Can we just take a moment to appreciate Volo's quick-change? Not only did he have an entire asymmetrical outfit under that jacket, but he changed from winter boots to sandals in literally a second.

Legends Arceus is everything that I ever wanted in a prequel to the first game that I ever played. And Volo? He is one of my favorite Pokemon Characters.

It might be the triangle... but it *suspiciously* sounds like the beeping of a vitals monitor. Just like what happens later in the fight.... when you think it's over.
The whole time Volo encouraged you to learn about and obtain Plates, and meet literal Pokémon legends- he was using you to learn how best to subjugate them when his time came. Awesome.

That pixelart and animation is RAW AF BRO. INSANE. And the music didn’t disappoint either. I swear this is what the official music would sound like in the GameBoy era.
It's shocking how the first character you fight ends up being evil and giving 1 heck of a fight at the end, amazing job on this video!
One of my favorite songs in the game 🙏🙏 Gatekid did an amazing job on the pixel art, the animations and music at 0:49 gave me chills. Also loved the part around 1:24 something about the layering just works so well even in a chiptune style. You know it's a good day when Lumena-tan posts, amazing job once again 💛💛💛

Loved Volo’s fight. My starter, Hisuian Decidueye clutched and beat Giratina with Shadow Claw(I put it on him for an advantage against Psychic Types. 10 evs in Attack and Speed so it was pretty wild. Plus, he had a Jolly nature)
i just barely managed first time with pre-knowledge. took some heavy damage to some with volo, but only lost two. soloed phase 1 gira with samurott, then phase 2 went by with scizor bullet punch spam and finishing off with last survivor lilligant’s aerial ace. hype moment.

i ended up changing my entire team and adding all 3 starters in order to win and still ended up barely hanging on by tanking with sylveon
I overleveled so my Gliscor and Lopunny 1-2 shotted everything. I feel sad IT wasn't as good as it could've been.
I also had a situation starter but since I'm more so about the thematically fitting moves I gave it moves is that fit the entire rowlet family

Most reactions i seen dont notice this, but the reason he looks like such a villain after the reveal while he looks so friendly before it is simply due to the sheer amount of shape language poured in, he goes from being this huge reliable amassment of rectangles and circles to this triangular aggressive shape, even his poses invoke the shape of triangles, thus creating a major "this is the villain" vibe

I LOVE the ping noise at the beginning of the song, sounds like the sort of ping sound when you're down in the underground in diamond/pearl/platinum, incredible detail!

I love the little drop at 0:40 only to show the pokemon animations at 0:50 for it to end at the melody change when Volo reveals his truest nature at 1:00
In my version of events, the protagonist generally gets fed up with people's stupidity if they're not at least trying to be better or do good. And at Spear Pillar, once he's been challenged by the source of his troubles...he has decided that he has hit his limit, and will now vent. But not before letting Volo know that this is the first battle worthy of determining the Champion. And that he has no intent to lose.

It's still hard to believe that Volo summoned literal satan to try to not only stop you, but to kill you, Legend Arceus was something else storyline wise, the closest thing was at the end of the main story in Scarlet and Violet
And I want more closure on both! God those are almost polar opposites as far as theming, aren't they? An enemy disguised as a friend, and a friend overtaken by an enemy.

Renegade Cynthia herself was a tease to this whole story. People thought for sure Giratina would go to Cyrus since he's the one with a plot connection to it. Cynthia getting it was quite surprising...and then PLA came out and it was like ohhhhh
