Even when “The Google” asks routinely how I liked a restaurant or hotel even though I haven’t told it, it is quite creepy. Obviously, you can turn off location services, it is quite impractical to do so if you are using a lot of apps, related, for example, to weather. You can easily imagine how a bad person and good person could be on the scene of a crime, and the good person could be falsely accused or, at least, regarded as a person of interest. And then, the innocent person can never regain completely his/her innocence.
Be grateful that they are not tracking, connecting, inserting data into, recording data from, your brain. Memories are questionable, thoughts are questionable, dreams are inserted and no longer your own: totally compromised.
Oi, this boy is very pretty. See I do not say "handsome", I say pretty. His face is so pretty most women would be happy to look like him and I am sure most are envious of his beauty. And on top, he is very smart, absolutely well spoken, valiant, and fearless. So, this kid is a whole package! God bless him
Thanks Ronan. I've been noticing some suspicious synchronization of ads and conversations I've had since purchasing a Google Pixel phone. Doesn't the government require a search warrant monitor our phones?
Why can’t they make an app that can measure the amount of data that legitimately leaves your phone and any measure any other data that is transmitted/pulled off phone and reconcile and it should be detectable. Especially if you put the app on after infected. Has to be a way to measure legit data versus illegitimate data usage just like they meter you data usage. Unless the phone company are altering the records too
What I don't get is that I think of a song, do not audibly express in any way, yet that song shows up in my RUclips feed within hours. Anyone else experiencing this rather unsettling phenomenon?
It’s almost as if your interests are shared by others and generally predictable, especially by algorithms tracking what you watch/listen to. You sentiment is actually proof that they dont need to listen to audio to suggest relevant content. Also, there’s a bias to your personal (and my personal) experiences. Think of all the things it suggests that you have zero interest in. It’s just coincidence that it gets st right once in awhile.
RUclips is a consumer product and the algorithm is in place to guess what you like. If you have ever been in sales, you understand it's mostly about understanding what the customer wants and how to predict that to increase your sales.
Newer cars often have their own SIM card in them and so the tracking and surveillance is not limited to phones. Makes me want to walk with my phone wrapped in a faraday cage pouch
I got a new model car because the gas miles, only to discover that 'DCM' thing that keeps going off, sending my GPS data constantly to Toyota. The dealerships refuse to disable it, it void the warranty if I do (and its carefully placed so messing with it in any way will almost certainly tear a bunch of actually critical wires as well)... Ugh.
Doesn’t matter what you do if you’re within earshot of anyone else or any other of the countless surveillance cameras. You’ll be monitored on their devices!
This reminds me of that old Monty Python sketch, Confuse a Cat, where they build an elaborate theater and put on a play to confuse their cat. We should deliberately live to confuse our devices. Live to screw up their data. Delete the cow for the avocado down by the river who won't scuba software until the New York is especially mosaic.
This is chilling. Why can't everybody get a phone just for calls and text messages and then use an iPad without a phone for online stuff, if that's possible?? People could carry the two around with them but it would be safer.
Yes. Since I disabled access to my audio for all except apps that absolutely require access when being used, brand names and products that I say out loud no longer appear on my social media. Those mentioned on chat conversations however...
Why is this a surprise? Last year google asked me about my location services, They knew I'd been to the fruit store and Walmart that afternoon! They knew I'd been to Cedar Key three months before that! I was shocked at the record of my movements that they possessed! They asked if I wanted to keep receiving the service. I said "no", but that doesn't mean they don't have it...I just don't. Big brother's watching you, everywhere.
Happens in Denmark too. In all big cities young people are using this everywhere. Also criminals use it too. If they can find the signal from your smart phone, they can connect to it very easily
Never been so glad to be a nobody with a boring life as I am now. I don't have any "smart" appliances or TVs or anything except my phone & I rarely leave home anymore. If anyone surveilled me, they'd pass away from boredom. I'm old & poor, so they won't gain anything that way either.
Does your microphone and camera stay off when your phone is powered down? Is it wiser to have a lead box in the home for device/personal protection than just turning it off?

