Actually, it is a Richie Supa song, and no Aerosmith member wrote it. But anyway, is weird and wonderful listen to Joe Perry's solo band playing a RAP song!
Joe Perry never played on the original recording of Lightning Strikes. He is the only original member who did not. He wasn't in Aerosmith at the time and neither was Brad Whitford who guested on the song.
Whats weird is he didn't play on this album an this song - him an grandma were fighting an each thru a hissy fit an joe left- but it looks like he's gonna credit anyway
Aaaah Joe!! Sweet-toned Funky ass Tele with a trem and missing pickups... Doesn't matter! Mr. Perry knows exactly how to get the tone He's after! My favorite guitarist!
Lightning would be a great addition for the Peace Out Tour. And since Joey won't be there, it'd be nice to get Russ Irwin on keys. He's about 74.2 million times better than Buck.
@@GuitarBillCurran I've seen them don't live with Aerosmith just not solo. If any song from rock in a hard place why not Jailbait? That's the song Joe had always wished he had recorded with the band, not lightning strikes.
if it wasn’t for Aerosmith, joe will never make it to the music industry. Same live he couldn’t even find the 1 with the drummer…. On his own song 😂 Super slapy after all this years of playing the instrument and with his tele he is off the pitch all the time…
Joe Perry playing Jimmy Crespo's licks is like Bizarro World
Actually, it is a Richie Supa song, and no Aerosmith member wrote it. But anyway, is weird and wonderful listen to Joe Perry's solo band playing a RAP song!
Gary is a perfect fit for these songs and frankly got a raw deal in Van Halen. The guy rocks!
Super-cool and unexpected... Love it!
Best video I've seen of this tour. Great job.
Thanks a lot man!
Lightening strikes sounds great as a live track!! I didn’t see that coming!
Neither did I! Especailly seeing as Joe wasn't even in the band when they wrote that!
Joe needs to eat a Bucket of BBQ Ribs Man, he is skin and Bones
There's a reason his home studio is called The Bone Yard.
Not possible, he is vegan.😅
He looks pretty darn good 😊👍
This may well be the best filmed/best sounding AUD so far of this tour! TY
Thank you!
Joe sounded like 23 old Joe right here. Joe EFffiiiiinnnggg Perry!
Joe Perry never played on the original recording of Lightning Strikes. He is the only original member who did not. He wasn't in Aerosmith at the time and neither was Brad Whitford who guested on the song.
I know I was really surprised when they started playing it! I think he just really likes the song.
Saw them live in 1985 after Joe came back. Yes Aerosmith did this that night. Joe has said he likes the song a lot.
What a salut’
I'm surprised he'd play an aerosmith song that he had nothing to do with
My thought exactly, but I think Aerosmith may have played this song live a handful of times after he and Brad rejoined.
Yeaaah I was like "whaaat?!" haha
And yet playing without Brad's guitar line
Two words , car crash, Walk this way. 🤦♂️
That was my first thought, too..
SAME HERE
Gary deserves more recognition as a singer
Whats weird is he didn't play on this album an this song - him an grandma were fighting an each thru a hissy fit an joe left- but it looks like he's gonna credit anyway
Gary's enjoying the shows!
Yea he was definetely having fun! I also spotted Pat Badger from Extreme up in the private box seats above the stage.
Aaaah Joe!! Sweet-toned Funky ass Tele with a trem and missing pickups... Doesn't matter! Mr. Perry knows exactly how to get the tone He's after! My favorite guitarist!
Has Gary even aged. Cripes the guy looks like he did in 99. Well Done.
He works hard at it.
JOE PERRY A F"EN LEGEND!
Yes he is! 💛🤍🖤💙
❤🎸
The first song my band in 1980 covered. The chains clashed like thunder while the weakones all retreat
Funny, it wasn't released until '82
@badgramps67 the 80's were tough. Thanks for pointing out that my memory is fading.
Is that the singer from Extreme? Great stuff.. Thanks for sharing this video.> Really appreciate it.. Thanks again!
I love that Joe plays this tune. A lot of guys would be butt hurt about it.
Joe Perry said he liked that album.
Nice reverse headstock Tele Joe!
I bet noone even realized thats Gary Cherone from the band Extreme on vocals!!
I did instantly, Do I win anything....... No.......Dammit !!!
Lol
And at one point Van Halen🙋💯🎶🙏🙆
Yeah we all did lol
Gary was super while signing Some Queen for Freddy tribute😢. Extreme has respected Their songs. Extra ! Like Freddy😊
❤Joe perry ❤🦇🇲🇽🇺🇸 México vs usa
@Joe Perry gracias yo bien esposa billet perry
A forgotten classic from when Joe was AWOL from the band. Classy move by Joe giving a nod to the Crespo era.
Gary is the voice of Extreme!
Some audience members has seen his act a few times, knew Lightning Strikes was coming up
Yea a lot of people around me had gone to the CT show the night before.
Big tour announcement - 40 city Aerosmith tour ‘23 & ‘24 🎤🎸
I hope that's true!
Lightning would be a great addition for the Peace Out Tour. And since Joey won't be there, it'd be nice to get Russ Irwin on keys. He's about 74.2 million times better than Buck.
Kinda looks like and sounds like Gary Cherone on vocals?
It is Gary!
Whooa,,, blue steel
He looks……………..good
This needs Tyler
Back in Aerosmith's early days Joe used to bleach out a hunk of his hair. Now it's natural.
Yeah well I'm guessing he's grey and he color his hair black 😂
Im confused as to why theyre playing this song. Im not complaining as they sound great but its from an album Joe wasn't even on.
I think Joe just really likes the song. I think I've actually seen him play it with Aerosmith before.
@@GuitarBillCurran I've seen them don't live with Aerosmith just not solo. If any song from rock in a hard place why not Jailbait? That's the song Joe had always wished he had recorded with the band, not lightning strikes.
Where’s Jimmy Crespo? Wtf?
Lol
Vocals are horrible here.
Extreme is a hard rock group with Nuno Bettancourt. Aerosmith’s music is more soft 😅
Not on the first decades albums it’s pretty eggen hard
My lord hope Joe is okay, lmao he's the best but why is his skinny???
I thought he looked pretty in shape up close. He is in his 70s.
He's always been thin. Just a little saggy, but Hell, not all 70 somethings would wear revealing clothes but he does, skin sags.
He's always been thin. That's why his home studio is called the bone yard
@@jersydvl Bone yard les paul.
He’s in his 70s for Christ sake and done more drugs than all of us put together. He’s lucky he’s alive😂
Yes odd choice
This sounded nothing like Lightening strikes from Ozzy.
lol, completely different song!
@@GuitarBillCurran I know.. Haha.. I actually made this comment to see who would react. Just for giggles.
Non si puo' ne vedere ne sentire😮😢
Nice try but you need Steven Tyler. My guess it's Joe Perry's way of apologizing, trying to make amends.
Non parliamo poi della maglietta di Joe proprio fuori posto 😢
Joe had nothing to do with this song???? Why not do something off Let the Music or I've got the R&R?
if it wasn’t for Aerosmith, joe will never make it to the music industry. Same live he couldn’t even find the 1 with the drummer…. On his own song 😂 Super slapy after all this years of playing the instrument and with his tele he is off the pitch all the time…
Sounds tired
