I grew up listening to rock, and although I'd owned a couple of hip hop records before this, such as Illmatic, and The Slim Shady LP, this was the first hip hop record I would listen to on repeat, about age 18. And this was one of my favourites on the album. Interesting breakdown too. Lot of the lines, especially concerning ICP, had always gone over my head.
Re: ICP beef I happened to be at an event they came to while this beef was hot & they happened to next to me. But when Forgot About Dre started playing they got hyped and sang it word for word. It always made me wonder how real that beef actually was.
