    As a Millia player, I agree that many Millias play like animals. But that's to her detriment, not her strengths; she's not a character with good risk-reward for hyper aggression. It's satisfying shutting down a fake af Millia, but whiners who don't know how to fight her can hold all of that.

    Imo, Walter thinks way too small when it comes to what Arksys should give Millia to compensate for the Kapel nerf. Sure, the slight buff to HS would be nice. But Potemkin got armour on all of his special moves (except for maybe Heat Knuckle), Goldlewis gets to chain Behemoth Typhoons, Chip gets to run upside-down on a tightrope, Nagoryuki gets to continue his combo AFTER blood rage, etc. Everyone got stuff that's powerful, and fun to use. HS just isn't enough. Millia's been the same since the beta. I want something big for her that would be in line with what Arksys said was Millia's biggest strength in the patch notes "high degree of aerial freedom and these changes are meant to promote that strength"... just before they nerfed one of her high degree of aerial freedom tools.
    I want to see Lust Shaker and Tandem Top (S and H versions) both be usable in the air. More aerial special moves opens up all sorts of options for Millia in terms of combos. And doing Lust Shaker in the air would just look badass. Like Chun Li doing Lightning Kicks in the air. If Street Fighter 6, a game with no air dash, or air blocking, can give Chun Li air Lighting Kicks, why in the hell can't this ungaa bungaa game Strive give Millia air Lust Shaker???
    I'd also like to see Winger become a single hit, cinematic super. That would give the move more damage (since singe hit supers have less damage scaling), while also drastically lowering the amount of burst and tension it awards your opponent for being hit by it. It would actually make one of Millia's supers good.
    Strive has been out for like 4 years almost. I'm tired of Millia pushing the struggle bus uphill all this time. I want some big changes that brings some fun, new, powerful options into her arsenal that don't just rely on 2K > 2D looping for like 6 damage, while my opponent just gets bored of watching me do double or triple cross-ups for 25 seconds straight, before he finally gets to 1-touch my ass all the way back to Street Fighter 6. Just my 2 cents.

      I dunno why nobody has ever mentioned millia not being able to do more of her specials in the air. I love that idea lol. you're right, they flat out said her strength is in the air. So let Millia do more damaging specials in the air. I'd love to have more combo options when I take to the sky.

      ? What do you mean 'maybe' heat knuckle? There is no maybe. Heat knuckle, Garuda, megafist and fdb don't have armor. The only moves with armor are slide head, heat tackle, hammerfall, hammerfall break and pot buster (which yes is wild, I'm not contesting that). I'm just confused why you would say something so blatantly incorrect?

      @@oatmeal5672 You just reminded me, FDB doesn't have armour... they gave it FULL STRIKE/THROW INVINCIBILITY instead! Yeah, like 3 out of his 8 specials don't have armour/full invincibility... I wasn't thinking in terms of what Potemkin doesn't have, while typing that. But you get the overall point, right? They buffed the crap out of these characters with stuff that's powerful and/or fun to use. Millia is basically the tomato that was squashed and told to ketchup.

    When it comes to discussing the meta and detailed information on characters, this is hands down the best GGST channel now. Keep up the amazing work. I know you did discuss him but I'd love to hear Zando talk about the current state of Asuka and if he's truly given up on the character for tournament. He was my favorite player to watch at the tournament level.

    I really think millia needs some sort of mechanical or new move buff that complements her potential in the air since she like a bird and has wings and claws. Maybe like a command jump out of mizarh so it can be used as a faint for S disc or H disc but has faster recovery, making it good for faster and further cross ups or overheads. If not that, then maybe an air back dive move that launches her diagonally back, so she can reposition even more from the air or they can just just let millia be able to aim turbo fall further down or forward.

    its sad to me. even with all of Millia's problems i can overlook them for love of the character. what i cant overlook is playing a character like this with so many issues AND getting hate for it when other characters are doing the same thing with actual damage it's just exhausting. her being bad and being hated for playing her is what drove me off if Strive completely.

    About the Vega post, I agree that it's not fair for characters to get punished because people didn't lab the MU, I think it's ASW's oversight on the fact that your standard casual player isn't going to lab even layer two mix of a character that they have no interest in playing. This is why replay takeover should be a necessity, pro tourney players will mostly take the time to lab, at that level, it's basic logic, but once again, casual players aren't too keen on learning how to use a completely different character that they don't even want to touch normally.

