I can just imagine Mrs Vince walking in and seeing a levitating moccasin, and then just walking away shaking her head. This is definitely a classic MMV fix, such a pointless but beautiful thing! Great job, Vince 👍
The design probably had only 4 screws at the corners, but after manufacturing they realized that the long piece of plastic buckles in the middle and just slapped some adhesive afterwards to prevent it from bulging out. At least this is my guess.
Good job, Vince. I have a similar magnetic levitation device, but the magnet is forced up from below. The "sound" you referred to is a buzzing of the electromagnetic coils on that circuit board being switched on and off by a Hall effect transistor. Thanks. Have fun.
The sound you hear is just the coil that switches on and off on command of a sensor (HAL sensor, ultrasonic sensor, or optical sensor, or sensing distance by current measurement of AC current in the coil).
LOL @ the floating slipper! An interesting fix! PS: you want to be careful what you levitate - strong magnetic fields can kill some stuff. LMFAO at trying to butter the rotating, floating bread! 🤣
The amount of times I found my LED driver disconnected after shifting furniture around, or in your case, it may have come off in transit. I used a drop of hot glue to keep the wire and LED driver connected. It doesn't take much to disconnect it.
like the kinds that have two or more armetures on a turntable with a row of leds that spins to give the elusion of a constant floting text? Iv seen some toy fans like that too.
This is awesome Vince Vince actually just started getting into sneakers and these have peaked my interest because I see the ads and wonder what's going on with this
The fix it king is back!, great to see another fix it video Vince, you're videos are always enjoyable to watch, been watching your older videos all week, I can never get tired of your content, have a great weekend and all the best buddy 👍
Your "new-found passion" made me laugh heartily. I could happily watch a whole video of you levitating increasingly ridiculous items (though I do think the bread would be hard to top).
You should made this into a model display for your man-cave, Mandalorian, Stormtrooper display unit, something like that, and lower the air speed for a slow rotation. Would be cool!
Ugh a ruddy slipper! Never thought I'd see levitating bread today, you might say it's "leavened bread" 🤣 I thought at first that fan was for cooling but I can see how it's a good solution to rotate it now.
It’s amazing how some companies will just write stuff of and say bin it rather than recall and sort out, I suppose if the comp has gone bust they can’t recall. Nice fix Vince.
I got one second hand and it's not working. Obviously the fan doesn't move when two magnets are placed close to each other. Would it be circuit issue? Apparently the led lights work fine. Spent over 5 hours to fix it but not successful.
such a cool item and the end of the video I was thinking as a practising magician what I could levitate :) and what an easy fix :) then I saw the ending with all the items levitating and thought to myself awesome Vince :)
What a unique item. Watching these fixes even if it is a simple manufacture error is always great. I was wondering if you had ever searched for old cuckoo clocks on ebay.I think one of those would make for an interesting repair, and the clockworks would be much easier to work on than a wristwatch, yet still be very interesting.
it's a cool concept, but its expensive for what it is.. Thanks for sharing vince, i love your videos.. stay safe and see you in your next video Brother.
I don't think (almost obviously) ;) anyone would buy them. I saw these things in many stores few years back though, so they were probably sent out by the shoe manufacturer or distributor for window display purposes.
Oh, maybe if I had put the magnet up to the top it would have worked. Yes, I bet you are correct. I assumed as did the seller that it was dead because the lights weren't on and nothing happens on the remote control. Thank you👍👍👍
Reminds me of those levitating world globes you can purchase, nice fix Vince. Edit now theres something she who should not be named could be made to do , a floating smart speaker powered by a close field power supply.
Top tip for working with tacky adhesives: I keep my isopropyl alcohol in a trigger pump bottle so I can spray it into tight spaces because IPA has the magical ability to inhibit every tacky adhesive I've ever encountered, for at least a few seconds until it evaporates, after which the adhesive regains its properties completely unaffected.
Thanks Vince! I can see that due to poor restraint of the "heavy" led controller, that a bump, would knock that controller loose. I've got hundreds of meters of that LED tape and those 4 pin connections have a very light fit. BTW, Everyone can use a scale! I use mine to weigh RC hobby parts, mixing epoxy, baking in the kitchen and so much more😎
Haha as I kid I didn't even know there was an air bubble i just thought it was a see through thing and the rubber things you see inside were the sole/etc. Never seen them burst or even heard of it. How did they feel after it the air was out? Terrible?
I think I'd watch a 20 minute video of you trying to levitate items in your house. That was fun. If I had a sneaker collection, I would buy a few of them.
