It seems that whenever I watch any music video featuring a woman who is singing, it's always compared to Lady Gaga. I knew about Girl Next Door long before I'd ever heard of Lady Gaga, anyway. For me, GIRL NEXT DOOR is better than lady gaga, she is original and the music, the words, her voice are beautiful. I think that this group could become international and be met by more people

FYI i've lived in and worked in Asia as well and i'm speaking of all this from experience as media artist. you're right, the branding is a problem. but vocal talent has nothing to do with what you were saying earlier about upholding an image.

@youOkazakitube Just my thoughts on why Japanese artists don't venture outside of Japan and that is because they don't need to since in Japan they earn roughly what their western counterparts make. In Korea the artists, especially the large boy/girl groups, are basically owned by their managment company, a throw back to the old U.S. movie studio/Motown model from the 1950's & '60's where the artist was paid a flat salary despite their popularity or revenue generated...and did as they were told.
@hhjj0120 yeah. if you havent noticed, most asian artists focus more on the "artistic" aspects of their media than the actually vocal talent. it's a sad truth, but i think their talent with the camera more than makes up for it. you gotta admit, Hollywood is pretty cliche and predictable these days. when they're not, it's usually just when something bad is happening.
@TikiTubeable oh, ok. i'll admit i'm more familiar with Japanese artists so im not gonna pretend i know alot about Korean idols. in Japan they have quite a few good singers, but there's so many groups that rely solely on autotone and special effects. some groups like Perfume are even KNOWN to lip-sync during live performances and they're still popular, mainly because people focus more on the dance, i guess. that's all i was getting at. alot of asians seem to focus on "creativity" not talent.
what is the big relation with alejandro? it is true that Madonna released player years ago and gagagoa released this after years... the dancing mouvements of bad romance is the worst copy of "can't get on your head". I have to say that a militar dancing with true militars is better than see boys with strings and boots of militar dancing as if they were to put an orgy with a gagagoa that is only bones. Girl Next Door is being copied by much artists, gagaoa can't be copied because she is the copy

座っている時に着ている衣装ぐらいにしておけば良かったのにね。
あと、振り付け通り踊るのも良いけど、自分なりのアレンジを加えても良かったかもね。
踊らされてる感がむき出しで観ていてつまんない。