      If you talking about Konebani, they're a poser. Saw an old comment of them on a walter match before Konakonizumi's disappearance and it's a totally genuine comment making fun of "waltuh". Guess they forgot to delete it.
      I doubt they're actually as invested as the real konakon.

    It would be cool if Millia could hold Capel to make it slower but to make it launch. Like only for 20 frames, more or less. Ontop of that, maybe give her the ability to hold up or down after the move to determine the angle of the jump afterwards. That would be fun

    Millia probably got hit the hardest due to Kapel nerf but honestly pretty much all setplay chars with incredible mix but low damage were already not at their best in previous patch and it just kinda got worse. Bridget having to hit potemkin with mix 10x or more during a round while he gets a buster with 100% meter and ends the match right there sure is a little frustrating. The moment they made all the burst changes in S3 I think is when they steered the balance so much towards high dmg and high hp chars and we're still feeling the effects lmao
    I just wanna see them give the setplay chars a little more damage to help compete and give them back some of the snowballing potential cause that was by far the one incredible thing they all had going before WA HKD got removed, which was a good and healthy change but it did skew the meta even more towards high dmg. Maybe just straight up gut the meter build for low damage, giving chars like Gld, Pot, sometimes even Sol, May, etc. like 2 to 3 chances to burst every round feels awful when you need to hit them so much but a singular hit from them and you might just have lost the match

    Millia is the definition of powercrept. She still has her identity as a high mobility mix up setplay char but with characters like pot being given neutral skips after neutral skips and goldlewis being a slow character not being his weakness at all it makes her underwhelming.
    But i still have hope for millia and i just started playing her to compensate for zoning mus for aba and shes reaaallly fun.
    Just have the mindset of"be good enough to be untouchable" and trust me you'll find this character soo fun. Still looking forward for buffs😭

    Hear me out, mirazh but instead of mid to high invul, only low invul so you have 2 high risk options depending if you know the gattling or if you condition/ forsee right
    -ie just realised you do the same with IAD

      @@DomiWurld ah, shame. if you plan on doing this with every character, you could maybe go asking around in the sol discord (similar to your videos asking about people's thoughts on s4). i think some people who don't play sol may have some misconceptions about why the playerbase has felt so torn.

    Not being ready for every knowledge check is certainly reasonable, but realistically people have been beating millia for years while playing against her in the same way people who don't know pierce has a mashable gap play against zato. Then they have the audacity to play like that (and win) and say she's crazy afterwards while they did literally 0 counterplay.
    And then Arcsys balances the character around those people and make decisions based on whining on twitter - kapel was absolutely the move to nerf if you had to nerf any of her moves, but its truly wild to nerf it without an entire laundry list of buffs at least as long as the one Baiken got in 4.0.
    Walter also didn't touch on it all that much but, not only is the combo worse on hit and not really mix but in many situations it will flat out just not combo. Sometimes it can even be punished on hit, especially in the corner if you do turbofall kapel which reeks of not being tested. The nerf was in fact not done well. Even if one were to grant kapel needing a nerf in a game where nago beyblade is a low...which is honestly a dubious claim.
    Her best move certainly, but it didn't even make most people's top 10 list of special moves and had a lot of counterplay people just refused to learn.
    The issue this character always had is that if you know vs don't know the difference is so huge in how you experience fighting her that it creates weird balancing incentives similiarly to zato or asuka and so on where they largely balance the characters seemingly around people who don't know how to fight them which makes playing them into the people that know the counterplay really rough since they're balanced around people who don't.
    Now she not only has really huge system flaws. Low hp, donating huge amounts of burst and meter on hit, or buttons not connecting on hit like walter mentioned with 5h and so on.
    But there really isn't any particularingly good way for her to make up for them - especially not if someone bothers learning to fuzzyjump non meaty disc, hold f.d and ds os on meaty disc. She isn't dysfunctional but it certainly is very uphill to play her, which feels really unfair considering she's in theory one of the more complex and deep characters both in learning how to play, and in learning how to fight.
    But in her current version you can kinda just slam 6p or any low profile do 2 option selects and risk reward her - and you dont ever really have to be scared of losing from any looping oki because you can just ds os. And even if you get hit despite that you will get the resources to do it at least 3-4 times every single round - because millia very generous and will gladly hand it to you by hitting you.
    There's probably a reason everyone who learnt how to fight her well think very poorly of her, and that people who don't lowkey always try to imply she's downplayed. The people who actually know like tene or digblig pretty universally say she's weak even when they don't main her and got no incentive to downplay . But people who you watch play against her one set and it's obvious they don't even know how she functions whine about fictional downplayers because of one crazy youtube comment troll all while having literally 0 mu knowledge.
    Make it make sense.

