    First of all, this is one of my personal favourite songs-
    Amongst Latin, Anglo-Saxon, Middle-English, and Old-Norse, Old-Irish is another medieval/old language I study. This song is original music put to an Old Irish versepoem concerning the season of "Spring" (glossed here as 'Errach'). I have not sung my translation, but the original Old-Irish poem itself are the lyrics (yet I've know included my translation below the Irish here in the description for those interested). There are three other OI poems in similar metre on Winter, Autumn, and Summer I would like to turn into songs also someday. For those of you interested in the Old-Irish language, I will of course have the poem presented below in the description. Please leave your feedback, and be sure to visit the RUclips channel for more Hymir's Kettle music and subscribe if you enjoy ;) (All the pictures in this video remain property of their respectful owners and are only utilised here for enjoyment).
    Poem:
    Glass uar errach aigide,
    uacht ina gaith gignither,
    glaidsit lachain linnuisci,
    luind cendach corr cruadeigme
    Cluinit cuana a ndithrebaib
    fri h'eirge moch matanraid
    duscit eonu a hinnsenaib
    mor bfiad riasu bfirteititt -
    a fid, a feor glass..
    (Orig.Trans. - kept in orig.poetic form):
    Spring with a chill bite is borne,
    the breeze cast in whispers cool;
    the cry of ducks' held on high,
    and the hard tune of the crane's call.
    The cadence of hounds is heard
    as haled are morning's marches,
    moving to life all the land;
    it's light a glittering guide
    where glens and grass spring....

    You're welcome-and thank you ;) there are a lot more "hardcore" folk tunes out there, some ppl might call this song more of a 'folk-rock' for its heavy beat/rhythm.
    I grew up listening to metal,and in my mid-teens folk-metal groups served as a bridge for me to get into real folk music (believe it or not).Svartesot,Equilibrium,Cruachan,Crimfall,Arkona,Folkearth,Moonsorrow-and the thematic bands like Amon Amarth and Nile of course.Whilst Iron Maiden and Zepplin led me to those,those led me to folk

      My pleasure -- Roger Waters once said that the aim of true music is to move someone in empathy and emotion; if it cannot do that, then it has done nothing. I'm glad my music has reached you.. :)

    This, as with other songs of yours, bring out the best of that sublimely spectral subgenre of acid folk; and recall the favored lineage of Pentangle's first, Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore" and Heart's "Sylvan Song" / "Dream of the Archer". Although, in all sincerity I have to say, with each successive play, these inimitable pieces from Hymir's Kettle are seen to bear your distinctive mark, with the high compliment of progenitors past as mere incidentals.

    You may ask ;)
    Sometimes it depends; but it can be safely said the main instruments of Hymir's Kettle tend to be mandolin, Irish bouzouki, taiko drum, flute, and acoustic guitar.
    That's what makes the main sound. But sometimes I will bring in an oboe (like Battle of the Five Armies) or a didgeridoo for the background, mouth harp, etc.

    They should definitely make a movie like braveheart, but it's the irish rebellion in 1600 (osullivan a march). Or another story during William Wallace's time.

      well..... what if we changd the plot a little... ofcourse William Wallace wasnt about love.. but the movie braveheart said "lets make it a love story" . maybe we can describe the movie as a love story. so that violence wont stick with the audience after they saw theentire movie...

    I will say that personally, no I do not mind such a question. But first off I should say, that this RUclips channel (OdinIsMyGuide) which is laid out for Hymir's Kettle, is not meant to be a religious message/project or anything like that.
    I cannot say I'm a follower of any 1 person or thing.My heritage hails both celtic and norse-and I have found myself drawn to both. Thats as much as I can fit in a comment; I've studied theology for many years

    I haven't found a website for the group, to be sure about who's playing, but, after listening to several performances on the playlist, I'd say their music is heavily masculine and could benefit with balance, by some feminine influence.

      Traditionalist Western Art, I don’t want to sound like the crybaby snowflakes I despise so, but I’m part Celtic, and part Semite, and whose to say semites would dislike this? Unless of course this statement is a joke I’m just not taking very well...

    • @bluemooninn
      @bluemooninn 6 лет назад +6

      Celt of Canaan Esurix I agree with you and no, I don't think he is joking. Look at his profile pic and name. He seems very western/Nordic/northern European centric so his idea of a joke is that semitic people further afield must somehow dislike it, which is b*llshit lol.

    • @celtofcanaanesurix2245
      @celtofcanaanesurix2245 6 лет назад

      MisterMoa yeah, well I love both races, although honestly I know more about the celts and Europeans in general. I think Jews and Europeans should band together against their common threats rather than constantly screwing each other over

    • @bluemooninn
      @bluemooninn 6 лет назад

      Celt of Canaan Esurix Most people are friends with eachother without needing to bring race into everything though. Uniting as a big racial band I think will make a mountain of a mole hill. Anyway, enough of that stuff, let us all enjoy this great music!
