Hi Brian, my Outlook has failed since before Christmas 2021. Your tutorial above was manna from heaven. It took me some time as my system did not have quite the same as yours but I opened folders and had a look and eventually I got to the right path and found the tool. I followed your advice and at first it took nearly 30 mins to go through. I got the "Repaired" notification but I had seen another similar video to yours (which was not quite so straight forward) and he recommended running the scan 2, 3 or even 4 times. I ran a second scan and sure enough errors were found again. I repeated this 4 more times until the last two said "repaired" each time. The scans were getting much faster each time. Then, fingers crossed, I started Outlook and this time it opened as smooth as silk! Thank you so much. This particularly good because I am to PC tech what Herod was to mothercare! I now have to wade through 180 emails that poured in! Cheap at the price. Thank you again.

Inbox repair tool always works in minor corruption issues of Outlook Data file. But if its Outlook PST is highly damaged then only third party tools are the options to repair them.

Thank you. Fixed the problem on my old Vista back-up computer. The browse feature of the .pst repair program couldn't find the outlook.pst file, so I had to manually enter it. Time to archive the inbox onto another drive.

problem! when I got to the pst file, when I tried to open it it didn't transfer the path to the small box - it just showed it as a download. I can't understand this. I'm on outlook 2007 and everything is the same until I get to this point. I also don't quite understand what is meant by the 'typo error' and what that is supposed to mean. All a bit confusing.

thanks for this video. running the scanpst.exe worked for me. a custom folder containing almost all of my emails has reappeared!
