It's always nice to recognize you have an issue with your coil and be able to work on our gear after so many outings in the goldfields.whites electronics use to hand wind their coils after 60+ years and very rarely did their coils false.garrett on the other hand uses CNC machines to wind to tight tolerances and explains why this coils are so good. Nice vid dude
i happen to be repairing the same coil today . Havnt used it for 7 years but it was a fine search coil. My replaceable plate wore through and did minor damage to the main body which i will glue up .But i do recall it had touch sensitive issues when touched on the ground ,it would be unstable ,maybe the same thing .Hopefully it goes all right after i finish .Thanks for the video it was great to see you go through it all..
Hi...nice video..explain to me what the carbon paint coating is for, and could you have used the spray version of this paint..that the same people sale..Thanks
The way I understand it , is that it helps shield the coil from electromagnetic interference. Maybe it just helps the ground wire? I`m not really sure. All I know is that it was on the coil before the repair so I figured it best to put the carbon paint back on afterwards.. I don't see why a spray version wouldn't work. maybe apply 2 coats?
My coiltek coil from my ctx detector came in water i think and it works but it makes interference. And my question is what should I do to repair it? No guarantees and I think, it was of ocacion.------mi bobina coiltek de mi detector ctx entró agua creo y funciona pero hace interferencias. y mi pregunta es que debo hacer para reparar? no ay garantias pienso, fue de ocacion.ok
you'd think that for the price, coiltek would produce a better quality product to start with. I've heard of lots of guys having problems with their coils.
How can coiltek justify their prices with such poor build quality. I just bought the 18x12 and the tape was only around the outside allowing all the dirt to enter from the inner opening. I ended up having to completely remove that crappy tape and take off the scrap guard after just a few minutes of use.
Coiltek must hate you :)..............I just split my 9X14 and found the same problems. Will be patching it up and using it in the future. THANKS!!! DUDE!!!....go find some gold :P Tom

Whats the worst that could happen right? Im sure you`ll do a great job, its just time consuming. Thanks for watching !
Great video, thanks for taking the time to post.
Very good! What is the resistance of this paint, for example in a distance of 1cm? Thanks.
I do not have the answer. Thanks for watching !
very helpful thanks and please make more if you fix other stuff as well
thanks for your video. Do you remember details of wire? Litz or not?! number awg
That video was made years ago. I do not think it was Litz at that time , sorry I can not remember the gauge of it either.

How did you split the housing
@@gold-denprospecting8066 butter knife. All you need to do is break the bonding material.
Awesome job man!
Good video
Well done, great vid, learned a lot and HH

quiero informacion sobre como hacer un detector de metales que me sirva para cual quier metal
Why a "carbon" based paint? And as opposed to what?
Hi how I can make a DD coil for a frequency of 10 kHz and 6mH
Is this coil still worth the money in 2019? I have seen the new 14x9 Goldstalker coil with the new Litz wire for $295.00
Personally, I would Stick with the stock coils , or Nuggetfinder coils.
