"Greatest joy, sitting on the couch and playing what you like". Absolutely true!
Yes! 🎸🎸🎸
We all start learning guitar so we can play for people but end up becoming super guitar introverts and only playing for ourselves 😂
Ain’t that the truth. Self therapy is what it becomes
I started with metal and ended up with bluegrass. Def only for me. Bluegrass is not popular in NJ lol
I love playing even if no one’s around
I agree other people are crap
So get out on the street and play. I made $26 last weekend doing the same thing I can at home.
Great lesson. Its how I started almost 50 years ago, sitting on the couch figuring out TV and Movie songs by ear. There was no RUclips haha.
That's awesome! What a journey man! Cheers!
Imagine if we had RUclips back in the day! I spent my time dropping the needle on records in my parents' basement. Over and over and over again until i started figuring things out.
Well done sir! Yes, it is the simple, melodic things I do on the guitar that makes me happy. Have a wonderful day Tony!☮
Thank you! Wishing you a wonderful day as well!
Your guitar has a lovely tone .great lesson as always 🎉
Glad you like it! Thank you! 🙌🏻
W0W! To me, that sounds like magic flying off your fretboard! Thank you for sharing.
I'm gonna try this when I get home! This guy is so awesome
Wonderful! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and listen, my friend!
Fantastic! Have fun!
Tony, viewing from a very warm Perth, Western Australia. Thanks for another great lesson from an old Irish Folksinger! Happy Christmas!
Greetings! So glad you enjoyed the lesson mate! happy to share it! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas as well! 🎄🎸
This chord progressions are similiar to Allman Bros "Mellissa" and George Harrison's "All Things must pass"
first one reminded me of "who knows where the time goes" by fairport
Beautiful song. RIP Sandy Denny.
Just subscribed and love the video. Using open chord shapes up and down the neck was something I was never taught during my guitar lessons decades ago, unless used for barre chords. Really beautiful sounds.
That's awesome! Thanks for the sub! 🙌🏻😀
Jam up! love it. simple like life should be.
Love that! Thank you!
Really like this. Giving it a go, as I'm at that 'ok, I know a couple of chords, what the hell do I learn now?' stage. 😂
That's awesome! You've got this! 😄
hahaha this is Paul Kelly's great song "Making Gravy" ! Good stuff ;)
Nice. Thanks again
You're very welcome! Glad you had fun!!
Hi Tony , Love your work , Thanks and have a Great Xmas/ New Year , old folkie in Blue Mountains, Sydney Australia 😊😊
Hello, my friend! Really appreciate your kind words! Thank you very much!! Happy Holidays! 😊🎄🎶
Perhaps a little something to enhance, that creative expression on the couch there. 😁
Bravo! Seeing the shapes really helps! Thank you
You're very welcome, man!

Beautiful, and actually I understand this, 😂
Glad it make sense, my friend! 😂 Keep up the awesome work!
Great lesson, again.
Hey, what is that guitar you are playing?
It’s an Martin OMJM (John Mayer sig)
@ thank you. Not sure it would sound that good in my hands but it is wonderful.
Sweet Mellissa?
👍
Are you hitting the top thick E string as well in those chords
You certainly can on the e shaped chords.
Just picked up my guitar for the first time in ages . Think I've got arthritis at bottom of my right fucking thumb .Cheers .
I’m sorry to hear about your thumb, that can be tough. Wishing you the best, my friend!
Almost every song from Kings of Leon's first two albums
Is it me or do you have extremely long index fingers.. ?
I thought the same thing!
Unfortunately, as a beginner your lessons are too advanced for me.
You only need to know basic chords to do this . That’s on you , of course not the teacher . He can’t know your ability . 2:41
Even if you haven’t ever picked up a guitar you could learn these basic chords within a few hours ..
If you keep at it, you'll get there in no time!
