Good video though.
Rob thank you and I worked hard to get it how it is right now! I'm 16 and I actually work so it's not my parents money
Wesley_ Media keep that determination and you can do anything man big up
Looking the wrap my 328ci interior trim, curious why trim edges of holes/shifter trim vs wrapping around edge like on door trim? Is it just a tight fit issue w/shiter trim or just preference of install?

UCTeeth thanks dude and yeah between me and my dad we can do a lot of stuff ourselves but you just have to be willing to try and not scared to fail, if you do it wrong just try again, but over all I thought it was pretty easy to wrap the trim, you definitely don't need much experience just patience and if see a couple videos and it's pretty straightforward.

How much length of wrap did this require?
my old trim is really bad, peeling and has visible air bubbles. Looking clean bro! Vinyl wrapping can be a pain. How has it held up over the years?
LOL, little dude that cant even drive showing me how to make it dope, not even mad. Moral of the story is you can learn from anyone as long as your ego doesn't get in the way. Great video Wesley_Media

My OCD gets triggered a lot in this video :D but given the overall condition of the interior visible in this short video I guess it is an improvement either way. Good job man
How many feet of wrap did you need?
Hey nice video! Any way you could link me to where you bough the carbon fiber wrap?
Jose Meza thanks for watching and tbh I bought this wrap like 3 months ago and I don't have the exact link but go on eBay and search carbon fiber wrap and it's just some generic cheap wrap we bought a roll of 24x60 and that's enough to wrap it up and still have plenty for mistakes and other stuff
Jose Meza it's cheap to probably like $15-$20 and free USA shipping
hello mem,how buttons for windows on your car works?
How much wrap did you order?
is there a vinyl wrap that matches the wood trim?
another cool video mate. where'd you get the gear stick leather with the m colour stitching? looks awesome.

I'm trying this tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes bruh. Nice tracks too!!!
Beat Quake awesome definitely let me know
whered u buy the wrap?
Nice tutorial, but for future ones can you link where you bought what you need in the description?
swyrl will do! On this specific video I used eBay wrap but I had bought it a long time ago so I didn't have the link but any eBay vynil will do the job
Planning on doing a dark "grey/gunmetal" to match M3 interiors, the carbon wrap never really appealed that much to me
RadioControl360 that would look sick!! Ive seen color matched interiors and they look awesome
Eso quedo muy bien, excelente acabado....
Amazing work
HowToBasically thanks bro
You showed everything BUT the gear knob.. can you explain how you did it? Its a hard shape to wrap
doubt they wrapped that most likely bought
Obviously it’s the same process as the rest. Remove knob, lay wrap over, remove bubbles, cut excess, reinstall.....
Great video man, looks really good! Going to subscribe to your channel for sure for future e46 mods.
2 questions if you have time to answer :)
1) Where did you buy the carbon wrap from? I've searched on ebay for 7d gloss carbon fibre wraps, and there's just so many merchants not sure who to go with.. plus how much wrap do you need to cover all the trim?
2) Where did you get the leather shifter boot with m stiching (seen at 4:31)
Thanks in advance :).
Great video bro !! Where did you order the wrap from ?
Did u notice, the Heatgun (Hair Dryer) ;-)
but nice vid bro
You can’t even get approved for a credit card and you expect us to believe that’s you’re car lol. Good job on showing how to vinyl wrap.
Nice vid. Tight track. Where did you buy your vinyl?
Beat Quake all the vinyl is cheap from eBay but it's actually pretty good
can you please tell me what album is that by Bill Withers Ain't No Sunshine period question mark.
I never heard that version before can you please tell me the name of the album
johnny Harris it's ain't no sunshine by Poldoore
“I just finished the interior”
Son, your dad did it. Give the channel to your dad. 💀
Don’t get it wrong it’s a joke, love the videos bro.
Great video ma, keep up the content and dedication!
Clarissa Cummings Magaña thanks bro appreciate it
wtf did you put on the steering wheel ?
nice video ;) greetings from germany
Nice 👍
Good job, might want to use rubbing alcohol and a new microfiber cloth instead of the paper towels, but still it turned out great.
Asen Yonchev thanks bro appreciate it and btw will the alcohol affect the real wood on the trim???
Nope, no effect it just cleans the surface and evaporates relatively fast. The way you did it also works, the rubbing alcohol just does it faster and easier , sort'a. The paper towel might leave some little fibres that depending on size and the wrap might give you bumps and air bubbles. Btw, windex works too.
Asen Yonchev oh ok bro sounds good I'll definitely try it next time
Nice
would love this on my 328i 😋
Tswagman00 do it bro it's cheap and easy
Link to the trim?
you also wrapped the gear knob??
CDrumoTevas yes I did but honestly it's really hard and you will need another person to help you, so it's honestly better just to buy a new shift knob
also, which carbon wrap did u use? 3D? 4D? or something else?
+CDrumoTevas I'm pretty sure it's 3D
heat gun, otherwise known as me mums hairdryer
You should start by fixing your roof interior
good job little dude :)
Konstantin Ivanov thanks bro appreciate the support, stay tuned for more videos
whered you get the wrap
Why wood you do that to the wood trim why???
