Just a little PSA if you didn’t already know, they make compression wraps for dogs with bad hips or joking or legs. Something to look into for your sweet Drogba, might help his joints.
Jamie, as Drogba gets older and more stiff you should definitely talk to your vet about non steroidal pain relief such as meloxicam and there's also a new monthly injection that works amazingly for osteoarthritis called Librela! Both of these can be used alongside joint supplements :) I'm a vet nurse so see lots of puppers that struggle with their joints and all these things definitely help to keep them more comfortable ❤️
I used to work for a natural health centre and we would have lots of people come in for their dogs, salmon oil is great for joints but also turmeric or (higher concentrate) curcumin tablets. Have a research, they are great for stiff or old dogs 🤍 all my love x
Ok random tip for your bedroom carpet- put a few ice cubes on the indents and they should come out - also I grew up raising GSD and look up Wapati Senior Mobility
I worked at an animal hospital and the veterinarian would often prescribe carprofen for our senior patients. The difference was night and day in how they felt. Carprofen is like Ibuprofen but for dogs. Ask your vet about it. He will feel better in a day or two. Discuss the pros and cons of long term use vs just when he's feeling like an older dog. Also, don't fret about how long he will live. You never know. I know big dogs that have lived 15 years. Your baby is so well cared for so I expect you'll have him longer than you think. Congrats on the success of the launch.
@Penny Johnson (NickleDimeAndQuarter) Carprofen is what my senior boy takes, he's 11 now. He's beginning new treatments this week, laser and acupuncture. This new technology is said to have amazing results and causes no anxiety, stress, pain or discomfort & no sedation is needed. You also get to stay with your pooch during treatments. With Drogba being only 7 Carprofen's long term negative effects could outweigh the immediate positive relief. Have you heard of these treatments? They are pretty new but highly recommended... And yes! All but a couple of my dogs were large breeds and had good long lives😊💞🥰
Your idea of having a top detail added to your Pax unit to make it look like a proper built-in sounds fantastic. I think it will be a finishing touch to make that element more "permanent" and less like a store-bought thing. Also, it will make it fit more into the vintage vibe of the house.

You might also look into Glucosime Condroditin. It's a vitamin you can get in the US at the drugstore, but I grew up showing big dogs (my Mom bred Golden Retrievers) and when they got older, she always gave it to them to help their joints. Drogba! heart, heart, heart.

some great remedies for slightly older, becoming arthritic dogs would be(of course consult your vet first but...) a joint care food - something like hills j/d or rc mobility food. Fish oil supplements - 4cyte or antinol rapid or osteo chews are great too. You can get arthritis injections at the vets for them every few months to help. warm soft beds for them of course he is already getting that. it is very very common for German sheps to develop joint issues and arthritis when they're older but lil drogs is so well loved and cared for already he is going to be ok xxx
I love the open windows and then a curtain if needed, I love looking outside and seeing the sky and the trees! We call it a quarter round here in the US for the wardrobe and yes! That would be perfect! Redo the bathroom, make it what you want and your ideas are brilliant! Love you Jamie!!!

Can I just say that part of why I love your blogs is because of your babies ❤️. I had a German Shepard for 12 amazing years and I miss her everyday. She was incredible and one of the things that helped as she got older was pumpkin as well as glucosamine & condroiden (wrong spelling lol).
My parents used to go to Miami quite often and just went a month ago and had the worst experiences. They said the culture and environment has changed so much. They felt really uncomfortable and were treated really poorly by the other guests/locals in the area. I’m not sure if it was the timing or just situational but they aren’t the only ones I’ve heard mention this!

Suggestion for the bathroom window if you have plain glass installed, look up Rabbitgoo window privacy film on amazon its really pretty and comes in different patterns. I've seen a video and when the sun shines through it reflects rainbow colours 🥰

previcox is a slightly safer medication for senior pets who need that antimflam pain relief! generally great for arthritic patients.

If your already moving the position of the tub, you could move the shower next to the tub and put the vanity in place of existing shower.
