My pleasure -- Roger Waters once said that the aim of true music is to move someone in empathy and emotion; if it cannot do that, then it has done nothing. I'm glad my music has reached you.. :)
I listen to alot of heavily folk influenced metal music, but never really listened to actual traditional music in this sense, and It's truly amazing man :3 this song feels like a gift, thank you :)
Bro, I posted on this video because it's your personal favourite and you're most likely to check it. I'm really really really really really really really impressed with your music. Thank you for bringing it into the world
You're welcome-and thank you ;) there are a lot more "hardcore" folk tunes out there, some ppl might call this song more of a 'folk-rock' for its heavy beat/rhythm. I grew up listening to metal, and in my mid-teens folk-metal groups served as a bridge for me to get into real folk music (believe it or not).Svartesot,Equilibrium,Cruachan,Crimfall,Arkona,Folkearth,Moonsorrow-and the thematic bands like Amon Amarth and Nile of course.Whilst Iron Maiden and Zepplin led me to those, those led me to folk
This, as with other songs of yours, bring out the best of that sublimely spectral subgenre of acid folk; and recall the favored lineage of Pentangle's first, Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore" and Heart's "Sylvan Song" / "Dream of the Archer". Although, in all sincerity I have to say, with each successive play, these inimitable pieces from Hymir's Kettle are seen to bear your distinctive mark, with the high compliment of progenitors past as mere incidentals.
Takke -- yes it is a picture of a Danish archeological find of a Thor's Hammer pendant , one that was likely a common mold, and one that I wear myself. But, the layout you see here is the Hymir's Kettle logo - it is featured in all of my videos
My first comment got cut off -- what I was going to say, was, I'm glad you like the video! And glad to hear another with a wide range of tastes -- I wonder really how many Nile fans come around these parts, eh? ;)
You may ask ;) Sometimes it depends; but it can be safely said the main instruments of Hymir's Kettle tend to be mandolin, Irish bouzouki, taiko drum, flute, and acoustic guitar. That's what makes the main sound. But sometimes I will bring in an oboe (like Battle of the Five Armies) or a didgeridoo for the background, mouth harp, etc.
They should definitely make a movie like braveheart, but it's the irish rebellion in 1600 (osullivan a march). Or another story during William Wallace's time.
well..... what if we changd the plot a little... ofcourse William Wallace wasnt about love.. but the movie braveheart said "lets make it a love story" . maybe we can describe the movie as a love story. so that violence wont stick with the audience after they saw theentire movie...
They came from a planet called Erra, which is located around the Pleiades Star called Taygeta. Here is where they started their new civilization in the year 228,000 B.C.
Not useless - very cool, thanks for sharing ;) I will say that personally, no I do not mind such a question. But first off I should say, that this RUclips channel (OdinIsMyGuide) which is laid out for Hymir's Kettle, is not meant to be a religious message/project or anything like that. I cannot say I'm a follower of any 1 person or thing. My heritage hails both celtic and norse-and I have found myself drawn to both. Thats as much as I can fit in a comment; I've studied theology for many years
I haven't found a website for the group, to be sure about who's playing, but, after listening to several performances on the playlist, I'd say their music is heavily masculine and could benefit with balance, by some feminine influence.
Please can we marry and spend our days dancing in the meadows, and reading ancient languages and singing old folk songs. All i currently do anyway, we may as well together >.<
I wish you all the luck Mr.John Kane. Sadly for me... "dis aliter visum" but oh well... another life time and all that. I hope you have a very happy retirement, and that all your dreams are fulfilled. May your soul fill up with joy until it pops over to the other side! See you there!
To all stumbling across this : Please stop using Irish culture to project your racist political opinions. Thank you. Thank you for uploading this, however. Unfortunately though, you've attracted some unsavoury characters : (
Traditionalist Western Art, I don’t want to sound like the crybaby snowflakes I despise so, but I’m part Celtic, and part Semite, and whose to say semites would dislike this? Unless of course this statement is a joke I’m just not taking very well...
Celt of Canaan Esurix I agree with you and no, I don't think he is joking. Look at his profile pic and name. He seems very western/Nordic/northern European centric so his idea of a joke is that semitic people further afield must somehow dislike it, which is b*llshit lol.
MisterMoa yeah, well I love both races, although honestly I know more about the celts and Europeans in general. I think Jews and Europeans should band together against their common threats rather than constantly screwing each other over
Celt of Canaan Esurix Most people are friends with eachother without needing to bring race into everything though. Uniting as a big racial band I think will make a mountain of a mole hill. Anyway, enough of that stuff, let us all enjoy this great music!
This is the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. thank you for sharing it

Gotta ask WTF this is like a mix of Celtic and American Indian fecking AWESOME
Donnie Don I don’t think it’s mixed with Amerindian influence, I’m pretty sure that they are just similar anyhow

Sure, I'd probably watch it ;)
Haha well.. :) they should
DERP Merp Would be great, but perhaps to controversial, and may spark violence in the north of Éire
Ciaran O' Neill Certainly.. :(

who are the five semites who disliked this

I'm sorry but the poem honestly looks like somebody smashed their face on their keyboard.
I imagine you must dislike the orthography of modern Irish even more....