      That's the number 1 problem I have with Strive as a whole. "balancing" seems to be exclusively based on pro players whining on X. And the game balance is terrible. If you aren't a high damage and high health character, then you're fighting at a big disadvantage.

    Can anyone explain what "skill expression" means, please? I've heard so many times applied mostly to, like, Potemkin and Sol combo routes and it's 100% wrong for Sol at least, as he still has his hard-er combos like 6H into 6S into smthing, he also still has kara grab which is one of the hardest kara cansels in the game. Pot players, meanwhile, can't stop crying over a broken mechanic (for a grappler) that was applied like a bandaid for an empty and soulles version of xrd Pot and ever since he got buffs it was utterly redundant to his whole character and only made fighting him unbearable. Also, like, we're talking about Strive, there was no "skill expression" in that regard to begin with, so why all the crying now? Don't get me wrong, I despise S4 patch (mostly for making GL, Elphelt and Johnny mind numbingly easy AND broken at the same time, actually broke Ram and reworked + nerfed Anji AGAIN) but of all the things I just can't agree with this one. Also grapplers' tears and reee's are music to my ears

      skill expression is basically how much player skill can be shown thru the character. This kinda relates to playstyle as well. For Potemkin in season 4 lost all his skill expression due to them dumbing him down to make him more accessible to other players. If your character is wrapped around ONE move that is very broken but easy to use then the skill expression on that character is prob low. There's other ways to look at it but yea

But still Potemkin has a very difficult-to-master kit (in pretty much all the GG games) that allows him to do things like slide prc buster, or fast cancelling slide into both supers (I still have no idea how they do it). In all seriousness, losing kara cancels kind of sucks for pot mains and I would personally solve it with allowing kara pb and garuda to stay but as a riskier option like not being able to RC them, similar to dp's or Baiken's parry. But still, being able to grab from almost full screen is absurd imo

      You are actually right about wondering why people cry about nerfing skill expression in a gamew like Strive.
      The reason you have so much public outcry now is the newcomers to Guilty Gear with Strive now actually know how it feels to get fun tools taken away and your favourite character getting more linear whereas previously A LOT of them dismissed the discontent of legacy GG players with "these mechanics were just gatekeeping new people. You should actually be happy more players can enjoy your game. Stop being an elitist."
      I'm actually still baffled by the irony and lack of self awareness of many people with this situation.

      it means being able to do combos in various ways. if you have combo but it can only be done from one specific move, or if there is only 1 combo route that works then thats a lack of skill expression. basically doing many things in many ways is good, doing one thing in only one way is bad.

    Millia players are weird because they are fully aware they're playing a completely degenerate character that everybody else despises and yet they insist they and their character should be treated as fairly, if not more than the rest of the cast

      It's guilty gear, every character is degenerate. Millia has been a bad character since the release of the game, yes she's moved up to mid tier at best for a while but always gets shot shortly after. You sound like someone who hasn't actually spent time learning the matchup and instead you're just whining because you don't like getting mixed on repeat.

      They should be treated as fairly as the rest of the cast because it's a fighting game?
      Not to mention what millia does is easier to deal with than most of the casts offensive pressure. The character is designed to give you burst and tension resource for the gameplan succeeding against you. If you get your burst read or don't abuse your defensive options in the first place, you don't have a right to complain about other players complaining

      @@DomiWurld What makes you think its too much? To me, Millia feels like a strike/throw character until you actually get the hit/have meter. So would enhancing her ability to get the first hit make her too strong? I ask because as of currently her CS only frame traps into 2p and because of that it doesn't warrant enough fear to stop people from FDing CS.
