- Derrick is giving me a bench tour to show all his bonsai projects on the go!
Many of these trees are started from seed or cuttings.

Love these private tours as you get to see cool people, know a little of their bonsai philosophy and the trees themselves of course. 💚
I love it ❤
love the bench tours. thanks nigel and derrick!
Derrick is the man.
Nice garden, brother! Lots of early and young with loads of potential! I’m diggin it.
I love Derrick's collection ❤
Great tour Nigel and Derrick! 🐦💙
❤
Nigel you’re a great narrator! Love these tours you do!
He has great commentary ❤
5:41 I love that, Derrick is so clever ❤
Interesting to see other collections, something special in every collections. Great work Nigel ... keep it green 💚
Every collection is special ❤
Another interesting collection...Thanks for sharing...
Thank you too!
This man is ficus crazy and I’m here for all of it😂
That's the spirit!!

The fine leaf tree that gets the purple flowers is called Jacaranda . They are lavender colored flowers that are just gorgeous to look at.
Aren't they a shade of blue but kinda look purple? I buy them as blue jacaranda from bunnings :)
@@masonbrowne6796 kinda but it’s called lavender so it’s what we have here in Mexico everywhere so I see them all day everyday. I have a Bonsai one as I text
Jacaranda arborea is that?
Millions of cuttings... Cuttings for me!... Millions of cuttings... Cuttings for free! 🎵🎶🎵🎶 There are cuttings in a can, they were put there by a man, in a backyard downnnn towwwnnn....
Great tour!! Nigel, your trees are spread far and wide now! Via cuttings!
The trees that you guys called silk trees or powder puff, are actually Jacarandas I believe. Sometimes called Brazilian rosewood. Common in bonsai starter kits. Tropical tree, and those tiny leaves are actually part of a whole petal. each of those branches is actually 1 “leaf”. Fun to mess around with. Grow wild, trunk chop, repeat to get ramification
I heard they are struggling in the wild too sadly 😢
Beautiful yard Derrick!
It's so pretty. I want to know how he got those pavers so perfect and weed free 😅
Nice lot of trees. Cool Serrisa tree.
It's lovely seeing all the different collections ❤
Ficus natalensis is my favorite indigenous bonsai. So easy to grow and the leaves reduce super well.
I'm not familiar with that one, I should look it up ❤
Fantastic collection! Convenient that those 4 trees where you now have your bench, had to come down 😝
I'm eyeing up some elder trees right now and thinking they might meet their maker... I'll try to be patient though and see how they grow now I've pruned them
Hello Nigel. Today, a journalist friend of mine here in my city, really wanted to know about my adventure with the cork oak acorns that are now your trees. He was surprised, and he only did a short article, don't worry.
Wow exciting ❤
I have been looking for a jacaranda mimisifolia forever!!
I've heard they're rare in the wild ❤
In Vietnam, Ficus trees are very popular, can be planted everywhere, on walls, along roads, easy to hunt, if there is a shop selling them, the price is very cheap.
Same with forsythias here. They seem to be everywhere very cheap ❤
👍👌👌
❤❤❤❤❤
If Derrick builds that lean-to past the hvac, right to the gas meter...he'll have automatic air circulation inside! Lol
Ooo that's some thinking! ❤
"Mother Ficus"
That will be my new curse word.
Lol!!
The best insults are the creative ones 😂
I repot my ficuses too frequently. I need to let them get a little root bound to get awesome aerial roots like that mother of the cuttings. They grow so fast I keep getting worried they’ll starve themselves. Time to skip a few extra years.
I fiddle with my plants too often too. I have a conifer I'm resisting the urge to repot. It doesn't need it ❤
@@WoollenMaple Yeah, I’m scared to work with conifers. Ficuses can take a lot of abuse and still be vigorous.
The tree at 6:39 is Jacaranda mimosifolia I think 🤔
So pretty ❤
yea i have 1 tree that i got all cuting from that and i have 5 more now 🤣this is why i want a Chinese maple
I have a field maple but not a Chinese one. I've seen places near me that sell them as nursery material though. ❤
The only tree he does not have is a Catalpa tree
I googled it. Now must resist the urge to buy another tree ❤
Foist
Yay congrats 🎉