You've only just started to wear that slipper out Vince, my Grandad used to put cardboard on the inside of his slippers when holes started appearing. For the ultimate in comfort though if anyone ever had new carpet fitted he'd cadge an offcut for his slippers, cutting the shape out, lol!
I'm here for the dirty slipper and I can confidently say I was not disappointed. It would be an interesting to make a levitating Bluetooth speaker out of that thing
The noise is a consequence of magnetostriction and physics. The electro magnet is doing PWM in response to a hall effect sensor in a PID loop. You're hearing vibrations in the device as a consequence of the PWM and newton's laws. It pushes against the magnet in the shoe. The forces of suspension are equally and opposite applied to the levitator. The modulation creates vibrations, aka sound and sensation.
I've got a 3 year old ring doorbell 1 that stopped working. There's no light and it's not charging. It's getting hot around the charging port when the charger is plugged in. I would like to send it to you if you're interested. I've already bought a new one so I don't want it back.
I never had that temptation, I spent money out of my own labor for shoes like that and ruining them was the last thing on my mind, I would have fought someone over that
That bit a the end was exactly me when i had my levitron too. I used to use it to float model cars, lego, An empty CD Rom drive that had the innards ripped out. All kinds of stupid things just because i could! Good work Vince. Now i'm sure you'll move on to levitating pastries/cakes for the wife! lol (That's what i did!)
Yes it is the fan but also when the trainers/bread etc. is in the perfect place it creates a little buzzing noise and also feels different. The camera mic didn't pick up the difference in noise unfortunately 👍
I can just imagine the kids at school, the Mrs at work, and you going around the house to see what stuff you can levitate 🤣. not a bad job if you ask me lol
Should take off your watch if its a mechanical, those displays radiate some dirty magnetics and you will have to degauss your watch. My £17 Switch arrived today, bare tablet but everything works, can't check the dock but seller says dock doesn't work, bought a set of aftermarket Joycons for £13 and are actually not bad as expecting super nasty cheapness, been doing Super Mario World all day instead of working on me studioette lol
I wanted to see the electronics, I guess the noise you hear is some type of switching of a coil..dunno but at least you have a novelty bog roll holder...cheers.
I kept watching because it was another interesting video from Vince, but I can't imagine why such an object would exist, except perhaps as a shop display. I have better things to do with my money. But then I'm 78, not 18.
I can just imagine Mrs Vince walking in and seeing a levitating moccasin, and then just walking away shaking her head. This is definitely a classic MMV fix, such a pointless but beautiful thing! Great job, Vince 👍
😂😂 Hahah distributing the smell around the room makes it all the more disturbing!
Just imagine if she stayed around to see the levitating bread and toilet rolls!
🤣
This is the most unnecessary item i have ever seen. But like allways a very entertaining video. Carry on mate!
The way this video turned into a vince plays with levitation video, hilarious.
"You know what he did then? Stuck two toilet rolls on a game controller and set it twirling like a ballerina. Funniest nonsense you ever saw."
I wish i could give more than one thumbs up on this one!!!!! LOVE IT. Carry on the fantastic job. love the channel.
Cool fix Vince. I love the variety on your channel
Great fix. I don't care much about shoes that I would display them but I would display that slipper all day. The thing itself looks fun.
A levitating bread holder while you butter it is the best invention yet.
Ah HA, you found a way to make it exciting to watch ALL THE WAY to the end, credits and all.
GOOD SHOW!
New passion, levitating things..
Awesome
My Saturday has been levitated to a new level of joy and happiness. StAnKy SLiPpEr and all. Thanks! I needed that. Cheers!
The design probably had only 4 screws at the corners, but after manufacturing they realized that the long piece of plastic buckles in the middle and just slapped some adhesive afterwards to prevent it from bulging out. At least this is my guess.
And screws only in the corners is nicer.
The ending was worth sticking around for :D Gave me a smile!
😂👍 Thanks Karthik
Good job, Vince. I have a similar magnetic levitation device, but the magnet is forced up from below. The "sound" you referred to is a buzzing of the electromagnetic coils on that circuit board being switched on and off by a Hall effect transistor. Thanks. Have fun.
Thanks Leo👍👍
Levitating a loaf of bread to display makes about as much sense to me as levitating a shoe. Well done!
😂👍
My Mate Vince - The Edd China of the DIY world. ...Brilliant!
Keep up the good work! 👍🙂🇬🇧
Vince going all mad scientist at the end is everything I needed today ❤❤❤❤
The sound you hear is just the coil that switches on and off on command of a sensor (HAL sensor, ultrasonic sensor, or optical sensor, or sensing distance by current measurement of AC current in the coil).
Oh the rotating slipper is a gem! Very entertaining fix on another unique item.
Thank you Roger. Exactly what it should have been designed for 😂👍
@@Mymatevince I used to have similar slippers until my wife banned them.
@@RetroTechRepair 😂🤣

