I stayed here for a night back in January of last year, absolutely recommend it. The place has a real charm and character to it. I stayed in a single room on the top floor which had a beam running across the length of it which stands about 6 feet off the floor. I stand at 6 foot 2 inches, and much to my expectations, I did manage to give myself a good crack over the head on the beam. Great local beers, friendly people, delicious food and, again, a really cool atmosphere. I came across from western Canada, where the oldest buildings are, at most, about 100-120 years old; so the historian in me was really geeking out over the fact that I was staying at an inn that was over 500 years old. It definitely gives off the vibe that it could have once been a discreet meeting place for pirates and smugglers.
Hi All. I've stayed at the blackboy inn. I've stayed in many hotels around the world and love this place. I had an incident, which was my own fault. I got outta bed, totally naked and what I thought was the bathroom door in the dark. I then realised I was in the hallway at 3am. I went down stairs, covering my love spuds with a local hand made cushion from a chair. Accessed their Internet and emailed a mate that was staying there.... (i wasn't sure of his number and knocking on the wrong door???? 😂😂😂). I waited til staff came in at 7am. I was totally embarrassed. I got access to my room. The guy was trying not to laugh, but we laughed then shortly afterwards. I got waves and hellos from staff the 2 days saying there. Had breakfast in a restaurant nearby and was greeted by their staff that heard the story.... At least I kept my apple bag off the security cameras.... As for my butt cheeks???? I couldn't find another cushion 😂😂😂😂
