If you don't think this clip is funny, remember that Brendon Small has a very dry, dark sense of humor. Think of how much time they spent making this scene, from the storyboard to drawing this; it's such a long, drawn-out scene that it becomes ridiculous, especially since they miss the drop zone completely. It's perfect.
So much of this. The attention to detail on the lighting the cig, the wildlife exploding, different mechanics of all those different weapons. Absolute perfection.
I can't say about modern warfare, but I do know that in most ww2 and some (somme, haha) ww1 battles, it started with heavy HEAVY artillery bombing before sending in the troops, but the enemy, being smart, made fortifications and just had to wait for the fireworks to stop before going into position and decimating the advancing soldiers (ex : battle of the Somme, Omaha beach, Peleliu, Iwo Jima...)

Actually WW1 reminds me of the bullet storms in The Matrix except there Neo can’t dodge the bullets and there is way more of them. It’s actually sad how truly ‘Metal’ World War 1 was. A lot of young men were slaughtered and mutilated for nothing really.

But if you land in a different hot zone than the one that was cleared out, wouldn’t that still be a problem? Maybe evacuation might be easier if they escape to the area that was cleared out maybe…

The funniest episode is the episode where they get labeled as racists and Toki gets excluded and left behind so he creates that club and makes the costumes. When they popped out in those klan outfits I literally laughed my ass off for a good 5 minutes straight. I'm not even sure what Toki says afterwards. It was hard to hear over my laughter. Not sure if he did it on purpose or if he was pissed off they left him behind again.
He says "AH, YA F*KIN LEFTS ME AGAIN!" They left Toki behind, again, for a concert for his own club. It's suspected the outfits were actually meant to look like Capirotes, which would make sense, given Toki's firm religious background.
It's a combination of several great pieces, the awful outfits, plus the burning lowercase t, plus Murderface with his hacked up mustache, it's a great example of setup and payoff, especially since several of these threads started in the opening scene.

The fact that the General and the 2 guys directly beside him were the only ones not shot, while fish and butterflies were picked out indicates they know the General is following them and they are simply allowing it to continue..
That was evolutions way of saying, you shouldn't have spent the last few million years being lazy you should've been finding ways to outrun bullets instead.
Dude the reload just every thing in this scene is perfect. Starting from the start where they come in blastin for an awkward amount of time.(If they dropped the boat after that then it would've been funny.) But to reload and do it again for an awkward amount of time. And then miss the landing. Perfect. (And the joy on that gunners face and a Suttle knee scratch and continue blastin mmmetal
Well look at it this way: If you were an hostile you'd assume the boat was going to land in the cleared area, so you'd prepare to fire in that point... only to trow you off by landing somewhere else.
