Hi richpin, I appreciate very much your explanation its help me a lot.very clear you clearly explains the schematic diagram. Good job richpin, May almighty God jehovah bless you.
Hi richpin I am auto and diesel mechanic for more than 5 decade already.l met thousands of mechanics from several countries with different categories.but you are one of the best instructors I have seen very kind in explaining diagram.the complicated diagram you made it easy to understand.thanks I learned a lot from you.
Thanks for this post, Blowing F1 fuses on my 94 tracker so need to understand the wiring system better in order to figure it out, this video certainly helps.
The wires from the injectors do go to the computer. If you are not getting anything at the injectors there is a possibility that the computer is not seeing a sensor like a crank or cam sensor. In which case it would shut down the fuel delivery.
The diode is installed facing the power flow so the power does not see the diode. The reverse polarity of the voltage spike will see the diode and short out the spike.
Thank you for your time in providing this off the hook video. am studying for Ase a6 in electrical. was most helpful to me....... Best Regards .....Tom H
Thank you for your videos. The problem that I encounter is the availability of good schematics. The good ones that professionals use are cost prohibitive for do-it-yourselfers. The ones that are shown in repair manuals or offered at no cost are nothing but block diagrams.
Thank you richpin. This was just what I needed. It seams that my cooling fan stoped working. Fusses checked ok and so did the relay and the high low switch. Ac works but the fan just won't switch.. what do you think it could be?
Rich looking for the second time your video I notice at the relay load side is 85 and 87 and control side is 30, 86 I think you got that wrong.. it should be 85, 86 control side and 30, 87 load side..
Is the Control Module grounded and not shown? How are electron allowed to flow to allow the current to flow and the coil to energize? Lastly, is the coil inducing/energizing the switch from NO to a closed position?
Rich, my buddy has a 93 GMC full sized pick-up 5.7 with TBI, the 2 injectors aren't getting pulse, he replaced the fuel pump about a week ago, then yesterday he replaced the dist. pick-up which i installed for him, also module, none of which worked, do you feel it's a PCM/wire problem?, In the dark i used a test light to test pulse, i used bat. + and when key is on light on, cranking = no light, it should pulse-- is the pulse regulated by the PCM only? I will try to help him tom. in the day
I have one question with respect to diode, during normal operation, (when compressor running), will not the same logic applies like the feed wire seeing the diode and shut down the ground. In other words can u pls advise me, what will happen if that diode is not there during that back electro magnetic force(emf), and is that emf is positive or negative volts. I assume it is positive and you are dumping that positive that ground, if so why the same is not happening during compressor running.
hii so the ac diode is to short the generated power to ground to save the relay from arching damage. why the diode is wrong direction ? i know if the diode is reversed from the above shown direction , then it will short power to ground all the time and burn it .. but how can the regenerated power from the already shut down coil go thru diode ? why not replace the diode with a high resistance resistor ? just want to know. thx andrew
One thing to note... items outlined in dotted lines, like the power train module (computer) in these examples, indicate that there is more to this item, and whats shown is just what pertains to this individual circuit.
Hi Rich. Great video. I am an automotive instructor, and I would like to use this diagram as an intro to sensor communication. Would you be able to tell me which wiring diagrams you used in this video? Thank you so much!
Hi Richpin I have a 2002 Saturn L300, My ac compressor don't turn on, and my fuel and water temp gauge dont work. I think its my Bcm. Does the ac circuit go through the Bcm ?. I read static pressures on my gauges. I CHANGE MY HI PRESSURE SENSOR. When I bypassed my ac relay the Compressor engages. My relay and fuses are good. So my Ecm is not completing the circuit. So the only thing left is the ac control switch or Bcm or ecm ? Thanks. 😇😃🐬😃😇
hi, when u say reverse poliarty will see the diode and shunt it with ground .. i assume the wire always carry +ive current all the time with compressor on or off, when off magnetic field is creating AC wave.. so wny are saying it as reverse polarity
hi Rich I want to know that how to figure out 4 different colors wire motor that wether this motor is single speed or double...if single ..which one starting n running wires...if double speed ..which two wires are for speed ...thanks a lot
Have pulse now but injectors frozen so no fuel delivery, he had another TBI with injectors so i tested those injectors with a 9 v battery and they click, others did nothing, now trying to get a gasket as they are one use gaskets --then it should be ok, truck has been better days if you get my drift
Hi Rich! Cool video but I have a question about a 2004 Ford Focus LEFT rear power window that I hope you can answer. My LEFT rear window won't go UP but it did go DOWN, and all other windows work fine. I took out the switch to the LEFT rear window and replaced it with the RIGHT rear window switch, but the window still won't go UP, so I figure it's not the switch. I also bought 2 other switches and they didn't work the window either. I used a test light to see if there was any difference in how the electricity was distributed in the switch unit and here's what I found. Both switches get power from the same colored wire and at the same connection in the switches. However, while the RIGHT switch (the good one) distributes power to only one connection in the switch when the window is raised and puts power to a different connection when the window is lowered, the LEFT switch unit (the thing that connects to the switch itself) puts power to the same connection as the RIGHT switch unit when I press DOWN, BUT when I press UP, three (3) connections (not just one as in the good switch get power. There are 6 wires to each switch. The black and the purple/yellow wires never get power at all when the switch is pushed UP or DOWN. Do you think there's a short in the motor in the LEFT door which is causing 3 connections to light up when the switch is pushed for the window to go UP? Any help will be appreciated. Ask me any questions and I'll try to make this more understandable. Thank you very much. kl
How is ground the pulse? It's very confusing, the entire car frame, engine and electrical is all tied together so how is the flow of current going through ground and not ungrounded?? If you ground an electrical device and run current from neg to POS how does it not fry or blow a fuse?? I just don't get it

