About Metalocalypse: Dethklok
Metalocalypse is Adult Swim's blackest, most brutal comedy. Coming straight to your face from Brendon Small (Home Movies) and Tommy Blacha, it centers around the band Dethklok, a global metal sensation with enormous economic power and social influence. Dethklok includes Nathan Explosion on vocals, Skwisgaar Skwigelf on lead guitar, Toki Wartooth on rhythm guitar, William Murderface on bass, and Pickles the Drummer as...himself. Unfortunately, these guys are more interested in boozing, doing drugs, and causing mass destruction than in putting out new albums. Their careless attitudes cause band manager Charles Ofdensen almost constant strife as he tries to salvage Dethklok's public image and protect them from a mysterious organization known as The Tribunal. I was partying at a buddies house when the pilot episode of Metalocalypse came on. When the stage missed its target and landed on the fans, then opened up crushing more of the fans I laughed my ass off, Then the single most metal coffee jingle I ever heard assaulted my ears and I was an instant fan.

Honestly I completely wrote off metalocolypse as a kid cause I thought it was gonna be a stupid bullshit show ... Goddamn was I wrong and missed so much good music my favorite moment isn't even from the original series if I remember correctly but it will always be toki auditioning and surprising everyone in the band that he can keep up with skquizgarr (I can't fuckin spell it lol) even murder face was surprised

I always love the way the chords are in all of Dethklok's songs. Brendon Small is ridiculously talented. He could've easily just stuck to the most basic progressions but he poured all of his skills into truly making the best, most beautifully brutal music to grace the human (and piscine) ear.
This song is one of my most favorites outside of deth-harmonic just because the cords are all so smooth and beautiful I still today can’t stop listening to any of their music and now I get to hopefully see them twice this year at blue ridge and their tour

The sad part, is that in brendon's later career he started to fall into this trap pretty badly.
Musically it would be very apparent, but lyrically he was trying hard to stay true to what he was known for/good at.
And Adult Swim stole it all from him and refuses to finish his show. ☹️

Now that the story is complete, this song is absolutely the most relevant to he whole of the Metalacolypse narrative.
So damned good. You could always sense Brendon's love of music in how he wove it into the series Home Movies via the headbanger character. With Metalocalypse he achieved an outlet for both of his passions. Incredibly, it is a great show and great music. Small's guitar style makes for awesome metal. When the albums started releasing and the Metalocalypse tours began you couldn't help but to be happy to see such a gifted person get to truly live their dream.
The fact that this is being posted now is, in the immortal words of Nathan Explosion... "Metal"

It's not really by himself. He has other bandmates that help write and record the albums, and an army of animaters and voice actors that help make the show.
I got to see Dethklok live last sunday and damn will this song be burned into my mind for the rest of my life. This was exaclt hoenit sounded live like it was strsight plucked from the show.

the truth is, as dumb as the show makes the lyrics and the band seem, the lyrics of the songs are not that far off from reality of the metal genre in general. it may seem like a parody, but the only parody is the cartoon, the music is solid

Dethklok fan since 2010. I've been a Metalhead for 13 years, and Dethklok is one of the first bands that got me into Metal.
Recommend Sepultura's early stuff, Roots, Chaos AD, Arise.
