The splatfests are over, and yet here i am again. Damn I'm gonna miss the spla2oon updates, the fests, the new weapons and gear to look forward to, the excitement from octo expansion. Its sad to say goodbye but looking back.... it was all just happy memories.

WOW. JUST WOW. The way the lighting changed and I didn’t even notice until the sun really came out, the little details, the movements, the MUSIC!! IT WAS ALL SOOOOOO PERFECT AND ACCURATE, while keeping the pixelated, 8-bit feel. This was SO well executed!

This is beautiful. I like the music, and the little details they did on the background weather changing(sunny to cloudy and then back to sunny again)like the original in-game animation. The water and the characters moving is so detailed, and I like how just like the original, agent 8 turns her head around to look at you for a split moment at the end

Octo Expansion was and is still to this day one of my most cherished experiences in gaming as a whole. I hold it up there with my first time completing SA2, Portal 2, BotW, or Fallout: New Vegas. But while all of the others were fun and are experiences I would love to relive again, Octo Expansion is special, in a way I’m happy I completed it, but I wish I hadn’t. I would love to go back to 2018 and play through what would eventually become my favorite DLC, even competing with the DLC of New Vegas in terms of quality. There is something that is just so bittersweet about finishing OE, once Into the Light played I felt overjoyed that I beat it, I was happy to see the ending, but then it set in that it was over, Splatoon has that strange ability to make you feel a bit depressed once it’s all over, the ending themes are all really great at bringing that bittersweet feeling to the forefront. Into the Light is perhaps the best at this, you can just tell that it’s over, you had fun, it was a bit difficult making it here, but now that it’s all said and done, we’re just sitting here basking in the reverence of the moment, before we get on with our lives and go our separate ways. The closest thing I can compare it too in the emotions it brings out, would have to be Persona 4, that game’s OST and general atmosphere is incredibly depressing in ways that are hard to express and aren’t exactly apparent at first glance. It’s like watching the seasons change, or seeing someone grow up. Heartbeat Heartbrake, or Your Affection really bring out that feeling, if you haven’t I’d really recommend you check it out, either the OST or the game itself, both are really good. I think the general feeling that they both convey is the slightly bittersweet feeling of a fleeting youth, and how the things we considered tough and difficult, will be things we miss once it’s all over. It might be different for everyone, but that’s the general feeling I get from Into the Light, a melancholic acceptance that it’s over, but an optimistic outlook on the future that was gained through all of those trials and tribulations. It might be over, but we’ll keep those experiences with us for the rest of our lives, and even if we can never experience the same feelings again, we can at least take some solace in knowing that we experienced it at all. To feel sad or depressed, is to know that you cared to begin with after all.
I’ve watched this about 10 times, and- I only just noticed that Agent 3 has a bandaid on the back of her head and *i can’t with these details.* okay so i came back to this video a year later and found my own comment, and i’ve done a few pixel art pieces recently, so i just want to say… holy crap there must have been SO much effort put into the animation for this!! it’s beautiful, props to the artist!! also the music is just 🤌

I guess I'm asking that you make some videos with music from other series. Splatoon is a console exclusive after all.
