Thank you very much for spending the time showing us around, it was a great day, one we'll definitely never forget ! I will send a link to the videos once we get back to NZ and they're all edited.
Hey Mark. It was nice to meet these rail fans from NZ and Brazil. Enjoyed all those trains. And that restored caboose was really awesome. Cool video. Thanks 👍❤️
Merry Christmas Mark. I'm on call today, Christmas day , and have been to a level /grade crossing fault already at 7 am! Back home for breakfast so catching up on some videos. Silky smooth hook up 22:00...! He's done that before! Thanks for posting. Stay safe and cheers. Gregg
Stemson lumber Co is in Oregon and Idaho I believe. Thanks for all your videos and taking people out there to see the trains. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Nice variety of trains-thanks for taking us. The growing problem of stealing from containers is definitely impacting rail fanning. Hopefully the recent changes in California laws, with greater penalties, will deter some of this activity. Ultimately the railroad will have to invest in private security patrols as BNSF has on Cajon. BNSF train comments: The first intermodal, with CP and KCS power, is now common place since the CPKC merger. CPKC intentionally pairs these pre-merger brands even on power exchanges. BNSF train symbol would have been Q CHISTO (westbound) or Q STOCHI (eastbound). The “empty pig train” would have a symbol beginning with a “B” for baretable.😅
Thanks for the video Mark. I was saddened to see the blockages near the tracks. Some of the sites are questionable. I fail to see how the top of tunnel 2 benefited the thieves. It also provides access for the signal dept. and landowner. Like you I love to speculate and think it was probably the loads of trash that caused them to close it off.
Excellent video as always Mark. Technical Tallow is used for a variety of purposes. The "technical" describes the way its made and what animal it comes from, in this case cows. I believe its the tallow that can be used in items fit for human consumption. Maybe someone can provide more details.
Simpson investment corporation is based in Seattle Washington and specializes in lumber from the Pacific Northwest, They used to have 2 lumber mills in Shelton but sold out to Sierra Pacific Industries in Nothern California.
Hey Mark Love your videos I wanted to ask you about the train derailment that killed the UP Crews in Texas do you think you can make a video of that and give your Opinion and if you see a kcs or cp engine we call them CPKC due to kcs and cp merging back in april of 2023
The problem with drones with their own screen is the same as with your phone. You can't see it in bright light. Get ne with the VR headset and it cuts out all the light that detracts from the picture. You see exactly what the drone does.
It's not about being able to see it, it's about having the phone tied up at the same time. I can hover a drone, and shoot video and stills at the same time, AND my phone won't accidentally op out of the controller!

UP has hired Pinkerton Security on a six month contract to patrol the highest incidence areas between Bakersfield and Tehachapi

How did the Kiwi subscribers get to Tehachapi?
Planes, trains, and automobiles! We had been in contact for some time and this was a planned trip.
Come to Washington state and railfan the Columbia river gorge.
It's on the list!
