missjanet88 It's a singing "technique" singers use sometimes when they are either 1) trying to save their voice during a long performance or when vocal endurance is low or the range of a song requires them to save the voice for that higher register or 2) they are trying add a different feel to a song or 3) they just plain overdo it. The singing voice ( for some) is delicate and only gets more delicate as we age. Some age well, such as Aretha Franklin or George Jones. Some don't (Robert Plant, Peter Cetera, Mariah Carey, etc.).
I hear that. If she's gonna wear her hair short, it needs to be even all around. Plus she's too old for that shaved on one side mess. Nevertheless, I'm still a fan of the first 10 years of her career.