Even when “The Google” asks routinely how I liked a restaurant or hotel even though I haven’t told it, it is quite creepy. Obviously, you can turn off location services, it is quite impractical to do so if you are using a lot of apps, related, for example, to weather. You can easily imagine how a bad person and good person could be on the scene of a crime, and the good person could be falsely accused or, at least, regarded as a person of interest. And then, the innocent person can never regain completely his/her innocence.
I like Ronan, smart man. 🎉❤
Just into the first 2 mins, the list of nations abusing the technology - and Israel not on the list. It belongs on the top!
yeah, its the one MAKING the tech that allows for this shit.
Thank god I can only afford a flip phone!!
Any thing with speaker can become microphone
Be grateful that they are not tracking, connecting, inserting data into, recording data from, your brain. Memories are questionable, thoughts are questionable, dreams are inserted and no longer your own: totally compromised.
Elon's working on it
Oi, this boy is very pretty.
This is so sad and heartbreaking scary, it makes me want to move deep into the woods.😢
Unless the phone company are altering the records too
Good Idea!✨️⚖️✨️
Yeah! Paranoia not required!
It's not unreasonable to believe!
Of course it, from working in consumer finance right out of college in 2004 the first thing I realized was personal privacy was a thing of the past.
This so important for any citizen from any pplace, city country of the world. Our privacy is totally compromised.
Stalin would have loved this technology.
@5hirtandtieler
Exactly right!
RUclips is a consumer product and the algorithm is in place to guess what you like. If you have ever been in sales, you understand it's mostly about understanding what the customer wants and how to predict that to increase your sales.
Cellphones are the new cigarettes. Not necessary and bad for you.
They are good to have in an emergency. I use one while traveling, and hardly ever when at home.
Newer cars often have their own SIM card in them and so the tracking and surveillance is not limited to phones. Makes me want to walk with my phone wrapped in a faraday cage pouch
I experimented with wrapping aluminum foil around my phone 4 layers then called it and it didn't ring. Is that the same?
I got a new model car because the gas miles, only to discover that 'DCM' thing that keeps going off, sending my GPS data constantly to Toyota. The dealerships refuse to disable it, it void the warranty if I do (and its carefully placed so messing with it in any way will almost certainly tear a bunch of actually critical wires as well)... Ugh.
@@richardraymond9108 i think so. Aluminum is a metal and if you make the container seam less so to speak as you did you created a faraday cage
Doesn’t matter what you do if you’re within earshot of anyone else or any other of the countless surveillance cameras. You’ll be monitored on their devices!

Thank you for your work to make the public aware.
Thanks to Christiane, Michel and Ronan! 📱
Whoever hacks my phone will quickly regret it. When I'm alone, I enjoy singing.
Guess Snowden was right 💁🏼♀️
This is chilling.
Why can't everybody get a phone just for calls and text messages and then use an iPad without a phone for online stuff, if that's possible??
People could carry the two around with them but it would be safer.
Because we’re all mentally lazy, are easily misled, and attracted to moving pictures.
Ipads info is linked to your phone, it’s all one thing with different access devices- it’s you
Did anybody ever think they weren't spying on us.
I just assumed this was true.
Yes. Since I disabled access to my audio for all except apps that absolutely require access when being used, brand names and products that I say out loud no longer appear on my social media. Those mentioned on chat conversations however...
Yes, it began 20 years ago in 2001, and it is most likely indicated on your merchant terminal.
Great journalist, beautiful man
Yes, your phone is spying on you. I will just have to go back to very “dumb phone” after the start of the year.
Yes, they know more about me than i know about myself.
Ronan is so smart and incredibly good looking. Wow.
Never been so glad to be a nobody with a boring life as I am now. I don't have any "smart" appliances or TVs or anything except my phone & I rarely leave home anymore. If anyone surveilled me, they'd pass away from boredom. I'm old & poor, so they won't gain anything that way either.
I think often that the phone is also able to read my thoughts. Now thats super-Orwellian...
Ronan is on it!
How is this even a question? Of course it is, duh!
WOW!! It is simply scary...so much for transparency and democracy
Does your microphone and camera stay off when your phone is powered down? Is it wiser to have a lead box in the home for device/personal protection than just turning it off?
This happened to me by a scammer pretending to be an Amazon representative. I was hacked, hacked, hacked.
Yes. Our right to privacy is compromised. It’s like excessive search and seizure by police is against the law, even if you have “ nothing to hide”.