richpin06a : hey , it would be very interesting if you manage to create a video where you'll explain how the coolant temp information goes into instrument cluster. I have an Audi A4 B5 and my temp gauge doesn't move at all. It is not the sensor so i think it's a cluster problem, a connector problem that may need soldering or on the board anything that goes on the way of information reaching the temp gauge . Thanks
Hi Rich do you have any links in which to find BS (Brittish Standard) symbols at all that i can print off to relate back to when looking at a wiring diagram at work thanks
At the "Hvac control head"... why is there no resisters/variable resister shown in the control knob for (off, low,m1,m2 & hi) settings... for outputting a set voltage to computer to later turn on motor at these settings?.... Is the "pressure switch" physically this component? (or maybe somehow connected to it)... This diagram looks like it just turns on ac without taking into account the settings...
I don't understand the ac diode. If it only allows voltage to the relay, how can it allow voltage the other way to ground? The diode would disallow voltage to ground
If only they were all that simple! Good idea for a video! If I'd done it, I'd say step 1: get some 2x reading glasses! I guess I'm getting old, I can't see those pesky lines on the standard wiring diagrams
We need proper single line diagram for read electrical map.for example what is the symbol for tv,ac,fridge, washing machine, cooler ,heater, fan, tube light, incandecent lamp, switches, etc...
This was well done. It is amazing how clear things become when the right person explains it!

you really explained beautifully especially that diode part..............fantastic
Thanks for this post, Blowing F1 fuses on my 94 tracker so need to understand the wiring system better in order to figure it out, this video certainly helps.
I just came across this video doing some research. Very helpful. Thank you.
Rich, your shop looks nice and worn in. Please give us a tour!
Just got a BS in EE & i still found this vid very helpful. Thanks for tje clear explanation 👍😊

The diode is installed facing the power flow so the power does not see the diode. The reverse polarity of the voltage spike will see the diode and short out the spike.
Couldn't you just say that the diode is only there to suppress the voltage spike since it cannot go to ground because it is forward biased?

