Fascinating to see the Barton Hill of my teens including some recognised faces, Stephen Hall and Barrie Short in particular. Couldn’t get out of my Street -Lincoln Street - without going over a railway bridge. Ducie Rd, Days Rd, Barrow Rd, Church Rd……lots of ‘bomb sites’ and of course the demolition sites, including mine as we were moved out to Brislington. New flats going up fast. Barton House first. First 15 storey one outside London I think. Remember going up to the top when first opened. Then St Luke’s Church lost its little spire at the top. Too dangerous they said. Strange to recall I had to unlock the Church for my own wedding there in 1970!

Very interesting video although so depressing to see the Victorian terraced houses that would have mostly now have been restored and sought after being torn down for tower blocks. Does anyone know if Shaun Britton is on this film as I was friends with him years ago and he once told me he was in a film of this name.

I imagine that Shaun would have been a tad young. My brother was born in 1960 and he would have been a similar age.

No 'errs, ums' and these were the 'uneducated' of the day.
