Hi Mark wrong plastic first up or not your one of my childhood fishing legends along with bill h and Graham s thanks for your dedication and inspiration to nz anglers !! Thanks mate
Another little tip for anyone new watching this video. Buy some bait cotton if you use ZMan soft plastics. They are super durable but also super elastic so tend to slide down the shank of a jighead when your working them hard or getting grabbed at the tail. Chuck ~10 loops of bait cotton or even tie some mono at the 'bait keeper' section to really squish the head into the lead teeth and youl never have those issues again
Jeeesus, I fish 1/2 to 3/4 Oz jigheads in ~40m. With a sea anchor deployed you have plenty of sink time, fish aren't spooked by the boat so much so you can continue fishing vertically and even behind the boat, and your zman gets better action imo. Once you get used to it you can strip a bunch of braid off your reel and stop so that you are in contact with the lure for the last say 15m of the drop, while still getting to the bottom well ahead of the boat

Soft baiting fishing is gold. No more sticky, stinky, smelly bait.

Creating a greater impact when the soft bait hits the water is going help draw attention to the bait as it sinks. 👍😎
Great video enjoying them all! But damn that boat is loud!