Thank you for the kind words Tom.
Nice video. I really liked the point you brought up about the diode. Thanks so much for your time.
All wiring diagrams BMW from 1998 to 2022 are in this application android (Bimma EWD)
What a great video. Thanks a lot for the clear explanation.
You are welcome!
Excellent Video. Thank you for this great video

Great video richpin I appreciate all your videos teaches me a lot keep them coming!
@Richpin06a Great vid! Would you mind letting me where you sourced the symbol definition chart that you used. Keep teaching! Thnx.
Absolutely excellent video sir.
Awesome informations. Thank U for sharing my friend.
Thank you richpin. This was just what I needed. It seams that my cooling fan stoped working. Fusses checked ok and so did the relay and the high low switch. Ac works but the fan just won't switch.. what do you think it could be?
I took a class on hvacr and am certified too bad i couldn't land a job , but wanted to give you propz on this vid.
Thank to you Rich I am learning electrical system and you just give me a good class how to understand the system..
As usual Richpin your vid is excellent! thank you very much once again.
Thanks, That was very informative and good explained! I woul like to see more videos like this! Thanks again!
Rich looking for the second time your video I notice at the relay load side is 85 and 87 and control side is 30, 86 I think you got that wrong.. it should be 85, 86 control side and 30, 87 load side..
Thanks for this video! I'm just starting to learn this stuff.
i love your video they way you explain how it works. i want more video if you can upload more new video please.. please ... please...
Thank you for taking the time to share this! It is appreciated.
wonderful lecture thanks a lot for uploading videos best regards
very good, excellent explanation thanks
Really helpful video!!! Thanks Mr. :)
Sir you’re really brilliant
It's very instructive but isn't Thérèse an error between 30&85 connections, in the first wiring diagram
Is the Control Module grounded and not shown? How are electron allowed to flow to allow the current to flow and the coil to energize? Lastly, is the coil inducing/energizing the switch from NO to a closed position?

If the lights go out with your foot still pressing on the brake pedal i think i would start by looking at the brake switch.
Hey Rich, how about a video tour of your shop?
RICH! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!!!
Hi Rich. Great video. I am an automotive instructor, and I would like to use this diagram as an intro to sensor communication. Would you be able to tell me which wiring diagrams you used in this video? Thank you so much!
It was from a library database.
Thanks, it's very easy to understand
Thank you sir. It is very good information.

You got your answer, yet?
No. It seems no one knows what's keeping my rear window from working. Are you having the same problem?
No! Just curious :-)
Maybe if you had a wiring diagram you could follow , you think that would help you ? I could provide you with one
kathy loften use a jump wire to the wiring from the switch to see if that makes the window go up then let me know what happens
Any video on explaining smps circuit diagram

so a relay basically acts like a switch in a way ?
Yes it does basically acts like a switch.
1:35 3 tones away from sounding like Peter Griffin thank you for teaching
Awesome explained
Real life Peter Griffin teaching us how to read schematics..... it makes learning way more fun. Thumbs Up Peter
lol
Thanks Rich I've learned some more

Thank you for sharing the vedio gdbless
can you explain how to identify the terminal of motor without any marking??
Thank you, thoroughly explained.
You are the man. Great info.
I would check the motor itself.
thanks you sir, I'm going to study the hell out of this video. I'm trying to pass the A6 ase
sir can you show how elevator circuit diagram read and working principle ?? 10q

hey wear can i get one of these chart at let me know thanks for the great video
Hi sir can you please make more videos on how to wire this in actual.
yes to shop tour video, and yes to Rich being in front of the camera too..lol
I need air cooled chiller wiring diagarm without pc board manuallay
Super video sir
We need proper single line diagram for read electrical map.for example what is the symbol for tv,ac,fridge, washing machine, cooler ,heater, fan, tube light, incandecent lamp, switches, etc...
Thank you.
Thank you my friend.
hy mate, thaaaaaank u very much that was so infomative
Great vid!