I'd love to see one of those spinning 3D holographic advertising displays being fixed if you ever found one.
like the kinds that have two or more armetures on a turntable with a row of leds that spins to give the elusion of a constant floting text?
Iv seen some toy fans like that too.
1st class video to watch thank you take care kind regards from me kenneth😊
Great Fix, next time keep an eye out for the arrows that indicate the +12V or +5V so you plug it correctly.
Seeing the slipper spinning and the various things floating at the end has got me in stitches 😂😂😂 god I love this channel
This was a great video to end the day on. Loved the toilet roll holder and other items. Thanks!
Loved the ending bits with random levitating items, that was grand haha
This is awesome Vince Vince actually just started getting into sneakers and these have peaked my interest because I see the ads and wonder what's going on with this
Finally! I started to get bored of watching your old videos
I've just started watching this and the excitement I also felt when it WASN'T a simple fix is...... strange!
Funny at the end Vince.
That bread roll has given me the urge to go and make myself a bacon sandwich with red rocking horse .
The fix it king is back!, great to see another fix it video Vince, you're videos are always enjoyable to watch, been watching your older videos all week, I can never get tired of your content, have a great weekend and all the best buddy 👍

Wouldn’t that be the nicest utility for the next Silvester Stallone movie? What‘s that? Levitating bread. What does it do?
It’s amazing how some companies will just write stuff of and say bin it rather than recall and sort out, I suppose if the comp has gone bust they can’t recall. Nice fix Vince.

such a cool item and the end of the video I was thinking as a practising magician what I could levitate :) and what an easy fix :) then I saw the ending with all the items levitating and thought to myself awesome Vince :)
Really unusual item but great at the same time. Really enjoyed this one vince. This would look great in a shop window.
Priceless ending xD
Always enjoyable content, great work mate :)
The Bread Spinner is nominated for the best innovation of 2022.
Levitating bread roll is EVERYTHING! Thanks for the laughs, Vince
Nice simple fix but the very end is the best. I got a good laugh :)

Thanks Phillip, only once but there was nothing interesting on eBay, I might look again for a faulty one👍👍
I'm glad you started using your loaf at the end 😆 👍
Lol the end ...Vince that's funny
your so great my mate vince i love this video at the end
it's a cool concept, but its expensive for what it is.. Thanks for sharing vince, i love your videos.. stay safe and see you in your next video Brother.
its sooooo unique btw been subbed from the day u uploaded the ps4 slim setup vid
I've been watching your channel for like 2 or 3 years
at the end, was pretty funny tho 🤣
This has to be one of the most ridiculous items I've ever seen, who would buy a shoe display? 🤷♂️ Anyway, Great video Vince as always.
There are people who collect sneakers, some of these go for thousands of Euros. This item is made for them.
Well Vince obviously
I don't think (almost obviously) ;) anyone would buy them. I saw these things in many stores few years back though, so they were probably sent out by the shoe manufacturer or distributor for window display purposes.
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo I simply must show off my slave labour manufactured trainers!
@My Mate VINCE Are you sure that the LED being unplugged was keeping the magnetic part from working? I think that remote was only for the LED light.
Oh, maybe if I had put the magnet up to the top it would have worked. Yes, I bet you are correct. I assumed as did the seller that it was dead because the lights weren't on and nothing happens on the remote control. Thank you👍👍👍
It’s like something Dennis the menaces dad would have to keep his slippers in. 😂 nice work
That last few minutes had me in stitches 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the bit at the end.
Lol that last bit with the butter ! 😅
I wish to see the circuit board and the electrical magnetic inside it i'm very curious if you please can do disassembly video that would be great 😃😃
What on earth is that?! Great video Vince when are you going to try and fix your slippers?🤣
Reminds me of those levitating world globes you can purchase, nice fix Vince. Edit now theres something she who should not be named could be made to do , a floating smart speaker powered by a close field power supply.

Yeah, I have a fair amount of led strips in my retro game corner.
Those controllers can barely hold their own weight.
Awesome Video Vince Just What I was needing after a stressful day keep up the Amazing work and ill think about joining your patreon soon : )
is the noise, the fan?
Nice Job Vince. Good Job it wasn't made by Apple 5 different screws and 3 tubs of glue to get it open !!!!!
In those RGB lightstrip designs the Arrows should line up as that is the positive rail... edit you noticed :)

I'm here for the dirty slipper and I can confidently say I was not disappointed.
It would be an interesting to make a levitating Bluetooth speaker out of that thing
I wonder if the trainer magnet has enough pull to detach that socket while in the box?
You find the oddest things. So interesting. :)
"This is one of the weirdest things I am going todo on my channel" - Goes and does a whole Rolls Royce

Could you do more old handheld LCD game (repair) videos?
Will you keep this or sell it
I would love to have that thing. I'd make a nicer and little bigger frame for it, and get a nice globe to levitate and spin in it.
