This 5 pack of anti-static (ESD) wrist straps is basic, but gets the job done. I verified that the alligator clip is connected to the metal plate held against your wrist, and that the elastic band has conductive thread that is also connected to the alligator clip. The resistance between the clip and the band is in the 0.9 mega-ohm range, so should stop dangerous levels of current, but will quickly bleed off high voltage (static) that your body may build up.
The alligator clip has a banana jack plug and you can detach it and plug the cable directly into a banana jack if you have a grounded one on your power supply.
At this low price point, I wouldn't expect it to last a lifetime. The elastic will probably break down over a few years, and the plastic insulation on the wire looks shiny and hard, so it may also start to break down with use. But at this low price, it would be useful in a shared lab situation where you expect them to get lost before they break down.
