It's been an ongoing movement of some kind to educate the difference between languages and dialects. It can be quite confusing at times but a language is a unique and specific method of communication belonging to a country/community while a dialect is sub category of a language specific to a region. For example, there are various versions of English such as Filipino English, American English, British English, Australian English, and so on. There may be differences here and there when it comes to slang or certain words but all English speakers will generally understand each other. But if two people cannot understand each other with whatever method of communication they have then that is a language. It's not an iron clad rule but It's a safe assumption to distinguish which is which.

It is spoken by the Visayan ethnolinguistic groups native to the islands of Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, the eastern half of Negros, the western half of Leyte, and the northern coastal areas of Northern Mindanao and the Zamboanga del Norte due to Spanish settlements during 18th century. Correct me po if I am wrong.
Me acting like I don’t care and understand but the truth is I’m absorbing all the negative thoughts thoroughly.
@@aljohnpolyglot yeah! Thx sa reply🥹 for vocabulary’s expansion pwede naman mag alternates between languages, pero with it comes to building or constructing sentences hindi nakakatulong kung mag iisip ka pa sa tagalog bago ka mag-shift sa ibang language. Lastly, always remember the 4 most fundamental method of studying languages Listening Speaking Reading Writing Pag matatatag ang listening comprehension mo, Kaya mong sabihin as it is kung ano ang naririnig mo kahit hindi mo pa naiintindihan. Then you move forward sa readings, either for reseach or just pure reading para sa vocabulary expansion and last na ang pagsusulat.

Dialect is a variation of a language. To put it into context, Cebuano is a language that originated in Cebu, but the Cebuano language is also spoken in other places in Mindanao but with local variations, for example in Cebuano bahay is balay but in Surigao it is bayay or apoy is kayo in Cebuano but in places like Iligan we say kalayo.
True. Bisaya is a totally different language from Tagalog. Bisaya is a language that has different dialects - Cebuano dialect, Davao dialect, Leyte dialect, Negros dialect, etc. Fellow Bisaya can communicate with each other but there are few words that are different. Like example, "fever" in Cebuano Bisaya is "hilanat" but in Davao Bisaya is "kalintura". Nindot in Cebuano Bisaya is Tsada in CdO Bisaya.
Binisaya (Bisaya) is a language and it has dialects spoken from other regions. Its dialects are, for example, Sinugbuanong Binisaya (Cebu) and Dabawenyong Binisaya (Davao). There’s also a Negrosanong Binisaya. These are dialects that can be mutually understood by other speakers of Binisaya (Bisaya).
I think I need to learn that technique... I still have a long way to go to be fluent in 7 more languages namely: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malay, Bahasa Indonesian, French and Spanish.

The distinction between a dialect and a language is often subjective and can be influenced by sociopolitical factors. Generally, a language is a broader system of communication with its own grammar and vocabulary, while a dialect refers to a variety of a language spoken in a particular region or by a specific group. Sometimes, the difference is more political than linguistic, and what is considered a dialect in one context might be seen as a separate language in another.
I'd say exploring the other languages that is used as a base like Indian and Arabic would go well as Tagalog already use those 2 much like how it is so much simpler to learn English and Spanish as a Filipino speaker as those 2 are the 2 parts of 3 of Filipino. Now, I'm not quite sure about modern Indian but I can attest with modern Arabic that there are still some words that are applicable to Tagalog. But I can definitely hear that the South East still use an Indian accent.

Languages Have a Country, While Dialects Are Regional But it's always pointed out that languages are national, while dialects are said to be regional and are often spoken by a fewer number of people. Correct me po if I am wrong.
Me acting like I don’t care and understand but the truth is I’m absorbing all the negative thoughts thoroughly.
Ako nalilito sa English haha Lalo na sa Had , have at Kung kelan gagamitan Ng Was pero nakaka English Naman ako😅
this is exactly what I did! thanks for sharing!
@@aljohnpolyglot yeah! Thx sa reply🥹 for vocabulary’s expansion pwede naman mag alternates between languages, pero with it comes to building or constructing sentences hindi nakakatulong kung mag iisip ka pa sa tagalog bago ka mag-shift sa ibang language. Lastly, always remember the 4 most fundamental method of studying languages
Listening
Speaking
Reading
Writing
Pag matatatag ang listening comprehension mo, Kaya mong sabihin as it is kung ano ang naririnig mo kahit hindi mo pa naiintindihan. Then you move forward sa readings, either for reseach or just pure reading para sa vocabulary expansion and last na ang pagsusulat.

Aljohn ang galing mo! I hope I can learn at least 4 languages! Galing mo!
These are dialects that can be mutually understood by other speakers of Binisaya (Bisaya).
yep yep, Filipinos are naturallly polyglots due to various languages inside the country!
Gifted man and intelligent. 😁he is a hard worker
Thank you sa video mo na to. Na-inspire ulit ako ituloy yung Japanese lesson ko.
I think I need to learn that technique... I still have a long way to go to be fluent in 7 more languages namely: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malay, Bahasa Indonesian, French and Spanish.
Malay and Indonesia is similar and i think you have to pick one of them.. but Indonesian is the most common to learn than Malay..
Indonesian has more commercial resources available. That is my suggestion.
felicitaciones, hermano. Soy filipino y tambien y hablo portugues y espanol. Y quiero ser como tu algun dia, un poliglot. hoy en dia estoy estudiando frances y me gustaria mejorarlo junto con el italiano. Salud!

Bisaya/Cebuano is one of the 8 regional languages recognised in the Philippines (Pampango is one of the 8 as well). Kapampangan ranks in the 7th place based on the number of native speakers with 2M plus (native speakers in number) while Cebuano is 22M+. Cebuano and Tagalog are the most common native languages spoken in the Philippines.
Hiligaynon or inilonggo or Binisaya 9.1 millions pangalawa sa Visayas region most widely spoken.

Correct Mr. Abduljakul Salsalani😊
True. After all a language is a dialect with an army and a navy 😉

Hi Aljohn, I have a language challenge for you because you love challenges. Learn Hungarian. It is said to be one of the languages that is the hardest for English speakers to learn. Would love to see you one day speaking Hungarian on one of your videos. :)

I just realized that he is better than Mayor Alice Guo. Despite spending two years learning, he acquired a total of 9 languages, unlike her, who has spent many years living on a farm in Tarlac and interacting with many people, but has never learned or remembered anything in life. Just saying my opinion ✌️

Languages are broader, and dialects are smaller and more specific, and often regional. Languages are thought of as more formal and clearly defined, whereas dialects can be looser and more fluid in use. Oftentimes, languages are adopted as “official” by countries and states, but dialects rarely are

Bisaya is also a language. How you will define it is that, dialect is the manner of how you speak language. Like Tagalog for example, it is the language for the most part of Luzon but there are different dialects like Batangueno and Caviteno, they their way of speaking Tagalog. That is dialect. Bisaya has different languages as well, Davao and Cebu has different manner of speaking the language of Bisaya. That is what dialect is.
All this time I thought Bisaya is a dialect not a language. Thank you for the information 🥰🙏
True Yung pronunciation/ intonation is very important kase mag iba Ang meaning tulad ng Turkish Language po
Bisaya is a language same as Tagalog and Ilocano . In fact we have 180 languages here in the Philippines. We should be proud we are a MULTILINGUAL society. The Hosts should know that!

Languages Have a Country, While Dialects Are Regional
But it's always pointed out that languages are national, while dialects are said to be regional and are often spoken by a fewer number of people. Each country has at least one official language that's used in official documents and government activities.
