Just shows how people’s tastes vary. That bacon is just how I like it. The eggs too. I worked 10 years of my adult life in a kitchen and scabby bottoms are due to cooking at too high a temperature not a mucky griddle/pan mate.
Hi Deano, the price was good that's about all you can say. Everything was overcooked, about the eggs if you have a very hot frying pan when you put them in they go like that. I don't mind them like that because the yolk was runny. I don't think you will be going back there. I forgot to say the beans were deceiving in the ramekin
Wetherspoons i used to go to it was only £3 for ham eggs and chips and a free soft drink with that , so i am sad they closed when the pandemic started in 2020
As a former chef of 15 yrs the bacon was definitely deep-fried (the brown rind and fat were giveaways) and you're right, likely reheated from the previous day.
If the pan is too hot that's what gives you that crispy egg bottom - which I also hate! That bacon, well it was somewhere between jerky and leather - absolutely dreadful!
What you got was deep-fried bacon deep fried mushrooms deep-fried sausage deep-fried hashbrowns but I don’t think the eggs was cooked in a dirty pan just a pan with very hot oil 😊
If you don't like browning on your eggs, wouldn't you just prefer poached? It's the heat that does it, and poaching is obviously a much lower temperature.
A good Breakfast now costs a Tenner,so the Breakies in Yates are cheap and cheerful which is reflected in the price,I've had a few Breakies in there and I've no complaints about them, you get what you pay for
The whole thing looks deep fried & the oil far too hot. Eggs look like paper doilies, cracked & into the oil, bacon, sausages, bacon & the rest. Hash browns have got that 'oil too hot' marks on its edges. Bad breakfast. The tea looked like pi55 water, you'd need paramedics to get life out of that teabag. £5 or £1 for a breakfast, they set the prices - up to them to set the quality & people will vote with there feet. And... it was hardly 'standing room only'. Wouldn't be surprised if there was no breakfast chef, in Yates's quest to cut costing, I bet the person setting up the bar, sorting deliveries, cleaning the lines, sorting out admin on sales making paperwork endless will 'sort' breakfast out - attitude of 'how simple can it be?'. It shows slap dash attitude by middle management. Think you were generous with a 6.5 - I bet there is a cafe in Halifax that can produce a breakfast as good as the Blackpool fry up. Yates's advertise themselves (they don't realise) as a pub chain on its last legs. Budget food available but when things are tight you want to feel like you are getting a bargain, so you come back. Great vlog Deano, your honesty is well received, it's constructive. Halifax Yates's is a BIG NO from me.
Hash browns look overdone. The eggs have been fried at a very high heat, kind of like they cook them in Asia. Not a big fan of that style of cooking, at least not for western or English food. The sausage is a cheap sausage well cooked. Mushrooms nuked. Bacon nuked. Beans in a ramekin ain't really a problem for me and i think the restuarants do it because people are fussy of what their beans might be toching on the plate. Not great overall but at least you're safe in the knowledge none of it was undercooked.

That’s like something I’d expect from a canteen at work
Those eggs are exactly how I like them. I love the crispy edges.
Please leave 😂
No, seriously...
Me too
Really appreciate the details , love a full English mate
Eggs&bacon looked perfect to me.

Eggs should be poached in butter
Yes but they were fried
@@SandraDent-lf4xy yes i know, that was my point. They were fried in fat which was too hot. As I said previously, eggs should be poached in butter.
I call those eggs frilly eggs and I love them.
Wetherspoons i used to go to it was only £3 for ham eggs and chips and a free soft drink with that , so i am sad they closed when the pandemic started in 2020
Everything on that plate was chucked in the deep fat death! Hahaha
I love my fried egg's like this. I always ask for a 'burnt bum ' but really get it cooked right..
The bacon looks fab omg no to that egg sausages ok beans so little can't beat a Irish breakfast ❤
I wonder if you could ask for poached eggs and everything else grilled?
Try the Calder pub in brighouse for a spoons Yates comparison
Didn't even know they did food, usually when i'm in there its midnight on a Saturday haha
Looking forward to you going tobys.
Looks far better than Spoons. Gone off them big style. Quality gone down hill big style
My sentiments exactly on the eggs , crusty = salty = manky griddle plate. When the only thing the get right is the tea & toast Mmm ! M
Its too much heat that does that to the eggs.
Nowt to do with the griddle, besides it being very hot.
Deano, I think your mixing tea up with hot milk.😀
As a former chef of 15 yrs the bacon was definitely deep-fried (the brown rind and fat were giveaways) and you're right, likely reheated from the previous day.
Only seen thr thumbnail... but those crispy eggs are giving me

The whole crispy egg thing is quite popular in certain countries and cultures, especially East Asia. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a bad thing
I'm like you with eggs and that bacon looked to well done
What you got was deep-fried bacon deep fried mushrooms deep-fried sausage deep-fried hashbrowns but I don’t think the eggs was cooked in a dirty pan just a pan with very hot oil 😊
As soon as I saw that breakfast I thought it looked terrible Deano. I think you have a generous score but you took the cost into context…. Smithy

I need tin tomatoes on my breakfast like Toby carvery do
👍👍👌
🥓🍳What's happening people! 🍳🥓
Perfectly cooked eggs there 😂
Hi we have one of these in Bolton and the food is not bad for the price
Love well done cold toast then buttered
The last time i went to a Yates it was full of people who bat for the other side so i drank up and left
The Indian national cricket team?
This one ticks off all the boxes. It does that, at least
I would of sent it back mate

It did not look the best! Thank you for the video.
It's cheap for a reason.
That looks proper yum
Woodrows breakfast with black pudding i get always decent.

Tea a bit weak looks ok nothing special but for the price its value
I'd have sent it bk it looked shit.

Halifax Yates's is a BIG NO from me.
Cheap as chips (yesterdays chips lol)
My lodger likes his eggs cooked like that crispy on the bottom 😋
Okay, this video is DEFINITELY (at least) 15yrs old!!
First Yates, now lodgers are still a thing?!?!
😂😂
Sad thing is that the ingredients were fine but the cooking was awful.
Definitely better👍
It's a no from me. 😢
Cracking eggs, just how I love them
Prices do not look to bad looked at there website👍👍😊😊
Looks like it's gone down hill not been out for the past 3. 6 years don't look like I'm missing out 😂😂😂😂
Sorry Hun but that breakfast looked awful.. Them eggs omg 😮
Someone needs to go back and retrain because that breakfast was overcooked, no wonder it was empty in there.
Can you kindly not be slapping your pork on a ......Sunday day of our lord 😂
If i had paid a tenner for that i would be annoyed but at £5.99 it's half decent and fills a hole!
@johnnycaruthers7180 😂
